Chapter 40

"Luciano stop!" Nikolai yelled running to grab his arm, preventing him from attacking Sabrina. "Just stop it!"
Luciano tried to move further but Nikolai grabbed him harder. "Just stop it!"
Sabrina stood against the table, her eyes widened in shock and fear as she stared at the two brothers struggling hard against each other. One aiming to probably attack her and the other preventing him.
"Just fucking leave her! She's not worth it!" Nikolai yelled, pushing him backwards.
"Of course she's worth it!" Luciano yelled in pure fury. "How dare she touch her?! Hey! How dare you?!"
Sabrina smirked and chuckled humourlessly, she crossed her arms together, quirking a brow at Luciano. "So this whole thing is about that slave? You really wanted to hit me because of her?" She asked.
"Actually, I want to." Luciano said through gritted teeth, rushing to her only to be stopped by Nikolai.
"Ignore her Luciano, she's only trying to provoke you."
"Hey you!" Nikolai called, turning to stare at her. "Can you just quit being a bitch?" He spat out angrily, staring at her with disgust evident in his eyes.
"Now, I'm the one who's being a bitch? Why don't you tell your brother to stop being a jerk."
"Huh." Nikolai stared at her with his brows raised at her previous statement.
Sabrina chuckled humorlessly before staring at them with a serious look on her face. "Yes. Why don't you tell your brother to stop being a jerk. I've been here for months and he gives me no attention. No single attention! All because of that good-for-nothing wretched slave. Do you really expect me to sit here and watch?!! Do nothing about her?! Huh?!!" Sabrina yelled with rage in her eyes. "Huh, what do you seriously take me for? A fool. Excuse me! I'm human! And not just anybody! The both of you knows it, I'm Sabrina and I take no nonsense."
Luciano chuckled humorlessly, staring at her coldly. "Well, I don't really care who you are Sabrina. I wasn't the one who invited you here. But let me warn you, don't you ever cross my part ever again. You know what I mean, that includes my maid, Eleanor. And if you cross that line, I won't hesitate in killing you " Luciano threatened and glared at her for a few seconds before storming out of the room.
Nikolai stared disdainfully at her before he spat out. "Bitch." And turned around, storming out of the room to follow Luciano.
"I fucking hate you!!!!" Sabrina screamed, her voice echoing in the hallway.

*Eleanor's POV*
I let out a deep breath as my eyes fluttered open. I let out a small yawn as I took my eyes around the room.
This is definitely not my room, it was way different from mine
What am I doing here? And how did I get here?
I tried sitting up from the bed but the sharp pain that suddenly came from my head made me stop my actions and I laid back on the bed. I took my hand to my head as I winced in pain.
Images of what happened previously in my room suddenly flashed in my head, making me groan loudly.
Sabrina!
Oh my god! Did she bring me here to finally kill me?
Or, she wouldn't treat me if she actually wanted to kill me. Would she?
I took my eyes around the room, checking out the room. It was way better than mine. It looks like a room for royalty. There was a big standing mirror on the other side of the room, unlike mine which had none.
I averted my eyes to the door when I heard sounds of footsteps in the hallway. The door went open and Madam Helen stepped in, gasping lightly as soon as her eyes landed on mine.
"Eleanor!"
"Eleanor?" Gwen called stepping further into the room. Her eyes beamed in excitement immediately she sighted me. "Oh my god! Eleanor!" She squealed, rushing to me.
"How are you?"
"How do you feel?"
"Does your head hurt?"
"Are you hungry?"
"Do you want me to sing you a song?"
"Do you wanna pee?"
"Or do you wanna sleep?"
"Are you tired?"
"Do you feel okay?"
"Okay, okay, I'm fine." I chuckled lightly at their numerous questions. "Though my head hurts badly."
"Do you want me to get you water?"
"Gwen, I'm fine." I smiled reassuring her.
"Okay then. Since you assured me that you're fine. I'll drop some herbs for you to take, then I'll take my leave." I turned to see Mabuse, the royal physician who I hadn't noticed earlier standing in the middle of the room, staring at us.
"Okay, okay, come on." Madam Helen urged him.
*
"You should give her this in case she experiences a concussion which I'm not sure she might, and that's all." Mabuse concluded after prescribing a series of herbs to Madam Helen to give me.
"Okay Mabuse. Thank you so much." Madam Helen said to him with a small smile on her face.
"Oh, you're welcome. I'll take my leave now." He announced before exiting the room.
"God! Eleanor, I was so scared. I...I...thought I'd lose you." Gwen stuttered, her eyes becoming glossy.
"I already assured you Gwen, I'm fine. Don't worry too much."
"Tell me who did it? It's Sabrina right?"
Madam Helen and Gwen both stared at me with curiosity lingering in their eyes.
"Who else if it isn't the bitch?" I snickered.
"I knew it. I knew it'd be her."
"Come on, that's all about Sabrina. You need to get some rest. Come on, let's go." Madam Helen urged, tapping Gwen's arm.
"Okay, I'll give you enough time to rest. You need to get well soon." Gwen said, flashing me a smile.
"Okay, bye." I replied, returning the smile.
"Bye." She waved before exiting the room with Madam Helen.

Eleanor has closed her eyes when she began feeling drowsy as sleep began enveloping her.
Her insecurities approached immediately she heard the door creak open, she heaved out a sign of relief as soon as his cologne filled the room.
The prince, he's here.
She still wonders how she feels so safe and comfortable around him unlike before, when she was always thinking he was going to strangle her.
She opened her eyes slowly and turned her head slowly to stare at him as he closed the door and walked fully into the room.
"Hey." He called and drew a chair to the bed sitting on it. "How do you feel?" He asked as calmly as he could even though his face was forever contorted in a cold look.
"I'm... I'm fine." Eleanor replied timidly, as sleep began clouding her eyes.
Eleanor felt the prince hold her hand, his thumb drawing circles around the back of her palm. Eleanor took her eyes to his, staring deep in his eyes. His eyes were filled with affection as he stared back at her not saying a word.
Eleanor tried to look deeper into his eyes but her vision became so blurry as sleep was slowly enveloping her. The prince leaned down, very close to her face. Eleanor tried to keep her gaze on him as he leaned very close to her, his lips just a few inches from hers, for a moment she thought he was going to kiss her.
He suddenly leaned down and placed his lips on her forehead, planting an affectionate kiss there before whispering. "I love you."
Eleanor finally gave in to the sleep threatening to pull her into wonderland.
The gods know she definitely has strong feelings for this man.
