"No! Delanie please donn't do that!" Melanie shouted.
Delanie made a zipping sign in front of Melanie and Melanie couldn't open her mouth anymore. Of course once again Kyle was the one who did it.
"Under the condition that you will not harm me." Delanie said to Kyle.
"Selfish." Maco said.
"I like it." he added.
"Where is the crystal ball?" Maco asked.
Delanie stretched forth her hand in front of Maco and Kyle made the crystal bad appear on her hand. This was the moment we have been waiting for.
Maco checked the crystal ball and seeing it wasn't fake he put it between himself and Delanie. "Now keep your eyes on the ball. Don't get distracted." Maco said.
Still invisible, I stood in front of Delanie just as we had planned. Maco's powers were transferring to me but he had no clue of it.
Just when we all thought that nothing could possibly go wrong, the idiot demon I and Kyle had punched earlier ran in and happened to knock me over while I was looking into the crystal with Maco. I fell back, hitting against Delanie who the demon hadn't touched and she too fell back.
"What is wrong with you?!" Maco yelled at the demon. Maco stepped forward to where Delanie was and while he did he stepped on my leg and almost fell himself.
"What is going on here?!" Maco shouted.
Seeing the gig was up, I revealed myself.
"So all this was a scam?!" Maco shouted. I got up on my feet. I had absorb some of my powers back from Maco.
"This can not be happening!" Maco yelled and attacked me. It was an equal match and seeing that he couldn't defeat me he grabbed hold of both Delanie and Melanie.
"No!" I exclaimed.
"Give it up Denver." Maco said, breathing heavily.
"If you come anywhere close to me I will kill them both." Maco said.
"Let them go Maco. Your enmity is with me. Not them." I said.
"My enmity is not just with you. My enmity is with everything you love and everything you ever stood for! I have always hated you and I always will." Maco replied.
"Growing the hatred of your brother against you still didn't get me what I wanted. Now I will take everything you have." Maco added.
Kyle appeared behind Maco, stabbing a knife through his heart from behind. At the same time, Maco made sure to dig his claws into Melanie's stomach before falling to his death.
"Melanie!" I shouted her name.
I rushed forward and caught her in my arms before her body could hit the floor.
"Melanie!" I cried.
Blood gushed out of her open mouth. "No... No no no no! Melanie! Don't leave me! Wake up!" I cried. My entire face was covered in tears already.
"D... D..." Melanie struggled to speak. She then stopped moving all of a sudden. I checked to see if she was breathing but she wasn't. It was like my whole world had shut down right before my eyes.
"Melanie!" I shouted, holding her in a tight hug. I cried and cried my heart out. The pain just wouldn't leave me.
"Denver." I heard Kyle call my name.
"Tell her to stop ignoring me." I said to Kyle.
"Denver... She... She's gone..." Kyle said with difficulty.
I laughed at his words. "Don't tell me you are this stupid Kyle. Melanie is still here. She is still alive and she has her whole life to live." I said to Kyle.
Kyle knelt down next to me. "No Denver. She's gone." Kyle said. I grabbed Kyle and hugged him. He hugged me back and kept patting my back.
Delanie stood where she was, crying.
"I told you didn't I?" I heard a voice say. We all turned to see it was Helen.
"Now you need me. As I said before, you will not even give death a second thought." Helen added.
"Can you... bring her back?" I asked Helen.
"She hasn't necessarily gone anywhere so I can bring her back into her body. The real question is if you are ready to hear the truth." Helen said to me.
"Are you sure about this Denver?" Kyle asked me.
"What's the point about it if i'd loose my life at the end anyways? I wish I knew this would happen. I would have taken Helen's offer earlier but just look where it all led." I said to Kyle.
"I couldn't protect her. What kind of a demon am I if I can't use my powers the way I'm supposed to?" I asked.
"Very well then." Helen said.
Helen cast a spell which took forty minutes to perfect as we all waited so anxiously. Melanie woke up and I ran to he and held her to myself in tears.
"What happened? I died... I died right?" Melanie asked, looking distraught.
"No. No you were never dead. You never died." I said to her, crying.
"I died!" Denver what did you do?! Are you going to sacrifice your life because of me?!" Melanie yelled at me but I smiled back at her and placed my hand on her cheek.
I looked into Melanie's eyes teary eyed and she too began to cry. Melanie started to hit me continuously on the chest as she cried.
"What is wrong with you?! Why did you do that? I already paid the price for all of us?! Why did you do that?!" Melanie shouted.
"What do you mean paid the price? What price are you talking about?" Delanie asked.
Melanie had a face as if she just said that by mistake.
"Melanie. What price were you just speaking of?" I myself asked.
Already discovered, Melanie had no choice but to speak up.
"After Helen left in front of us she still appeared to me in private and... She told me that one of our lives will surely be taken in this fight. I asked her who and she said it would be you. That's when I asked if it could be avoided. Helen said that it could as long as someone else died in your place Denver." Melanie explained.
"Melanie! Helen just used you to get what she wants!" Kyle yelled.Download Novelah App
