Chapter 30

Eleanor froze with eyes wide open staring at the prince in shock as his lips moved against hers. All Eleanor could do was stare up at the prince as different emotions ran through her.
Her fists clench beside her, resting on the wall. Eleanor stood there frozen not knowing what to do, of course this is the first time she is ever getting kissed not just by an ordinary person but by a royal. A royal who happens to be the cold hearted prince, the one who detests her to the guts.
She leaned back unto the wall as she felt her knees go weak and her breath hitched.
Luciano pulled away from Eleanor, disengaging his lips from hers. He moved back a little and ran his fingers through his hair breathing heavily.
Hell, What the fuck did he just do?
Eleanor stood against the wall, staring at the prince with wide eyes and her mouth parted slightly. She moved her eyes to the door before muttering. "Eh, I.. I'll just take my.. my leave." She stuttered moving against the wall slowly to the door like she was trying to escape a predator before scurrying out of the room.
Luciano stared at the spot where she was previously standing signing exasperatedly.
Is that seriously what his heart led him to do?
Dear gods!
He must definitely be having a heart failure.

Gwen's laughter rang throughout the bush accompanied by that of Nikolai.
She must confess that she really has a way around him. He just finds the easiest way to make her happy even in her saddest moment.
She brushed her hair off her face as the heavy breeze blew freely making her feel at ease.
Gwen rested her hands on the sand behind her leaning on it.
"See." Nikolai raised his brows at her, smiling widely. "I made you laugh."
Gwen let out a small laugh at his comment staring into his eyes.
"So.. let's take a walk.. what do you say?"
"Hmm hm." She mumbled, nodding her head approvingly.
Nikolai stood up to his feet before stretching his hands down to her like a gentleman. "Come on."
Gwen placed her small soft hands into his manly ones and he drew her to her feet. "We're not going far. I love the environment." Gwen says to him, quirking her brows.
"Sure, if you say so my lady."
Gwen's cheeks turned red as a blush crept up her cheeks. "Is that a red face I see?" Nikolai laughed, making Gwen blushed harder.
She used her hands to cover her face when she couldn't control the blush anymore.

Eleanor walked into the hallway leading to her room and rested on the wall panting heavily. She closed her eyes and placed her hand on her chest trying to calm her breathing.
She had run all the way from the Prince's room to this place like she was being chased by a dog.
She placed her head on her palm and walked to her room shutting the door behind herself. She leaned back on the door and dropped to the ground as she felt her head going round in circles.
Why the hell did he do that?
Eleanor grunted lightly when she recalled the feel of his lips on hers.
She still can't quite understand why he'd do that. It's so absurd.
She stood up from the ground shaking her head vigorously like she wanted to shut the thoughts off her mind.
This can't be happening. She has to find a way to stop it.
No one must know of it, it's only gonna put her in more trouble than ever.
There's Sabrina, the wicked Princess who hates her for nothing. There's the Queen, who detests her the most than any other royal in the castle. There's the king, his brother, Elliot. She's only going to put herself in more trouble.
No, she doesn't want that. She'd try as much as possible to stay away from the prince so what happened today must not repeat itself again.
She's sure the prince must be regretting what he did, why he'd kiss a slave like her when he's bride to be is right in the palace, under the same roof with him.
He must be regretting it, she's very sure of that.
Now, her main aim is to try to stay away from him to make her life easier here.

"Ermm..." Gwen scratched her hair nervously looking around.
"What? You want to say something?" Nikolai asked, smiling at her.
"Ermm.. yeah.." Gwen took a deep breath before speaking. "So.. I've been wanting to ask you. Why do you act differently from all other royals?" She asked, staring up at him. When he furrowed his brows at her in confusion she added. "You're the only one who.. you know.. act normal around slaves."
"Ohh.. I don't know."
"Huh? You don't know? You don't know why you act normal around us?"
"Uhhh.. I don't really know." Nikolai replied, shrugging his shoulders.
"You know, you're the only who doesn't point accusing fingers at us, the only one who speaks normally to slaves, just like you're doing now. You're kind of the only royal with a good heart."
"Huhhh... Let's just say I do what seems right to me."
"So you don't see us as enemies?" Gwen asked, raising her brows quizzically at him.
"Nah, I don't."
Gwen stared into the sky, smiling widely.
"Why are you smiling?"
Gwen chuckled before speaking. "Nothing, it just feels good to know you don't see us as enemies."
"Hmmm hmm." Nikolai mumbled, staring ahead of them. He took Gwen's hand into his entwining their fingers together.
Gwen gasped and looked down to their fingers and looked up at him with shock evident in her eyes. "Uhhh... Errmm.. Nikolai??"
"Come on, just relax and enjoy."
Gwen took her eyes away and stared around trying to ignore the feeling of his hands on hers.
She took a deep breath and smiled as the cool breeze caressed her skin.
Maybe she'd just relax and enjoy like he said.

Eleanor sat on her bed and stared at the window like she was studying it.
She would be a liar if she would say she hasn't been thinking about the kiss with the prince.
Her mind had been revolving around it. It was like a torturing reminder the prince placed on her.
She unconsciously took her hand to her lips, running her fingers over it lightly.
She groaned under her breath resting her head on the head rest of the bed.
Oh dear gods?
What has he done to her?
Now she can't stop thinking about him.
*Dear gods, help me forget about him*
She prayed in her mind and lay on her bed looking up to the sky through the window.

A figure in a black cloak could be seen walking outside the palace to the garden in hurried steps.
"What took you so long?" Another figure in black cloak asked the approaching person.
"Sorry, I almost forgot you'd be waiting for me."
The figure 2 huffed before asking impatiently. "So what about the plan?"
"I'm working on it. Just keep playing your part."
"I'm getting impatient."
"If you want a good result, you better get your patience back."
"Not as easy as you think."
"I've told you I'm working on it and everything is going the way I planned so just calm down."
"It better work out well." Figure 2 groaned before working out of the garden.
