"Whatever we can come up with will have to happen tomorrow. Just calm down first. Even if we find her tonight we can not go to her because I am sure Maco will set a trap for us there." I explained.
"Maco had mentioned a trap earlier." Melanie confirmed.
"You see?" I asked Kyle.
"Okay, I will wait till tomorrow." Kyle agreed.
"No problem then?" I asked him.
"For now." Kyle answered. I sighed then turned my attention to Melanie.
"There's another issue." I said to Melanie.
"What issue?" Melanie asked.
"The people who live here will definitely notice Delanie's absence. I need you to pretend to be he in the mean time." I said to Melanie.
"How is it possible you all life here anyways?" Melanie asked.
"We lied our way in." I answered.
"Do you agree to fake being Delanie for a while?" I asked her again.
"No problem. It's totally fine by me." Melanie replied.
"The room next to ours at the right is that of Delanie's. That is where you will sleep." I said to Melanie.
"I guess I will be going now. Good night." Melanie said.
"Good night." I replied her and she left our room.
"Don't worry. We'll get Delanie back too." I assured Kyle once more.
(KYLE POV):
...the next morning...
I was the very fist one to get up from bed and I made sure Denver didn't stay asleep from that very moment.
"Wake up. Wake up." I said to Kyle who shued me away with his hand. I lifted him from bed and threw him against the wall.
"Kyle! Why did you do that?!" Denver shouted.
"I m awake now and you can not sleep in." Kyle said.
"Kyle. I am not a demon. You made me human when my powers were taken away remember? Anything you do will hurt a lot worse." Denver said.
"Yeah. That reminds me, you haven't withdrawn your powers from Melanie." I said.
"How are you supposed to help me in the form of a useless human?" I asked Denver.
"Can't I just rest some more?" Denver said and yawned.
"No!" I shouted into his face.
"Okay okay." Denver said, giving in to my will.
Denver got on his feet and left the room with me but then we noticed Kelvin and his mother, Mary, were still unconscious on the floor. I used my powers to teleport them to their rooms and went ahead with Denver to Melanie's room.
Melanie herself was still asleep.
"At least let her sleep. Who knows if Maco even allowed her to blink right?" Denver said.
I glared at him then he frowned and went ahead to wake Melanie.
"Good morning." Melanie greeted, still on the bed and her eyes closed.
"You were supposed to fake being Delanie. How come you are still in bed?" I asked her.
"It's not like I got proper sleep while I was with Maco." Melanie sid and sat up in bed.
"I told you so." Denver whispered to me.
"I don't care how much sleep was deprived of you. While you are here and Delanie is out there suffering from whatever, I will also deprive you of proper sleep." I said to both Melanie and Denver.
Melanie gave me a weird look. "What?!" I asked, already sick of her gaze.
"Are you in a relationship with my sister?" Melanie said, suspicious.
"Look how red your cheeks have become. You better simmer down." Denver said.
Denver was right as I could already feel my cheeks heating up.
"Shut up you two! Listen. Here is the crystal." I said and got it out in front of Denver.
I saw Melanie stare and smirk and not in a good way. Something in me tingled and i knew danger was not far ahead. I changed the crystal into a fake one with my powers then gave it to Denver.
"Okay Melanie. Let's do this." Denver said.
"You have to both concentrate. No one look away till it's all done." I instructed and kept watch on Melanie.
"Wait." Melanie said.
"What is it?" Denver asked.
"Yes, what is it." I asked.
"Can I be the one to hold the crystal?" Melanie asked.
"Why?" Denver asked her. It seemed Denver suspected something as well.
"It's just that I can't focus on an object unless i am the one holding it." Melanie said.
Denver looked at me and I nodded. He seemed to have gotten the idea.
"Okay. That is understandable." Denver said to Melanie, giving her the crystal.
As soon as Melanie held it in her hands, a demon came out of her body laughing. "Fools." it said.
"Return that!" I ordered it and tried to attack but it dodged.
"Never! My master will be please to see this. Consider the other human dead if you fail to come with this one and your brother." the demon warned me.
Denver pounced at him and at that instant the demon disappeared.
"What's going on?" Melanie asked, rubbing against her head.
"You were possessed the whole time. It just came out of you." I answered.
"Are you okay?" Denver rushed to ask Melanie.
"I'm fine i guess." Melanie answered.
"We have to leave this place." I said.
"What about Mary and Kelvin?" Denver asked.
"They will be fine. I just wiped out their memory of us ever existing. Even if Maco comes here he won't get anything. Now we have to leave before he realizes that the crystal his minion got him is fake." I said and teleported the three of us somewhere else.
"Which place is this?" Denver asked.
"His secret garden." Melanie answered Denver and smiled at me.
"What's going on here? How come Melanie knows about the secret garden and I don't?" Denver asked with emphasis on the word 'secret'.
"That's our little secret." I said to Denver and grinned.
"Don't let him get to you Denver." Melanie said and laughed.
I crossed my arms together and pouted. "I think that's enough pouting for tonight baby brother." I said, in a way that annoyed him.
"You of all people should know I am not a baby. You brought us to a garden that just you and Melanie know about but then where are we going to stay? We need a shelter not grass." Denver said.
"First of all, these aren't grasses. Secondly, I already have a shelter here." I said and snapped my fingers and a little cottage emerged from the ground.
