Chapter 62 The Fall

“The party will be good.”
Azaian saw the beaming happiness of her mother as she spoke her words. Amelia lightly comb her hair before she placed an accessory on top of the evenly parted hair of Azaiah. Her eyes went back to the mirror and smiled as she look at her eyes. She is happy too.
“All sorts of guests will be present. We must ensure you will look beautiful in their eyes” She then held her chin and turn it her way so she can faced Azaiah. “Mu daughter...”
Azaiah smiled back at her mother. “So they can look at me with tantalizing eyes?” She teased.
Amelia held her to make her body face the mirror once again. “Yes my daughter. Who knows how many hearts you can capture after tonight's event.”
She only lifted her lip to smile for a bit. There is only one person that she wants to capture.
—————————
"You look surpisingly beautiful.” Ehaan displayed a look of satisfaction upon finishing his gaze.
She frowned ar him. “You've been scanning me from head to toe.”
“And that Azaiah is a scan given to a beautiful girl just like you.” He was suave when he said it.
Azaiah's mouth hanged open. Before she closed it and stared at him in a disapproving look. “You are flirting.”
“Not even asking me if I am flirting? Really Azaiah? You can do better.”
“It's such a wonderful sight to see that you two are getting along pretty well.”
They tore their eyes off each other. The banter is done because of the interruption.
An approving look came from Azaiah's uncle and her mother is too happy with the expression she has on her face. Her eyes went to Ehaan in a sudden manner. Moving her face trying to show him something. Ehaan tilted his face for a bit before finally getting what she meant.
“They even speam with their eyes while staring at each other.” Her mother was dreamy tonight.
She then showed a half displeased reaction and looked at Ehaah.
"Well of course, we will leave you two alone. Come Amelia.” His uncle said and her mother immediately snake her arms around her uncle's readied arms.
“Enjoy the night, children.” His uncle looked at them before they disappear in front of them.
“I dont know about that.” Ehaan looked amused.
“Well- they are trying to pair me with almost anyone that pleased their eyes.”
Ehaan's expression turned into something bigger. He is just not amused he looked a bit confidently prideful with what he just heard.
“So you do believe their eyes?” He then shrugged something on his tie before looking back at her. “Well, Azaiah. I am sure that your mother and your uncle has a great keen of observance especially towards eyeing a good looking man.”
She was shaking her head. “I don't think so. It's not always right though.”
Ehaan still has the look before it went serious. Seeing his expression made her turn around, spanning herself she saw Galen.
“Galen.” She uttered his name slowly. She was making her eyes get all the chance available to admire his face before she saw his mother from behind.
The woman scanned her in an almost too scrutinizing way before she stared at her eyes. A stoic expression and an emotionless gaze are present. She can feel Ehaan closing their gap for a bit.
“You uttered my son's name in an exasperated manner yet you are with another man.” She was accusing Azaiah. Her words sounded so natural for her.
Her eyes went to Galen. He is not looking at her this time.
Ehaan touched her arms slightly to get het attention. It's indeed enough to get his attention. Her eyes fall on her. “Let's get yourself out of this situation.” He whispered.
Ehaan guided her. She then let herself be guided because her mind is blank this time.
“Disrespectful.” The woman commented.
Azaian felt her body stilled at the comment.
“She never even tried to answer. That is not even decent.”
“Mom that is enough.”
The reply came from Galen. Ehaan's eyes lay on her but his jaws are clenching.
“Ehaan.” She hold him back with her hands.
Her mother sashayed to butt in. She was walking elegantly in her heels but the clangs are pointed with force as she walks. She was checking her. Before her eyes went to Ehaan signalling him something. Ehaan pulled her back.
“What is supposed to be the problem here?” Her mother used the kind of tone she uses when she's not liking the person she is talking too. Her voiced is raised for a bit. And she knew her mother is just holding herself back to maintain her grace.
“Oh nothing big, Amelia. And it is something you can solve . I think your child forgot her manners.”
Her body froze and Ehaan's tightened his grip on hers. She let her body turn towards them. She saw her mother's unwelcoming smile.
With her chin up her lips moved. “Oh really?” Her tone is loathing with distaste “I never knew you were too concerned about proper manners when you yourself failed at exercising that in you.” Amelia stares at Galen. Her look changed this time. She eyed the boy with a warm expression. “Galen dear. You are an intelligent, a well-composed child. I know you know exactly what to do with your mother. Especially now that I think she is misbehaving unstably because of her condition.” She said it almost too sweetly.
Murmurs of questions are heard because of her mother's comment. Galen's mother gasp in shocked as she stared at Amelia. Ehaan's reasuring gaze is the only thing that is reasonable for Azaiah.
——————————
“That woman. It was such a disgraceful act, Rufus.”
Her mother was complaining over what happened. She was sitting on the settee comfortably when both individuals stare at her.
“Be honest my child. Did her comments get through you?” She can hear the worry on her mother's voice. His uncle is staring at her with insinuating the same thing.
“No. I am just shock. She was nice to me and the sudden change in her behavior is odd.” It surprised her because Galen's mom is always been good to her.
“She's going crazy. That woman is insane. Forget about her darling. Your photoshoot is tomorrow.” Her Mom made her stand putting her hands on Azaiah's shoulder she gave her an reassuring smile. “So go ahead and do all your skin care routine and have a good night sleep.” Her mother kissed both sides of your chicks.
She adore her mother's gesture and because of that she leaned to give her a hug. “Good night, Mom.” She then turn her eyes to her uncle to say something. “Good night, Uncle.”
Her uncle smiled. She gave them a look before she went out of the room.
