Sharon was looking out through the window of her room, watching the sun set on the horizon, but it wasn't as beautiful as before. All the beauty faded when her father told her that she'd never see Victor again. Although she knew Victor for a very short time, she would never forget him. She closed the window and went to her bed. She lay down and closed her eyes, hoping that her dreams would be better than her reality. Sharon inhaled deeply, but she couldn't fall asleep; all she was thinking about was Victor. She wondered if he even thought about her like she did. "Perhaps not. Perhaps he's enjoying his life now. Perhaps he didn't have even a little regard for me. Perhaps he was just playing with my feelings," Sharon couldn't stop herself from thinking. Two days later, Sharon didn't come out of her room. She was isolating herself, and her parents and grandmother were all worried about her. "What happened to Sharon? Why wouldn't she go out from her room?" Rebecca asked. "It seems like your child is sulking because she won’t be able to see her boyfriend anymore," Kwan replied. "Her boyfriend. Why? What happened?" Rebecca asked. Kwan explained to his wife what happened. She said that he was so cruel for doing that, but she couldn't blame him either because he just wanted to protect Sharon from strangers, especially if the man looked untrustworthy. "Why won't you go up there and try to comfort your child?" Kwan requested to her wife. "Maybe she'd listen to you. It's been two days already, and she's not eating anything." "I'll try." Rebecca stood up from the chair and continued upstairs. She knocked on the door of Sharon's room several times, but she wasn't answering, so she decided to open it using a duplicated key and found it wasn't locked. Rebecca entered Sharon's room, but she didn't find her there. Where did she go? She wondered. Rebecca immediately went downstairs and told Kwan that Sharon was not in her room. "What do you mean she's not in her room?" Kwan asked in a surprised tone. "Did she run away again?" "She wasn't there. Her bed was untouched, and the window was wide open. I think she climbed out," Rebecca replied worriedly. "What kind of—" Kwan was about to curse, but he knew there was no use saying that. "She was too attached to that man. She must have gone to find him." "Do you mean that man she wanted to introduce as her boyfriend and the one you told not to get close to her anymore?" Rebecca asked. "Exactly," Kwan clarified. "We have to find her as soon as possible. I have a gut feeling that she's not safe with that man; no matter how he masks it, I can sense his bad intentions towards our family." Sharon, on the other hand, went through the busy streets of the city, checking every narrow corner where she could find Victor. She wouldn't stop unless he saw him and told him how much she loved him, that she'd rebel against her father just to be with him. "This is the worst," Sharon cursed under her breath as she stopped in the park, holding her knees, looking at the ground, panting and sweating like a stray dog. "I have to keep looking. I need him because I love him." As she continued looking for Victor, Sharon stumbled upon a mysterious place. She had no idea that it was a brothel and men visit there to have fun with prostitutes. Sharon was curious, so she got inside and was surprised to see men and women flirting. Sharon didn't like the place and was about to go out when a strong force pulled her. As she looked back, she saw a very muscular man. He was drunk and he didn't recognize Sharon, he grabbed her arms and dragged her to a private room. "No, please don't, stop!" Sharon screamed, but the men only laughed at her. They were gossiping about her delicious feature, as if they saw her as a food rather than a human. They were about to enter the room when someone came to her rescue. Sharon was so happy that someone came to save her, and she was surprised that it was Victor, her savior. "What are you doing with this girl?" Victor asked the man, holding one of his arms. The man saw Victor as a threat, and he tried to punch him, but Victor dodged and punched him back in the face. It was so hard that he fell on the bed and fell asleep. The men clapped at Victor's heroic moves to save a young girl from being raped. Then, they mind their own business as if nothing had happened, since it was already common for them to see such troubles. "Thanks, Vic," Sharon struggled to say his name. Her face turned red in embarrassment as she didn't expect to see Victor in a brothel. She thought that he might wonder what she was doing there. "You got me wrong—" "Are you okay, Sharon? Are you hurt?" Victor asked worriedly as he examined Sharon for injury. "So, she's the girl you were talking about in your sleep?" Dahlia asked, standing next to them, watching how Victor punched that man and acted worried to the girl. "Shhhh... You're embarrassing me, Dahlia," Victor said with a smile on his face. Seeing Victor smile at Dahlia, Sharon felt jealous as he never smiled like this before when he was with her. She thought that perhaps he finally found her happiness, even before she arrived in his life, so it would be better to just accept the truth that they weren't meant to be. "How about you, Sharon?" Victor asked again. "I'm fine," Sharon replied, trying to hide her pain. She wanted to tell Victor her feelings, but now she found out that it was unnecessary; she'd just support him for his happiness and never bother him again. "Where are you going?" Victor asked, holding Sharon's hands when she was about to leave. His mind telling him not to let her go or he'd regret it for the rest of his life. Sharon couldn't look Victor in the face. She'd give up what they had started since he already had someone who'd continue the story, and she felt like she was no longer part of the equation, so she slipped her hands from his and left the brothel without looking back.
