Chapter 11 PG-TEN

Back at the Chester's Mansion...
Isaiah paced from left to right in the basement of his house. The floor was covered with a wine carpet and a table rug was placed in the middle of the room. Expensive paintings hung on each wall showing off their vintage power with rare souvenirs decorating the shelves and antique vases organized at various sections in the room. It is a great definition of wealth and glamor,
‘I hope to God this works’ Isaiah prayed in his heart and looked down at his Rolex watch counting the seconds that passed when Ruby hadn't returned. Then suddenly, after minutes of waiting the door opened making him pause walking, and Ruby’s appeared.
“What did he say?” He eagerly asked his wife.
“I don't know how to say this but-"
"Did he reject your request?" He asked worriedly and held Ruby's upper arms but not tightly.
"No- he said he’s coming.” Ruby replied with a half-smile on her face.
Isaiah let out a sigh of relief and let go of her. He dramatically put his hand over his chest and forehead thus expressing his relaxation. Isaiah was now able to concentrate on other matters. He sat on the bed and rubbed his face with the palms of his hands still in utter shock that Orlando accepted the invite without causing chaos.
“So, you told him this ceremony was for him, right?” He asked her.
“Kind of and kind of not. Not in the most direct way possible, if I can put it that way.” She shrugged but assured him Orlando was genuine with his words when he said he would come.
Isaiah wanted to discuss the arrangement for the ceremony with Ruby but she wanted to do something else.
"Ruby, I think we should have Kaycee-"
"Shhh-" She hushed him and placed her finger on his lips. “Let’s not ruin the night with your questions or worries."
"I don't feel worried, I just want-"
"Enough Isaiah. Haven't you heard that work and no play makes Jack a dull boy?"
"Where are you going with this Ruby?" He asked and eyed her suspiciously.
"I'll tell you if you can promise me something."
"Like what?"
"Do you promise?" She continued to seduce him by massaging and curling his hair the way he liked it.
"Pro- I promise." He felt compelled to answer.
"Good. I want you to keep all this ceremony thing, the preparations, and Orlando taking over the company thing aside, he's coming isn't he? Let it rest tonight, you may worry about it tomorrow, agreed?”
"Agreed." He replied and she bent to kiss him but he stopped her.
“Ruby, I don't think this is the place or time to get all... like this-” Isaiah tried to tell his wife.
"Since when do you care who listens?"
"We are getting old for this-" He tried again and she laughed.
"Isaih, you and I know you are the beast, the noise doesn't bother you."
"But we got workers upstairs and this is the worker's restroom."
“No, no, no baby, we are doing this, anytime anywhere. Less talking, more action. So beast mind telling me how we should begin?” She whispered seductively in his ears and pushed him on the bed like they were still hungry teenagers.
The bed in the basement was meant for the female workers whenever they wanted to take a nap, and he wonders if they will ever look at the bed the same way they used to. Ruby wonders about the look on her workers’ faces when they learn about the things she and her husband did on their napping bed.
"Oh, Ruby you have no idea who you are inviting."
"I already do and I am ready to tame him."

Conclusion at the restaurant...
Orlando finished his moment of interview with the strange individual and despite his years of experience, he has never settled with a case like this. This person was skilled in communication, his words were well chosen and well crafted, and his posture showed no signs of stress or reluctance like he already rehearsed the meeting.
Orlando left the shop feeling unsettled and wished he could investigate this person on his own but it wasn't his call to pick his mission.
"So, how did it go?" Mike asked when Orlando stepped closer to their temporary car.
"Not the way I thought." He mumbled and went around the car. Mike followed him and leaned on the side of the car.
"What do you mean? Didn't you get the right guy?"
"He is but there is something off about him, I don't know what it is but it's definitely a dark one." Orlando responded and opened the driver's side to drop some items
"Wow! I've never seen you encounter a difficult client before."
"He's not my client Mike."
"Then why are you meeting him?"
"Do you always have to ask questions when we work on the same case?" Orlando stepped back to look at his annoying partner.
"You are the boss, I just help around." Mike shrugs.
"Then help me help you by keeping your mouth shut and get inside the car." Orlando says and prepares to enter the car.
"I just thought about this-" Mike began and walked to the other side of the car. "Why haven't we seen the hot chick that lives across us?"
"What chick?"
"You know, the chick we are watching, the house we are watching."
"Mike, you need to meet with your therapist by the end of this week." Orlando tells him bluntly.
"I already did that last week, I am in perfect shape and sound mind."
"Is that what your therapist told you? You know they lie most times."
"Touche-"
"Mike get in, we have other things to do."
"But wait- who was that woman I saw you staring at?" Mike's question had Orlando frozen.
"What woman? I wasn't staring at anyone." He defended.
"Come on, don't lie. I saw how you were looking at her. Do you know her?"
"I don't. Now get inside the car or I'll leave you."
"Easy there lover boy."
"If you want to be intact while we are inside this car, never call me that." Orlando threatened and Mike shut his mouth. He quietly entered the car and Orlando drove away. They were unaware of an unknown figure taking pictures of them from a distance.
