Violet's POV
"What past? As for whom I am, I didn't bother to inquire. I'm not that interested." Things just keep popping up and it's really stressing me. After that tired long run, what I wanted now was to sink into my soft fluffy bed and go to Dreamland. Maybe things would be more peaceful there.
"Ever heard of God?" Kendrick questioned.
"Yeah. Humans worship him, so?" I said as I went to stand next to him. He was looking down at the fire that was still a bit orange and were looking more like tiny fire flies now.
"Did you see who was here?!" He asked completely deviating from the whole "God topic"
"Nope. I yelled to see if it was some lost person seeking help but the answer I got was a quenched fire"
"Good" he said but I didn't really put much thought to it.
"Why did you mention God?" He couldn't just leave me hanging, like bruh, start what you can finish.
"Ever heard of the three clans and their gods?" I shook my head affirming a `no` when I heard his question. The only god I knew was the moon goddess, never knew each clan had its own assigned god.
"Then it'll shock you to know that the moon goddess isn't the real God of the werewolf clan. She just fits perfectly after the real god disappeared. Since the werewolves turn on the full moon, the main god left her in control"
WOW! Another shocking revelation, still wonder how authentic his words are though. Could he be trusted?
"So where is the real god?" I asked.
"That's a topic for another day. What you need to know about is the fourth god" he said in deep thoughts as he looked ahead. I looked in the direction of his sight to see what he was looking at so intently but all I was met with were the different lights from high buildings. They gave the city a really nice glow.
"There were three gods" He started, "Hapoda, god of witches, she was the only female. Valarus, god of vampires, and Eridal, the god of werewolves. To create neutrality of power among the three god, there was Alocaus, god of the three gods. You understand what I'm saying right?" He turned to look at me. I nodded a yes even though I didn't understand a thing. Even if you explain this a hundred times, I don't think I'll understand so let's just move on to the important part.
"Do you remember anything now?" He looked at me with suspicious eyes.
"Something like what?"
"Alocaus, do you remember him?" Now wait. Why would I have memories about a god?. It's not like we had any special relationship with each other, where we meet to catch up or something.
"I don't know what you're talking about. Look," I took in a deep breath and said, "if you are just going to come here momentarily just to rumble up my thoughts, then I ask that this be our last meeting. First you said the witches were in trouble and that my mother was the only one who could help. Now you're talking about gods and asking absurd questions. If this is a game please stop it. It has ruined my life already." I said, the last part meaning my marriage with Jake.
He didn't say anything and just kept staring ahead with his eyes closed.
"I'm done" I muttered as I turned to leave.
"If you're still curious about the problem the witches are facing. You could ask your mum, since she's ever so righteous to you. Ask her about the curse she placed on our clan and ask her to free us." I stopped in my tracks when I heard this.
"What curse?."
"Our queen can't communicate with Hapoda anymore, she's the god of the witches if you can remember. From what we know, she got the blood of Alocaus and stopped whatever power our queen has. I'm sure she'll elaborate more once you ask her."
"Do you think I'd disturb my mum for something as little as that? Your queen deserves everything that came her way after what she had done to my mother!. You can just pick a new queen, this is not even supposed to be an issue" I scoffed before I turned into my wolf and ran back to my car. Good thing I recognized this place, I know it like the back of my palm.
I had spare clothes in my car so I just quickly changed and drove out from that place. Away from Kendrick and his stupid theories. They really do seem like theories.
I know I said I wasn't going to bother my mum with stupid talks, but what Kendrick said left an unanswered question mark in my head. I wanted to know more about the curse. Did she really do it?. Maybe I'll find my answer if I go visit. As for the reason for my visit, we could just fix up a lie.
"What are you doing here by this time?" My mum questioned with her eyes squinted sleepily. She clutched her night robe a little tightly and her hair was a little disheveled.
"I just missed you mum, besides it's not that late." I didn't actually have knowledge of the time and my jaws dropped when my mum said, "It's 2:45 am."
"No time is too late for me to visit my mum" I covered my lie with a nervous cackle. "Let's go in mum" I said as I wrapped my hands around her neck in a back hug.
"Did Jake do something wrong?. Did he hurt you?" She questioned when she came out of the kitchen with a glass of milk.
"No mum. He didn't do anything wrong. I seriously just missed you" I collected the glass of milk from her and took a sip, the warmness that came from the milk made me sink into the chair with a sigh of relief. Outside was really cold.
"I still feel you're lying. You're my daughter and I know you. You can always talk to me" my mum said as she took a sit next to me. I placed the glass of milk on my lap, with both hands keeping it in place. I was trying to look for the perfect way to phrase what was on my mind.
"Remember the witch guy from that time?" I asked.
"He came to you again?"
"Yes mum."
"What did he say?"
"You didn't tell me everything, right mum?" I looked her in the eye as I asked.
"I told you the important things."
"So the curse wasn't important?" She looked at me wide eyed as if she had just seen a ghost. Guess Kendrick wasn't lying after all.
