Inside Dr. Cartel's private lab, Logan was lying on the bed. Besides the bed was a drip being held up by a drip stand. The drip was connected to a sleeping Logan's hand. Leo sat on the chair next to Logan's bed and thought about all that happened. He clearly remembered himself beating Logan up, and he couldn't do anything about it. At this moment, Dr. Cartel entered the lab and sighed upon seeing Leo. He walked to him and put his hand on his shoulder. “Dr. Emily said that he's gonna be alright. He just broke a few ribs and some bruises. No long-lasting damages done.” he informed, hoping to cheer him up. However, Leo didn't respond. He wore a solemn look and tears fell from his eyes. “This is all my fault…” he claimed, “I shouldn't have gotten angry. I shouldn't have,” he said. Although the look on his face was like that of someone who was extremely angry, tears still trickled down his eyes. Dr. Cartel pursed his lips and sighed, before grabbing another chair and sitting beside Leo. “I know you're upset right now, and you're in deep regret. However, you need to get yourself together.” Dr. Cartel tried cheering him up. Leo looked at him and the doctor continued, “You see, you need to look at the bright side. You didn't end up killing him. Although you did do some damage, he's ready to go through hell with you. Having a friend like that is more than a blessing. So instead of having regrets for hurting something dear to you, think of a way to not make this same mistake ever again.” the doctor advised. Leo sighed and turned his head to the sleeping Logan. He gave it some more thought and at this point, he knew that Dr. Cartel was right. He shouldn't be sulking, and he should instead, think of a way to stop the alter ego inside him from ever coming out. He gave it some thought, and he remembered the test Dr. Cartel talked about. “We need to act fast.” Leo implied with a deep voice and a stern face. The doctor nodded in agreement. “What do you have in mind?” he inquired. Leo gave it some thought before speaking. “I need you to conduct that test you spoke about fast and see if there's a way to shut down the dragon inside me.” He explained. The doctor shook his head. “We might be able to find the dragon, but we can't shut him down. Moreover, considering how dangerous he is, conducting the test will pose a huge risk.” Dr. Cartel enlightened. “How big a risk?” Leo inquired. “Very big. We could end up making him take over completely, and you'll end up doing things even worse than what you did to Logan.” The doctor clarified. Leo sighed and contemplated for a while before deciding. He stood up, prepared to leave the lab. “Prepare to conduct the tests. We shall begin tomorrow evening,” he ordered and left the lab. Dr. Cartel shook his head and sighed. When Leo gets serious, he can be very bossy. He didn't mind anyway. After all, Leo had helped him. This was the least he could do. He gave it more thought, and the image of Leo going on a rampage made him shiver.
The guy could control both fire and lightning. If he were to start a rampage, Sky City would literally become hell, as he would burn the whole city to the ground. He sighed and remembered the occurrence of the rampaging monster chimpanzee. “I hope this goes on well. This city cannot handle another monster,” he muttered to himself as he went to his office. He looked at his desk and got sight of the telephone on it. He gave it some thought and took it and dialed a number. “General Raven, It's Dr. Cartel. I need your help on something extremely important. The fate of Sky city might depend on it.” he explained. ******************* Leo walked down the streets of Sky hills. He had reached his area, but he wasn't heading home. Instead, he was heading toward Logan's house. He needed to let his parents know what happened and wanted to take full responsibility for it. Everything that had happened until now gave him more of a need to return to Sunshine city. “Leeoooo!” Leo heard a very familiar voice call his name from behind him. He looked back and saw his aunt and his little cousin jogging toward him. He forced a smile and carried the approaching Kate. “Awww, little Kate. How long have you been running after me?” Leo questioned. Kate didn't say anything and just smiled. His aunt jogged towards Leo. She had a worried expression on her face. “Hey. Where are you headed now?” she asked. “Umm… Logan's house.” Leo replied. “To tell them about it?” She inquired again. Leo nodded. “I need to take responsibility for what happened, and it wouldn't be good if I kept his parents in the dark.” He responded. He couldn't, even if he wanted to because Mr. and Mrs. Martins would notice sooner or later. Molly bit her lip and touched Leo's face. “Are you really ok?” she asked with concern. Leo closed his eyes and shook his head. “To be honest, I'm not confident. I just believe that we need to get some things done before I head out again.” He said with resignation. Molly sighed and patted Leo on the back. “You do what you feel needs to be done. I'll support you, whatever it is.” She uttered. Leo nodded and dropped Kate before heading towards Logan's house. “I must be ready,” he muttered to himself. A few minutes later, he got to Logan's house and knocked. The house was pretty much a bungalow. Leo gathered some courage as he exhaled, and he walked up to the front door. However, the door suddenly opened before he could even knock. “Thank goodness you're here…” a woman who seemed to be in her late thirties was standing right in front of Leo. She was slender and a bit too beautiful for her age. When Leo saw her, he was reminded of his mum, as they had the same stature. She looked distressed and worried, and she wondered what had happened. “Where's Logan? He isn't picking up his phone and the PE teacher said something about you both going to a hospital…” she spoke with a fearful tone. Leo felt touched and tears almost came from his eyes. However, he couldn't afford to cry here and now. “Calm down, Mrs. Martin. Rest assured, Logan is fine.” he attempted to calm her down, but this didn't work.
“Then where is he?” she inquired, “I need to see my son,” she said. It was at this point that Leo's will faltered. He was so sure that he would bear any insult or form of abuse he would get from the lady before him. But seeing how frantic she was, he couldn't bring himself to tell her. However, what must be done must be done. “He's in safe hands. He'll be back home tonight. I assure you, ma'am. But for now, you shouldn't disturb him.” Leo muttered. Tears trickled down Mrs. Martin's eyes, and she held Leo by his clothes. “You know where my son is. I need to see him. You were both together, right? Then take me to him. I want to know where he is.” she demanded. Leo just couldn't bring a very caring mother to feel more pain, so he decided to tell her when it was over. Although Logan's wounds wouldn't heal overnight, he already had another plan for that. He took Logan's mother's hands and held them tightly as he looked directly into Mrs. Martin's eyes. “Your son is safe with me. Don't be troubled, nothing will happen to him,” he claimed before dropping her hands and turning to go. The woman was still in a bit of shock, and she kept thinking of what Leo said. Leo meant what he said, only that it was in another way. He quickly sped home to have his lunch. “Back so soon? How did it go?” Molly inquired. Leo remembered the concerned teary face of the loving mother and he sighed. “I couldn't do it… I was unable to bring myself to tell her the truth.” He said with a solemn look, tears almost falling from his eyes. Molly sighed. She took a seat in front of Leo and took his hands. “You have to, Leo. In due time, you'll have to tell her what happened. Logan has broken ribs, which will take a month or more to heal. There's no way she wouldn't notice that something is wrong with her son within that time.” she elucidated. Leo looked at her with fierce eyes. “I have a plan. I will just need time,” he said. Molly was a bit surprised. “Wow, you already have a plan? Tell me about it.” she said. Leo didn't reply to her. Instead, he stood up and went straight to the kitchen to take a knife. Molly was surprised, scared, and confused as to why Leo would pick a knife, of all things, in the kitchen. 'Is he about to… kill me?' she thought, and her heart began to pound in fear.
