“ So what about you?, A personal Assistant?, you're just full of surprises....”
She said, sipping her coffee with her legs crossed, her eyes staring into mine, looking like the younger version of my mom, the same eyes and beautiful shoulders making her stand out if she was to be in a set of crowds.
A smile crept in into my face, taking my mind off the thoughts about about Lydia, though the conversation have something to do with her, but this time, in a positive way, bringing smile onto my lips again.
“ Yeah.... Turns out I never saw it coming too, it just happened all of a sudden to my surprise also, I never know that a secretary will ever come in handy into my life, but as it seems now, things happens to turn more around, promoting her from a secretary to a personal Assistant because I believed she was good at it, I would have employed someone else for the job, but she decided to take up with it, saying that she can handle it all.....”.
“ Yeah.... That sounds like Lydia, ready to take it all in, really admiring....”.
I drank down my yoghurt, realizing I just shared it all with her, she's definitely going to just relax now as we'll head into small talks, which is fine by me, especially if it's from someone as reasonable as her, the small talk was worth it.
“ Regarding the strong confession you made before me at noon, that was strong.... I wasn't surprised about your confidence, I was just surprised that David whom I have always known that doesn't look at any lady romantically was standing right here confessing her feelings, that's really strong....”.
Remembering how I felt in the afternoon at that scene, it looks like something I have really got to do, if I don't, then I might lose her. I didn't throw out everything to her, but I just gave her the idea that her having another man's child which also belongs to her is no issue for me, she's much of a good woman to just overlook, she has the capabilities to become a mother who looks after the family.
“ I don't think there's still any need for that, she's too good for someone like me, she has an understandable past which wasn't really a good news to what had happened to her, but the fact that I love her and have seen all she's been through, including my weekend life..... I don't think there's any chance of that working for us ”.
“ I don't know what that might have happened between you guys, but I have no role to play here..... When I saw her, I was first overjoyed seeing her again, but later she told me that she wouldn't be staying for long, that she feels like she has done to someone what his former boyfriend did to her, so she was on the verge of quitting..... I never thought that the someone she was talking about was you, I know girls can't hurt you emotionally, so you definitely wasn't the person she was referring to, until I saw you sharing your feelings to her, that's when I realized that she had decided to quit because of you..... Just some story that first felt like movies, but has now become a reality.....”.
No way.... Lydia was planning on quitting?, Oh God.... I really might've messed up her peace of mind, taking away the friendship bond that run between us, because I was trying to protect myself from falling for her again.
“ Now I don't know what to do, really have to make it up to her, but how?....”.
“ Don't worry brother, I believe things will turn out fine, and regarding the way you think you're not worth her or deserve her, I would only say you should stop disregarding your quality, you're one of the best men in this world I know, one who will be a good father figure and also a good husband, but I don't have to get ahead of myself, I just feel good watching from the sidelines and how things play out.....”.
That's my sister, always the one who knows everything going on, yet just stay by the side watching, being invisible like she knows nothing. That's a quality mom posses too, if not that we're her kids, she wouldn't be so dramatic and funny towards us, because out there, she's known as the woman who takes no disrespect, an agile woman who cares for those in need and fight for those who have nothing, she's a mother to all, yet she seats aside, watching how everything goes, an ability she shares in common with Dad, as well as us.
“ So, my talk aside, how has it been going with you sis?..... Heard your abilities has progressed to a topnotch qualities lately....”.
“ Dad definitely told you that I guess?”.
She asked, the smile on her face now turning to a laughter, something she hardly does, laughing out loud, you can always see a smile on her face, but laughing like this, is only when she's with those whom she's comfortable around with.
“ No.... Not that, the Internet is on fire about the Williams girl, taking the game by force ”
She nodded her head, the laughter still on her features, knowing that yeah, the Internet can definitely do that, hyping you to stardom, yet can also bring you down with rumors, looks like we've all gotten ourselves inscribed into the Internet, Jack being a boxer, Dad being a former actor and on his way for a comeback, Mom being a well known journalist who presents the news, me being a renowned author and also now a professor, and then, Benita, also an author like me, but also an upcoming athlete who's making the headlines daily for her unique abilities.
