Chapter 13: How to Switch Back

"Do whatever you want," huh? He was in her body—if he did anything reckless, she would be the one suffering the consequences.
Without hesitation, Hoàng Hải Vân rushed to the door, locked it, and firmly said:
"You’re not leaving. We need to talk."
Trần Ngọc Linh raised an eyebrow in mild surprise but quickly smirked. Taking slow, deliberate steps toward her, he casually ran a hand over the hem of his dress and teased:
" I get it. You want us to “talk” in your way, right?"
Hoàng Hải Vân stiffened, her pulse quickening. She immediately swatted his hand away and moved aside.
"Stop joking around! I’m serious."
Seeing her tense reaction, Trần Ngọc Linh let out a small chuckle and finally settled into a chair, gesturing for her to continue.
She took a deep breath and said,
"I don’t want to stay in your body either. It’s uncomfortable. We need to find a way to switch back."
Trần Ngọc Linh nodded nonchalantly.
·
Fine by me.
·
·
But before that happens, I need you to promise me something.
·
A knowing smile crossed his lips as he leaned back lazily.
"Let me guess. You want me to swear not to kill anyone?"
Hoàng Hải Vân nodded without hesitation.
For a moment, he said nothing, simply lifting his hand and gazing at it—long fingers, flawless skin. It was a beautiful hand, almost a shame if it were ever stained with blood. Then, he spoke, his voice calm and composed:
"I can agree to that… but only if you give me something in return."
Her stomach tightened.
" What do you want?"
Trần Ngọc Linh closed the distance between them, his dark eyes holding hers captive.
" Don’t worry, I won’t ask much. Just… let things happen naturally."
A heavy silence fell between them. Hoàng Hải Vân could feel her pulse drumming in her ears. She knew better than anyone—Trần Ngọc Linh wasn’t the type to make compromises without reason.
He was in her body. She was in his. No matter how much she resisted, their fates were now tangled together.
She hesitated. If he was going to be in her body, then the safest option was to keep him under her watch.
Under the dim glow of the lanterns, the night unfolded in a blur of sensations—warmth, breathlessness, an undeniable pull neither of them could resist.
Before everything faded into a haze, she whispered one last plea:
"Promise me… don’t use my body to do this with someone else."
Through ragged breaths, Trần Ngọc Linh’s voice broke through the silence:
"Of course… I won’t."

The next morning, they woke up with not a single piece of clothing on. Even after a long sleep, Hoàng Hải Vân still felt exhausted. Last night, he had gone at it multiple times—something she never could have imagined. It made sense that his body could handle it, but what surprised her more was that her original body had been just as energetic, keeping up with him until the very end.
Before this, Hoàng Hải Vân had felt awkward even looking at the body she was inhabiting, let alone touching it. But after last night, there was nothing left to be shy about. She had experienced everything from A to Z. From now on, she figured she could live with this situation. And Trần Ngọc Linh, having already crossed that line, seemed just as comfortable seeing her original body every day.
As she attempted to get up, Trần Ngọc Linh suddenly pulled her into an embrace.
"It was your first time, wasn’t it? I could tell—it really hurt."
She pushed him away and stood up.
"You’re really twisted, you know that? Sleeping with your own body?"
Trần Ngọc Linh casually touched the white bedsheets, still stained with traces of blood, and smirked.
" Close your eyes, and does it even matter whose body is whose? All that’s left is pure pleasure."
Her face heated up instantly. This brat was only eighteen, yet he spoke like someone far more experienced—and far more perverted.
She tossed him a dress to put on before heading to the bathroom to freshen up and change into something else.
Once they were both ready, they made their way to the dining room. As soon as Trần Anh Hùng and Tống Thanh Phong saw them, their eyes widened in shock.
Trần Ngọc Linh, without hesitation, took the main seat at the table—the seat of the master. Trần Anh Hùng’s expression darkened as he frowned in irritation.
"You’re a guest. Show some manners. Sit over there. - He gestured toward another chair."
Trần Ngọc Linh, however, responded calmly:
"Trần Anh Hùng, I am the real Trần Ngọc Linh."
Both men exchanged glances before turning to Hoàng Hải Vân for confirmation. She nodded slightly and explained:
" I’m Hoàng Hải Vân inside Trần Ngọc Linh’s body. We need your help to switch back."
If they had told an ordinary person this, they would’ve been laughed at for spouting nonsense. But these two believed them instantly.
Tống Thanh Phong leaned forward, intrigued.
"Alright, tell me exactly what happened when you two switched bodies."
Trần Ngọc Linh narrowed his eyes, trying to recall the moment.
"There was lightning… gunfire… I pulled her close to shield her… hit my head on the ground… and now, we’re here."
Tống Thanh Phong thought for a moment, then suddenly smirked mischievously.
·"You know… maybe the problem was the “hugging” part. How about you two try getting even closer? If your bodies have absolutely no distance between them, maybe your souls will reconnect."
His tone was teasing, but Trần Ngọc Linh, instead of dismissing the idea, answered seriously:
"We already did… last night."
