Princess Lucia POV
"That's not all" the priestess said. A few minutes later, I felt something cold touch my eyes. The priestess massaged my eyes with something that felt leafy and wet.
"Don't think about anything" The priestess commanded again, "what do you see?"
"Blood!," I muttered. I saw blood splattered round the tomb of the young man to form a circle. A reddish-black mist was made to form and was soaring just above the height of the tomb. It covered the tomb like a shield.
"Do you know what this means?" The priestess asked in the middle of chanting her words I couldn't understand.
"Vampires, black magic!" The priestess nodded. This can only mean the vampire and the witches joined forces to kill this young man, but since they couldn't, they casted a spell. And they used black magic at that!. Who was this young man that both clans had to go through such great lengths to keep him unconscious?
I felt the pearl being taken from my hand, and the light that enveloped me suddenly disappeared. I felt dizzy and everything spun the moment I opened my eyes. They've been closed for too long.
"Who was that young man?" I asked the priestess who was still chanting her words while rotating a bead in her hand slowly. I don't notice it was there before.
"Alocaus." She replied.
Alocaus. I've never heard of such strange name before.
"Alocaus was a God, the God of neutrality. He was said to have the powers and qualities of the three clan. He could shift into a wolf, grow fangs like vampires, and cast spells like witches." The priestess said before she paused. She opened her eyes to look at me and they were pure white. It was shining so brightly that I had to use my hands to cover my eyes.
"Do not be afraid my child" This voice, it does not belong to the priestess. It was so warm and smooth. My ears jerking to hear the sound of it again.
"It is I, Hapoda, God of all the witches clan. We are four gods sent by the supreme ruler to watch over the earth. Valarus, The god of vampires, Eridal, the god of werewolves, and I, the God of witches." Ok...Where was this going?.
"As you already know Alocaus was The God of all the whole clan, you can call us sub-gods" Everything she was saying felt like she was narrating a story. Maybe because I've been locked all my life, but I've never heard of any of those gods she mentioned, including her herself, before. I did not know what to believe.
"What happened to Alocaus?"I found my tongue after some minutes of awkward silence.
"300 years ago. There was an unrest between the three clans. Power struggle. While the clans where arguing and fighting for more power. The gods were too. The unrest was so severe that Alocaus had to come down to earth from the great above. He had to settle it somehow before a big war will prevail. When he came down to earth, the gods realized something. While every one was powerful, no one was as powerful as Alocaus. He had the power of the three clans combined. The other gods were not happy. And they decided to eliminate Alocaus. The only way to defeat him, was by becoming more powerful than him or have equal power with him. Valarus and Eridal were very cunning and scheming gods. They tried persuading me to join them but I refused. They blackmailed me with war upon my clan, I was in a really tight spot. I had to choose between my clan and Alocaus. What more could I do, I chose my clan. Together we descended from the great above to the earth. We traced Alocaus and found out he was planning to reveal him self to the whole clans.
Let them know no one was as powerful as him and then end the unrest. Once they see that no matter the war they create among themselves, no one would be victorious even after killing the other, because there was still some one more powerful than them, someone they couldn't kill, they would end what ever enmity they had for each other. Back then each clan was situated in one place with only one leader. Not like now where the werewolves have different Alphas and packs or the witches that have different witch queens. Each clan was led by only one person. This made it easier for us manipulate the minds of the leaders of the clans. We knew Alocaus couldn't be killed. He was deemed invincible by the supreme God for the sake of peace. But there was one way to put him to eternal sleep. Since no one was as powerful as him, The only thing that can be up to par with his powers, was if the whole clan joined forces to destroy him. Valarus went to the vampire clan, Eridal to the werewolf clan and I to the witches clan.
We made our arrival known to them, and though they were shocked, they received us quite well. Then we moved on to telling them about Alocaus, manipulating their greedy minds for power into thinking Alocaus was going to use the power he had to control them and have them at his mercy. We told them Alocaus was planning on taking over the world and rule it. They wasted no time in asking for a way to kill him. There was no way unfortunately, but there was a way to put him to eternal sleep. By tapping into black magic. The day the plot to destroy Alocaus came. That was the day he was planning on inviting the leaders of the three clans. The supreme God above was going to get mad if he learnt of what was happening. We will be doomed if we use our powers on him so we could only rely on the leaders of the clans. Inside the mansion where the meeting with Alocaus and the clan leaders were supposed to hold, we had already placed a tomb. Immediately the three clans arrived and were settled, the witch queen tapped into the black magic and cast a powerful sleeping spell on Alocaus.
The spell was supposed to wear out after 3 hours, but because of how powerful Alocaus is, we had only 30 minutes to perform the ritual. We laid him inside the tomb, and started the ritual. The ritual consisted of blood from a powerful vampire, the fur of the most powerful werewolf, and a black magic spell to lock it in. The leader of the vampire clan cut his wrist, and walked round the tomb in a circle. After he was done, the leader of the werewolf clan brought out his already cut fur, and walked round the tomb as well, dropping the fur. We had 10 more minutes to go. The leader of the witch clan tapped from the black magic and she started chanting her spell. She was almost half done when Alocaus started stirring in his sleep. He was regaining consciousness. Unfortunately for him, the ritual had already been locked in before he could wake up. Every one was merry when the ritual was successful. They ate, drank and danced. I couldn't join in any of that. My concience tugging at my heart. Few months after we had locked Alocaus inside a never ending sleep, a big war broke out.
The same thing Alocaus was trying to prevent became a reality. In the struggle for power between the three clans, lives were lost. Families were trying to flee the scene. The clouds as if sensing the pains of the people began to rain down heavily. In the end the whole clans was scattered and everyone went into hiding. Many werewolves cultivated their power to become alpha and leaders of their respective packs. The witches formed different covens with different queens. The vampires were never to be seen."
That was some story. To think greed and power were the cause of the war in the past and it was still a problem now in the present, take a look at my mother for example. Makes me think what the future holds.
"Why are you telling me all this?" I asked. Yes, I now understood about our world and the past, but, this information was in no way useful or helpful to me.
"Because Alocaus is coming back for revenge, and only your daughter can stop him." Make that future daughter cause I was not pregnant yet.
"The supreme God was so angry when he learnt of what happened. There was nothing he could do to bring Alocaus back from the dead. But there was something I could do to make sure he comes back to life. Reincarnation."
