"If truths were as sweet as lies, humans will always tell it but lies are satisfiable to those who tell it. Lies are one sided. Truths are beneficiary to both sides yet they are painful." Helen said.
"Is there a truth we don't know?" Delanie asked Helen.
"There has always been a hidden truth between you, your sister, Denver, and Kyle. A truth that will shtter you all completely." Helen answered.
"A truth we don't need to hear." Denver stated.
"What do you want from us then?" I asked, despite Denver's opposing the idea.
"I want Maco's head and the crystal ball." Helen said.
"A crystal ball, I can understand. Why do you need the head of Maco?" Kyle asked.
"No reason at all. I just think it will make a nice decoration for my hut, don't you?" Helen said in response to Kyle.
Helen laughed again. Her laughter was so annoying that i felt so much like shoving ear plugs deep down into my ears. I haven't heard a laugh worse than that in my life.
"I don't think we should go through with this. Everything feels wrong." Denver said.
"If it makes your decision easier, I can give you something that will make your task easier." Helen said.
"What?" Kyle asked.
"Kyle!" Denver said.
"I think maybe we can give this a shot. What truth could she possible say that would harm us? Truth is nothing but words." Kyle said.
"Words that can change one's life forever. I don't think you understand what we are dealing with here." Denver said to Kyle.
"Oh, I very well understand Denver. Just think about this for once . Don't you think it will be worth it if we have something that can assure us Maco's defeat? I mean, think about the sisters. Do you want to put their life in danger? We will not always be with them. We both have to face Maco together but what about their safety in the process?" Kyle said to Denver.
Denver found himself deep in thought. This was a very difficult decision for him to make.
"Well? I don't have all day." Helen saiid to Denver.
"What's the catch?" Denver asked Helen. Helen smiled a creepy smile and bent her head to the side.
"What makes you think there is one?" Helen asked Denver.
"For one, you are avoiding a yes or no answer and secondly, there is always a catch." Denver answered Helen.
"Smart boy." Helen said.
"She is older than you?" Delenie asked Denver.
"Apparently, yes." Denver answered.
"If you really want to know the catch then fine. I will tell you all." Helen said and walked circles around us.
"Whoever hands over the crystal ball to me is handing over all his powers to me at that same time." Helen said.
I gasped when I heard the catch. For a moment there it seemed like my heart had seized. Everyone was shocked. Denver and Kyle didn't even turn to look at each other.
"What will you give us and how will it make defeating Maco easier?" Denver asked Helen.
"This." Helen answered, revealing a silver mirror.
"What does it do? It's just a mirror." Delanie said.
"This is no ordinary mirror child. This is a special mirror that allows one see into the future. It is the last existing of it's kind." Helen said to Delanie.
"Give us some time to think about it." Denver said.
"As you wish. Just ring the bell when you have decided." Helen said and disappeared.
"What bell?" I questioned after she was gone. A bell appeared at the same spot she had vanished from.
"I guess that answered your question." Delanie said.
"I know this iss a tough one. Please take your time. We are in no rush." I said to Denver.
"It's not a tough decision Melanie." Denver said to me.
"You've made up your mind so soon?" Delanie asked him.
"No." he answered.
"I'm just saying that the options are very clear." Denver stated.
"How do you mean?" Kyle asked.
"She said if we get her Maco's head and the crystal ball that she will tell us a truth. She also added that she would give us something to help defeat Maco and it turned out to be a magic mirror. The catch being that whoever places the crystal in her hand looses all his powers." Denver explained from the beginning.
"And?" I asked Denver.
"Don't you all see what she is picking at? There is soething unknown to us that if she tells us we wouldn't thinktwice about death. Whoever places the crystal ball on her hands won't just loose his powers but will also die as the years catch up with him." Denver said.
"We will not take her offer to help." Denver added.
"Exactly how sure are you of your words?" Kyle asked Denver.
"Very sure. Reason it. Everything Helen ssays and does it only to her own benefit and never to those that she helps. It has been that way ever since." Denver said.
"So no mirror that sees the future?" Delanie asked.
"Yes. No mirror." Denver answered her.
"She has her own powers doesn't she? Why not get Maco's head on her own?" I asked.
"She can actually do that in an instant but she won't." Kyle said.
"Why not?" I asked him.
"She says it's much more fun to make others do it for her. Helen loves playing games. Deadly games." Kyle said.
"We will do this on our own. We don't need her help." Denver stated.
"You know Helen will always have her way. She'd sabotage our chances if that's what it takes." Kyle said to Denver.
"Then we will be ready for her." Denver said to Kyle. "Ring the bell." Denver added.
Kyle rang the bell and Helen appeared at the first hit.
"We have made our decision." Denver said.
"And?" Helen asked.
"We do not need your help." Denver replied.
"I was expecting you'd say that." Helen stated then turned away from us.
"I won't waste my words though. All I can say is that you will still need me and by that time you'd not even give your death a second thought." Helen said to Denver and vanished through the door.
"What was that supposed to mean?" Kyle questioned.
"I don't know. I don't know at all." Denver answered.
