“Doctor, what's wrong with her?" Emily asked. She rushed over to the hospital as soon as Andrea called and said Rose collapsed.
“She has PTSD, which means something must have triggered her which resulted in her having a panic attack" Emily nodded slowly at the doctor.
“So what do we do now?" The doctor smiled.
“All you have to do is know what can trigger her and have her abstain from it" Emily nodded and thanked the doctor as he walked away.
“Mother, you can take Andrea back to school and get back to work, I'll stay with Rose" Before they could protest, Aiden already dashed into the hospital room. He closed the door behind him and moved closer to Rose, Her eyes were still closed.
“What happened to you Rose?" He whispered to himself. He moved his hand to caress her face but stopped Midway when her eyes fluttered open. He redrew his hand quickly and cleared his throat.
“You... you're up" She stared at him suspiciously but nodded.
“Why are we at the hospital?" She asked him. He moved towards the water dispenser and helped her get water. He moved towards her and motioned for her to open her mouth. She narrowed her eyes at him.
“I can do it by myself" She quickly grabbed the cup from his hand and gulped down the water. He sighed before sitting down on the bed.
“You had a panic attack" She widened her eyes at him.
“Why?"
“Apparently you have PTSD" She nodded slowly at him.
“Is it bad?" He raised an eyebrow at her words.
“You don't know what PTSD means?" She shook her head.
“It means post traumatic disorder" Her eyes widened with understanding.
“Oh" was all she said. An awkward silence passed between them.
“So what happened to you?" She turned to glare at him.
“Nothing," She said in her usual monotone voice.
“Rose, you have to tell us so we'll know how to help you," he said gently.
“I don't need help, I'm perfectly fine" she stood up and walked out of the room, there she met Emily, Andrea and Liam walking towards her room. As soon as Liam saw her, he ran towards her and hugged her thighs.
“I was so worried about you" He raised his head and frowned at her.
“How did you know I was in the hospital?" She caressed his head gently.
“I overheard Aunt Emily and Aunt Andrea talking about it when I was on my way for a check up" She sighed at him.
“I'm fine now Alright?, Go back for your check up" She said to him with a smile.
“Are you sure you are alright?" She nodded at him.
“Yes I am" He sighed before walking towards Andrea so that she could take him back to his ward. As soon as they were out of sight, Emily spoke.
“Dear we need to talk" Rose's eyes that were warm a few minutes ago had instantly turned cold. Before she could say anything, Aiden walked up to his mother.
“Mother, when she's ready she will tell us, now she needs to rest" Emily sighed but nodded.
“Alright go get Andrea and Liam, we'll be waiting for you by the car" Aiden nodded at her. He glanced at Rose for a split second before walking away.
“I pray you would open up to us soon dear" Emily smiled at her before walking away with Rose following silently behind her.
“Go to bed Liam, I told Emily it was a wrong move to buy you an ipad." Rose yelled at him. Emily bought Liam an iPad so he wouldn't be bored when he's at the hospital alone.
“But I'm in level 70 right now" She turned to glare at him. He huffed before dropping the iPad on the bed side table and resting his head on the pillow. She moved closer to him and tucked him in.
“Tomorrow, you will have all the time in the world to play that game. Rest for now" she kissed his forehead before walking towards the door.
“Where are you going?" He asked groggily, his eyes were already drooping.
“I just need water, I'll be right back" She opened the door and walked straight to the kitchen. As soon as she got to the kitchen, she quickly walked towards the fridge, took out a bottle of water and gulped it down. She heaved a sigh of relief. As she was about to go back to her room, she stumbled upon a shard of glass, she froze and stared at it for a long time before taking a deep breath and deciding to walk right past it.
“Pick it up" A voice rang inside her head making her halt in her step.
“Pick it up!" The voice got more forceful, she pressed her palm firmly over her ears.
“Leave me alone" Her voice cracked as she yelled out.
“You killed your mother, pick up the glass" she fell to the floor.
“I didn't, leave me alone!!" She yelled out. Someone ran to hold her but she tried to push off the person.
“Let me go!!" She yelled out and trashed around in the person's arm but that just made the person tightened his arms around her.
“It's me Rose. Shh calm down it's me" Aiden said softly in her ear. She instantly calmed down as she heard his voice.
“A...Aiden?" She asked weakly while pressing her face on his chest. He hugged her tightly.
“Hmm it's me. It's alright now, you are alright" he caressed her back as he talked. She tightened her arms around him.
“I'm tired, Aiden," she silently cried. He patted her back and let her cry into his shirt.
“Cry all you want, you won't be alone again" He assured her. He tried to stand up but she held him down firmly.
“Please don't go...stay with me like this for a while" she said tiredly. He hugged her back then kissed her forehead.
