As Eddy suggested, we left the bar. We decided that we won't go home but stay out and use the opportunity to reflect on our family and brainstorm on how to bring up solutions to the problems we had at hand. Though, my case was much more critical, so I made up my mind not to go home, no matter what. I would only find a way to rescue the kids from whoever was holding them in captivity, then my coming back to that house would be after it has been proven that the test result was a fake. I wasn't planning on leaving with a fake life for the rest of my life, when obviously I won't be happy.
Getting into the car, we started ours and I drove off first, with Eddy following behind. I thought that it would be nicer to stay a bit far from home, a place where someone won't be able to trace us easily.
We passed few hotels on our way, but none of them caught my fancy. Till I came across one gigantic one on the other side of the road. So, we were forced to cross the road to get into the hotel. I parked my car, while Eddy parked his close to mine.
"Alex, are you sure about this? Eddy asked as I was about walking inside.
I turned to him and smiled briefly, then answered. "well, we don't have a choice now, do we? I am not sure about anything now Eddy, but I think I like this hotel, so I am sure about this hotel." I answered.
"Okay then, if you say so." Eddy replied and walked inside, while I followed after this time around.
We got to the receptionist post and met with the lady incharge. Eddy did the talking, while I watched and took in whatever that was said.
"Good evening gentlemen. Welcome to Royals Purple hotel. How may I help you this wonderful and beautiful night? The receptionist asked, smiling sweetly.
"Thank you for that compliment, I actually needed it so much. Thank you." Eddy answered, keeping the girl in a little bit of confusion.
"So uhm, how do I pay for a room here? And urrhh, yeah, how much does it cost? Eddy asked.
"Okay sir, that's so great. In this magnificent hotel, we have four special types of rooms here. But, you will have to make a choice yourself." She said and handed the room booklet to Eddy.
I came closer and stretched my neck to see what was inside the booklet.
"Geez, Alex. Silver room, Gold room, Diamond room and Priceless room. Can you imagine that the silver room which is the cheapest is $100, that is approximately a fifty thousand naira for a single night?
"Atleast it has everything and the cost of food is covered in it, so there is no need to worry about it. I think it is quite cheap anyway."
"Alex, there is no cost of food in this. Also, think you are getting insane really. I mean, why will you say this is cheap anyway? Eddy complained.
"I just told you my mind. By the way, we are actually going for the cheapest one and you are just complaining, come on, you are bigger than that." I said to him
"That would have been different only if I was going on a business trip. Not paying for this kind of hotel when my house is more comfortable that this and it's just few miles away from here." Eddy nagged.
"If that's your problem, then I'll advice that you actually go home now. Hmmm."
"Whatever, stupid."
I didn't reply him. I turned to the receptionist who was still standing there and staring at us. "Young lady, I want to pay for two rooms, for two nights. That should be $400, four hundred dollars, right?
"Yes sir. Would you wish to pay in dollars or in the local currency? She asked, still maintaining the smile. Don't they get tired of pretending to smile at customers. I wondered in my mind.
"I think I should pay in dollars, yeah in dollars please." I replied.
"Okay sir. Would you pay in cash or you will prefer to transfer the cash? She asked again.
"I'd prefer a transfer please. If you have a Payoneer exchange account, I would prefer to use that." I said immediately, knowing that would be her next line of question.
"Okay sir, Payoneer it is then."
She gave me the hotel's Payoneer email account, while I did the transaction and showed her the proof of if successful transaction. She took it and confirmed that it was successful on her own end as well.
She took out two keys and handed them to the other person that just came around, who offered to take us to our rooms.
We were leaving to our rooms when I saw someone walk to the receptionist to book for a room. That face looked very familiar, so I turned to look though not making it so obvious.
Seems she was familiar with the hotel as she had already booked and was about taking her keys from the receptionist.
I tapped Eddy and told him that it was the lady I met earlier in the bar.
"Such a big coincidence. She must be a big lady I see." Eddy said, though not in good thought, but in a way to make fun of me, but I didn't buy it.
"That's your problem. You can go on without me, I will go and meet her. See you later man." I said to him, casually.
"It's my problem, okay. Just don't let this going to see her end up in going down on your bed. You know the situation we are into now, we don't want more of that now, do we?
"I've heard you. Go ahead, I will meet you later."
"Just don't do anything stupid." Eddy said and left me, while I walked back to meet with Stacy.
She was heading to her room probably, when I obstructed her way, standing infront of her.
"Stacy Lambert." I said, more like a surprise or maybe a question. "Wow, see who we have here. What a surprise. I didn't know we would meet so soon."
She looked up at me and she had this startled look on her face. "Wait a minute, Alex! Hold on, are you, are you stalking me? She asked like she was scared or something.
"Stalking you? Hahahaha. You must be really funny. I can't do that. Not to a lady I just met anyway." I answered smiling.
"Ohh I see. So, uhm, what are you doing here then? She asked, looking around, as if to monitor her environment.
"I came here with a friend. The guy I told you was coming to the bar then. Yeah, we have some important business we need to sort out and we needed to be close by." I answered innocently.
"Closeby. Really. Something you cannot do in your house. Do you mean, the ladies business? She asked, smiling wickedly.
"No no, that's not an important business. Anyway, I can't disclose that to you though. I guess we will see later, since you are still around, right?
"Well, yeah. What room are you? She asked, smiling seductively.
"I'm in 306. You can stop by if you wish." I said
"Okay, whenever I am less busy then." She answered.
"Yep, see you soon."
I left her and walked upstairs to my room. Then, I remembered that I didn't ask her for her room number and she didn't tell me either. But, it will be so awkward if I go back there just to request for it, it would be so awkward and she might think that I am really stalking her, which I am not. I feel she might come to my room anyway, she acted like she will. Maybe if she does, I could just ask her then.
I got to my room and took a quick warm shower bath. It felt cool, but at the same time, I missed home, home with my wife and children. I had to take my mind off it for the meantime.
I requested for room service, tabled what I wanted for dinner and paid the bill immediately.
Not long after I did so, I got my orders delivered to my room. That was quite fast, I thought as I sat down to eat comfortably. I thought of calling Eddy, who knows what he was up to at the moment. His room was next to mine, but I didn't feel like stepping out.
So, I placed a call across to him. Luckily, he answered the call. I asked him to come to my own room when he was less busy. He said he was eating and would do so when he is done with it.
I finished eating few minutes later, so I sat down on the bed and started browsing through my phone.
About an hour later, someone knocked on the door.
"It must be Eddy." I thought.
I got up and went to check it out, only to find a seductive looking lady at my door!
