Jake's POV.
I sprang out of bed, beads of sweat plastered on my face. Nightmares.
The same nightmares have been taunting me since I can remember.
A man in a tomb, blood, spells, mist.
I would forget all that took place in the nightmare, but I could remember some bits and pieces.
I sighed and strutted to the bathroom. We returned from the honeymoon last night. Violet and I. I did a quick wash of my face and headed down stairs to fix something to eat before going to work.
And there she was, fixing breakfast. I never thought I'd see her first thing in the morning. Thought she'll stay cooped up in her room trying to figure this new environment out. But who was I kidding?. She had already made herself comfortable like this wasn't her first time here.
"Don't use that cup" I yelled as I ran to retrieve my most precious coffee cup from Violet. She was about to use it to drink water.
"Why? It's just a cup" Violet looked at me in disbelief.
"It's not just any cup. This is my favorite cup" I said as I shoved her to keep the cup back on the shelf.
"And what do you think you're doing in my kitchen!"
"Today is my turn to cook, remember?!" Oh yes, the contract. I would actually prefer if Violet stay far away from things that had to do with me, especially my food. But I signed the contract already.
"Get out of the kitchen" Violet sneered before she went back to chopping her onions.
I can't believe this girl, where did she get all those courage from?
Well, I had other important things to do, like finding Emily.
I finished vacuuming the house and some other stuffs, ate breakfast Violet cooked(she was a little bit of a good cook), and rushed to Violet's house. Let's make that former, she's living with me now.
"Good morning Mrs Helena" I greeted once Violet's mum opened the door.
"You came sooner than expected" She said as she let me in.
"I married your daughter as you requested. I would like to think you won't back out of the deal now" I tried to sound as polite as I could.
"Most definitely" She replied and I was glad I didn't get scammed. Not that I doubted her, just making sure.
"What do you know about Emily?" I asked the question I've been eager to ask ever since she came to meet me that day.
"What do you know about vampires?"
VIOLET'S POV
As far as I can remember, Jake and I both rejected the mate bond. What's with my wolf screaming the word 'MATE' anytime Jake gets in close range to me.
The first time I heard those words after the rejection was during the honey moon. The snack game, the kiss.
I remember going blank for a moment. Then he touched me, the pleasurable shock it sent down my spine was divine. I wanted to feel it again, but he removed his hand like I was some hot metal plate. For some reason I was disappointed. No it was not for some reason, the mate bond made me disappointed!.
I'm so confused right now. What happened to the rejection?. If the mate bond was not broken, that means Jake and I are still matessss!. Woah!.
I needed to talk to someone. I had already done the dishes and I was resting in my room. I picked my phone and dialed Kimberly's number. I gave up after giving her 20 missed calls. Don't ask me why I called that much, I was just anxious.

"Violet! Violet!!" I stirred in my sleep when I heard someone calling my name loudly. What's the fuss about?
I got down from the bed sleepily to see what the shouting was all about.
"Violet! Vi-"
"I'm here" I yelled when I saw Kimberly searching the whole house for me.
"Oh my God! Thank God you're safe, I thought something bad happened to you" Kimberly sobbed as she hugged me tightly.
"I. Can't. Breathe." I managed to say. Kimberly immediately released me from the hug.
"Why were you yelling my name like that?" I said as I went to the couch to sit down. I was still a bit sleepy.
"How can you ask me that?. You gave me 20 missed calls and ten text messages telling me to come quickly that you needed help. I thought something bad happened to you."
All the sleep disappeared from my eyes as I glared at her.
"Are you just seeing the messages?! I sent them almost six hours ago"
"I'm sorry. I went out for a few drinks and ended up..."
I raised my hand to stop her from talking any longer. I'm sure she went down with some random guy again. I flashed her a disappointed look.
"I just couldn't help it. The guy was so hot and handsome"
"When are you going to stop doing this to your self Kim?"
"Enough about me. What happened to you?"
That did the trick. I forgot about Kimberly boy problems when she asked that question.
"Oh Kim, you won't believe it if I tell you" I whined and frowned my face.
"Now I'm more curious"
"Brace your self" Kimberly nodded while looking at me with curious eyes.
"I don't think the mate bond between Jake and I broke"
"What do you mean?" Kimberly asked still confused.
"I'm trying to say Jake and I, might still be mates."
"What?!"
