14. Quarrel

Spending time together like this felt so good. But Sae suddenly recalled her encounter with Ness. Somehow she felt her guilt intensifying more than ever.
Sae's eyes glanced at Ririka who was leaning on her shoulder comfortably. Finding that she seemed to be enjoying her time together. Making him “unable to close his eyes” that he was having an affair with a woman who already belonged to another man.
“Ririka,” Sae called out.
“Hm, what's wrong?” replied Ririka who still looked comfortable leaning on Sae's shoulder.
“Did you ever think that our relationship. could end at any time? If that happens, have you prepared for it?” asked Sae with her voice sounding so calm.
Sae might be asking in a tone of voice that sounded ordinary. But Ririka could feel her anxiety suddenly becoming uncontrollable.
“Why are you suddenly asking such a difficult question?” Ririka's voice sounded panicked. Even now she was no longer leaning on Sae's shoulder. She changed her position and was now facing her dark lover.
Sae's face looked flat. It was hard to pinpoint exactly what kind of feeling she was having right now.
“Because we should talk about this more often. You must know very well how our relationship was established in an abnormal way. It's clear that each of us is already thinking about how the end of this relationship will play out,” Sae said.
“That... it surprised me that you're suddenly talking like this. I wouldn't have minded, if only you hadn't asked me to talk about something like this in such a happy atmosphere.” Ririka felt disappointed that Sae seemed to be asking her a question that was not appropriate to ask in an atmosphere when they were enjoying being together like this.
“So when is the best time for us to talk to each other? Aren't we always meeting in a discreet way and it's hard to adjust the time? I don't think there's a good time for us to choose, when we talk about how our relationship will end.” As usual Sae was very straightforward with her words, not wanting to beat around the bush in expressing her thoughts.
Ririka had to quickly realize that their relationship was not going to work out like a normal couple's relationship. Sae is currently trying to talk about her relationship with Ririka. But it looks like Ririka chose to be evasive. The woman seemed to keep avoiding and didn't seem to want to continue the sensitive topic of conversation.
“Well you're right. But your question is really inappropriate to ask right now. Because right now I'm really enjoying my time with you!” Ririka's voice sounded slightly raised, indicating that the woman's temper was starting to flare up.
A slight frown appeared on Sae's forehead. Ririka was really stubborn and seemed unwilling to be openly discussed. And this was enough to provoke her patience.
“Ririka I really don't know what's on your mind. You seem like you want to continue living in your beautiful dream. But know that your dreams are ridiculous. You won't be able to stay in a relationship with a man other than your husband forever. Sooner or later our relationship will end,” Sae said bitterly. Not caring that she was saying those words to Ririka, Sae chose to be blunt with her words.
Ririka bit her lip. A sense of disappointment crept into her heart. She already knew Sae's blunt nature, but this time, she felt offended by the man's words.
“See you just keep quiet like this. And this makes it even harder for me to understand your situation. If only you would face all this directly, I don't think I would continue to be a fool like this,” Sae continued.
“Enough! You've gone too far this time,” snapped an unhappy Ririka.
Sae raised one eyebrow. “You can only open your mouth when provoked first. Gosh how tiring it is to have to deal with someone like you who keeps testing my patience. Ririka knows that the other day, I met your husband by accident. We even chatted together, and I had to pretend like I didn't recognize your husband. It's very sad that I had to act like a fool, talking familiarly to your husband.” Insinuation after insinuation kept coming out of Sae's mouth.
Hearing the insinuations that kept coming out of Sae's mouth. Making Ririka feel offended, the woman rose to her feet and glared at Sae.
“You shouldn't have said yes to my invitation this time. You're just ruining the atmosphere and making things worse. You're such an asshole!” Ririka exclaimed before walking away.
Seeing Ririka leave, Sa just stayed silent as she didn't seem to want to rush from her place to try and catch up with Ririka.
Seeing Ririka leave with a feeling of anger, her words just now echoed in his mind like a relentless drum beat. He could feel his emotions mixed together, spinning inside him, guilt, frustration and sadness haunting him. It was only when Ririka disappeared from his sight that he realized, the weight of his actions felt so heavy on his shoulders.
Sae who still chose not to move from her spot. Replaying the scathing words he had spoken earlier. Ririka must have taken offense to his words. She had spoken out of turn, driven by her own insecurities and fears, and now she had to face the consequences.
