Chapter 28

"Oh! there you are nephew." Elliot said with his usual smirk plastered on his face.
Luciano turned to stare at her, his face mirroring irritation and maybe hurt. "I... master..." Eleanor tried speaking but stopped when he glared at her with a cold look on his face.
Eleanor bowed her head in shame as tears began stinging her eyes.
Dear gods, why would this happen?
"It's good to see you again after a long time, nephew."
"What the hell do you think you were doing?" Luciano asked sternly.
"Oooh, what do you think?" Elliot raised his brows at him, turning to glance at Eleanor before turning back to face the prince.
"You should have taken that somewhere else." The prince said coldly. "And mind you, don't do that with my personal slave."
"Huh," Elliot started, turning to stare at me and the prince with suspicion in his eyes.
"Is there anything going on between you two?" Elliot arched his brows at the prince.
"No. Besides I don't do slaves." Luciano replied coldly, staring at her.
"Then why do you act like you care?" Elliot pushed on.
Luciano stared deeply at her before answering. "I do not care about any wretched slave. Not even a slutty one."
With that said he walked away to his room, he paused at the door and without turning back he said. "I'm sure you have work to do slave." One of his guards opened the door and he stepped into the room.
Eleanor fought to control the tears that threatened to spill out of her eyes. Her hands held her cloth in a tight fist as a tear dropped from her eyes.
Elliot smirked evilly at her before down the stairs whistling his way through.
She doesn't understand why she's hurt. Is it because of the Prince's cold gaze on her?
Or is it because of what he said? What he now thinks of her?
Why did he misunderstand the whole situation?
She's the victim here.
She angrily wiped the tears off her face and glared hard at the hallway where Elliot just walked out a few seconds ago.
*Bastard has definitely gotten what he wanted*
Eleanor stared at the door for a while before she turned around and walked away.

"Ughh, this is kinda heavy!" Gwen grunted as she lifted the sack filled with garbage, throwing it into the large bin. "And... That's it." She smiled at Eleanor who smiled back weakly at her.
"What do you say, we take a stroll round the palace after we're done with this. You know we get a lot of free time these days."
"Mmm." Eleanor hummed, picking her fingers absentmindedly.
Gwen glanced at her in suspicion at her sudden behaviour. "Hey, is there anything bothering you?"
"Huh?" Eleanor quirked her brows at her, blinking her eyes repeatedly. "No, no, I'm fine. Come on, let's go." Without waiting for a reply from her she walked away.
Gwen stood staring at the retreating figure of her friend with concern, she let out a deep breath before rushing off to meet up with her.

"Ugh, I never liked books. They're just so boring and annoying." Gwen whined, cleaning the big shelf filled with books. "I mean, why would somebody have a room filled with so many boring books!" She heaved out a frustrated sign and stood akimbo staring at the dusty shelf.
"How the hell do I clean this thing? Eleanor?" Gwen called when she spotted Eleanor standing by the window, staring into nothing.
"Eleanor? Eleanor," Gwen walked to her and slightly tapped her shoulder to gain her attention.
Eleanor jerked lightly and turned back to see Gwen standing behind her with a look of concern on her face.
"Are you okay? You zoned out." Gwen asked, placing her hands around her shoulders.
"Yeah, I'm fine. You don't have to worry." Eleanor said, smiling at her.
"You've been acting weird."
"It's okay. I'm just..... Hmph.. I'm fine. Come on, let's clean this up." She moved away from the window and began cleaning the shelves.

Eleanor kept her eyes on the floor as she walked into the hallway leading to the Prince's room. She felt her heart beating hard as she walked to the door.
She feels scared facing the prince alone, after the incident that happened earlier.
What would he be thinking of her now?
She shut off all thoughts from her head and bowed her head in greeting to the guards standing at the door before walking into the room.
Immediately she stepped into the room her eyes landed on the prince sitting on the chair behind the table with both of his index fingers resting on each side of his nose. He sat there staring at her with a menacing look on his face.
"Ma...mas.. master." She stuttered helplessly, feeling intimidated from his intense gaze on her.
Luciano kept his gaze on her not replying to her greeting. He wouldn't lie to himself, he hated what he saw today. He can't believe she'd stoop so low to be with that goddamn bastard.
He feels so disappointed in her. When he actually thought she was different from the other maids, this happened.
He should learn not to trust people anymore, especially the ones he knows nothing about.
Eleanor shifted from one foot to the other feeling uncomfortable from his gaze on her.
If looks could kill, she would definitely be fifteen feets beneath the ground.
He was glaring so hard at her like he all he wanted to do was strangle her to death.
He must feel very disappointed in her right now. She doesn't even want to guess what he thinks of her now.
He must think of her as a slut, like he called her earlier.
Eleanor's eyes glistened in tears at the reminder. What hurts the most is the fact that she's innocent of all that he thinks of her.
This must be a set up from Elliot. He must have done it to make the prince hate her more, which he succeeded in doing.
The prince definitely loathes her more than ever.
"Leave." He growled.
Eleanor glanced up at him immediately she heard him speak. She gasped when she saw his eyes red in anger.
"I.."
"Leave."
She shifted from one foot to another hesitantly before signing defeatedly turning around to leave the room.
As she heard the door knob about to turn it open she heard his cold voice call. "Wait."
Eleanor turned to see him sitting on the chair upright with his hands resting on the table, staring deeply at her.
He took a deep breath before ordering. "Now, tell me what the hell happened."
