She waited for me to answer. Does she know anything about whatever Lucas and I have?
She laughed again and looked at me teasingly, "Nevermind. Besides, whatever status you have with my brother, I don't care. He's a bit you know," she stopped and laugh at his brother. "She chickens out a lot. So if ever you find him really slow, I hope you just give him a time," she continued.
I laughed a bit at what she said. I don't know how I will tell her that he's not even courting me so I just laugh it off. After a while, I felt more comfortable with her. We continued talking about different stuffs and I felt at peace.
"Are you really that quiet? I mean, I'm glad you're talking to me already but then I expected more. Lucas said that you're a bit snob but then he also said that you're not quiet. I'm kind of wondering now if you are really the one that he ments," she exlaimed.
I smiled before answering her. I still kind of feel shy but then, it's even embarrassing if I won't show her kindness right?
"Well, I'm still confused. When I woke up earlier today, my best friend just informed me that I have to go somewhere. I only knew he's involved when I saw him there and then we left."
"Right," she nodded. "I was informed with this plan by Lucas last night. Though, he said that it isn't sure yet but he wants me to prepare. And to tell you honestly, I am really excited that's why I really prepared everything for you. You know, every time my brother and I will see each other he talks about you. So I'm really curious, he's not talkative but he talks a lot when it's you. When he mentioned your name, he won't stop."
She continued talking about his brother. She looks happy while doing so, he adores him so much. And even though I get shy and embarrassed with all this stories that I kept on hearing, I still want to know more so I laughed with her and listened really well.
"He never mention you or any of his family. That's why I was shocked when ram told me we're going here. I only knew that he has a sister today when we're on our way here.Though, I never really asked so," I admitted shyly.
"Yeah, I know. He never really mention anything about us. He's like that and I'm used to it. Our parents are in abroad, while me and Lucas decided to stay here in the Philippines. This is our house but he likes to stay on his confo. He said he wants to stay there so he could be around our cousin. She's stubborn and they're close so he wants to look after her. We grow up together with her so she really listens to him. That's why I'm alone in here with our trusted people," she explained.
With all the informations that I got about Lucas and their family, there's only one thing that bothers me. He's rich. But then, if he is, why would he be Samantha's driver?
I was about to dwell on that thought but Harriet continued her stories.
"My brother is really protective with our cousin. They're really closed to each other because they grew up together. If they didn't choose to study on different places and pursue his business, they might be inseperable. You know what, Lucas almost choose to live with our cousin in Australia and leave his life here just so he could guide her. If only he wasn't stopped my our cousin's mother, then he'll really go after her. And now that she's back, he dedicated his life again to guide and protect her," she added.
I felt stiff. I don't know why I suddenly felt uneasy. I wanted to ask something but I tried my best to stop myself. I wanted answers but I'm scared to know something that I wasn't prepared. Shit, I wish I am wrong.
"Anyways, let's get back to you and my brother. I'm really happy you came. Lucas isn't like that before. He's always busy with his work, it's his world. He only got few friends which is the guys earlier because he's always serious. Everything he does is planned and calculated. Sometimes, I get sad for him. He's very stiff, I mean, he never done anything that he doesn't think of. It should be planned always. Sometimes, I wanted to blame our parents for making him like that. He grew up with so much rules that he has to follow. He's the only guy in my father's side so the pressure of owning our business is on him. That's why I'm really happy when you came. He began to loosen up. He changed. He became soft and carefree. He's opening himself more to the world and I'm really happy for him," I saw how sinsere she while talking about his brother. Her love for him is really evident.
"I never knew he's always serious," I commented.
"Huh? What do you mean?" she asked confused. And then I smiled at my thought. He's always smiling at me back then. He also keeps on talking to me even though I don't want to talk to him.
"He's never been snob to me also. I mean he's always the one approaching me," I added.
I saw how shocked she is as she stare at me. I suddenly felt embarrassed that I even told her that. So he isn't really like that huh?
"Omg! I knew it! He really likes you then? Ah! My brother is finally growing up!" she excitedly said.
I laughed with how exaggerated she reacted.
"From now on consider me as your sister okay? Call me Arrie. Welcome to the family!" she said and hugged me. I felt my cheeks turned red as she hugged me tight.
Is she really like this? Gosh! What if Lucas misunderstood this? What if he thinks that I made him look like he likes me?
I wanted to scold myself for sharing that to his sister but I couldn't. There's something in me that feels happy that his sister is like this towards me. I feel my heart warm and happy but I couldn't really point out everything in me.
"Just please, promise me. I should be the first one to know if you two is together already okay? I'm excited for the both of you. I'm sure Sam would be shock if she knew about you. She's not used to Lucas being busy and protective with someone else aside from her," she said continuously.
My smile suddenly faded as I heard that name. I wasn't sure if my thoughts are right but I suddenly felt all my energy went down. It felt so heavy. I hope I wasn't right. I don't think I could handle that.
