Accessory to murder

Jason already found a broken piece of evidence connecting Susanna to the unidentified people currently under investigation. After proper process and thorough verification Jason was confident to report his discovery to Rex so they can be extra cautious until their true identities are revealed. He was driving from work when he thought to visit Rex.
"Hello! Mr Angelo-" Jason greets over the phone.
"Good day to you Jason, I hope you have called me for a good purpose." Rex answered grumpy as usual.
"Yes, but we need to meet in person."
"Is it urgent?" Rex asked.
"Very vital, sir. It is about Susanna."
"Alright! But right now I can't leave the mansion because I have to stay close to Cherry. I will send you the address of the mansion, and make sure not to create an aggregation on your way." Rex warned sternly.
"Yes sir." Jason answers in the best way possible.
"When you get to the gates you will need to verify your identity and some others, then the security will let you in."
"Okay sir, thank you."
Jason cuts the call and takes the first U-turn at the end of the road, heading straight for the mansion.

Jason at the mansion...
It took about two and half hours before Jason was able to reach the mansion, and when at the destination, words weren't enough to describe his amazement when he set eyes on the mansion. The outside structure of the walls is beautiful and highly fortified with guards moving on top, Jason got so lost staring at it that he forgot someone was speaking to him.
"Can I get your name and reason for visiting?" The voice asked all over again expecting Jason to respond.
Jason gets thrown off his amazed state by the person raising his voice at him.
"Excuse me?" Jason asked and shook his head to stay focused.
"I asked for your name and reason for visiting." The voice repeats.
"Jason Brant. FBI. I have a meeting with your boss, Rex Angelo." Jason replies and there was a small pause before the voice comes back.
"Stand by for verification." The voice announced.
Jason breathes in and out remembering what Rex told him. He waited patiently for clearance and the gates began to open slowly.
"Welcome Jason Brant to Ne's change mansion, have a nice visit." An automated voice greets him making him smile.
Jason drove inside and was in awe of the size and extraordinary beauty of the place from the inside. It was so large he didn't know what path to take but he met someone waiting at the end of an intersection and slowed down to ask the person.
"Jason Brant?" The man referred to him.
"That's me!." Jason replied.
"Please follow me." The man got inside a small car and guided him to the massive mansion. Once they were parked at the front, another person dressed similarly to the first man guided Jason inside while the first man left in the small car.
Jason still couldn't get over the beauty of the place and occasionally lingered too long.
"Mr Angelo will be joining you soon, do wait for him here." The man tells him.
"It's alright, thank you." Jason tells the man and he nods before leaving.
Jason took the opportunity to admire the designs and decorations in the room he was left in. He also couldn't resist touching the paintings and sculptures.
"I see you have made yourself comfortable detective." Rex announced from the entrance and Jason quickly looked back.
"I must say it is very irresistible." Jason comments.
"Beautiful and original." Rex compliments his mansion decorations with pride.
"It is! From the billionaire you are to everyone outside this wall it's so different from within. You live like a king in here." Jason compliments.
"Appreciation accepted but I believe you are here for a different reason if I am correct."
"Of course sir."
"Shall we?" Rex gestures to the coffee table having two chairs set opposite one another. Rex sat on the decorated one and Jason sat on the plain chair. It is evident Rex still prides himself with his wealth and considers himself royalty to anyone. "So..."
"I brought in some documents, photos, and reports for you to look at." Jason spreads out different documents, photos, reports, and a shopping receipt. "I want you to go through them yourself before I explain my reasons. I know you are familiar with being a detective and your intellect will uncover most of the case before I began."
"Thanks, Jason. I've known I was gifted with the brain of an investigator too bad I never wanted to be one." Rex filled his pride but took his time to study the evidence laid in front of him. "This contains locations and orders made by Susanna and the reports state the connection of two mask robberies to Susanna, tracing her steps back to fidelity neighbourhood. I don't get it, she has now reincarnated herself into a living zombie?"
"That's how she has been outsmarting us. A few times she makes herself appear visible to the world and then she suddenly disappears and when that happens this particular criminal in disguise come into the picture causing problems to the society."
"That's how she gets her accomplices..." Rex drawled.
"Sir?" Jason asked in confusion.
"That's why she was able to spy freely in my mansion without her even being present. She sent someone to spy on my mansion and I know she already got what she wanted, we are just getting prepared in case she tries to launch an attack on us."
"How did that happen? I thought this mansion has the best security?"
"That's not important now Jason, we have to capture Susanna before she does something stupid."'
"I already have my team work on the case and if you can tell me the name of this spy we can get her for you so she can tell us what she knows about Susanna."
"Her name is Marvi Octavius."
"Marvi Octavius."Jason writes down the name in his jotter and keeps it. "I will see what I can dig out and send you the details."
"Thanks Jason."
"Anytime sir."
Rex shook his hand and asked Garth to escort him outside.

So-Ho police department (Derek's scene)
Derek resumes office like any other day but something about this very day doesn't feel pleasant in any way. It's not as if it has been pleasant in the past after Susanna's involvement in murder. Unable to understand the matters at work and the weird stares he got, Derek walks forward to his office to keep the strange stares of fellow colleagues and visitors off him.
"What the hell is wrong with everyone?" He asked himself as he settled on his table and began checking road records submitted to him in the past few days.
There was a knock on the door not quite long after he entered his office and Derek allowed the person in.
"Sir, you have been summoned by the captain." A sergeant informs him.
"Hope all is well?" Derek asks unbothered by the summoning.
"I don't know sir but he wants you in his office right away."
Derek sighs and takes off his reading glasses. He looked around his office and then at the sergeant.
"Does this have anything to do with what's going on or the roadblocks?"
"I don't know sir, I was only told to call for you."
"Alright, I will be there, just give me a minute." Derek tells him.
"Yes sir." The sergeant leaves and Derek took some seconds to himself to think of the reason for the captain calling him and without wasting another time he got up and leaves his office. Even as he left people didn't stop staring at him and Derek questioned the stares and they looked away.
Derek reaches the captain's office and salutes in front of him.
"Have your seat." The captain offered and was accompanied by two unknown people, Derek showed no signs of nervousness or discomfort and sat down as instructed.
"May I ask what the reason for this summoning is about Captain Mullen?" Derek ask.
"It is about your daughter..." Captain Mullen answers.
"I have been questioned about this before and I declared my statement that I have no involvement in whatever crime my daughter is accused of." Derek defends.
"So you are saying Susanna is innocent?" Mullen asks.
"Until it is proven then I can't say for sure who is guilty." Derek answers with a blank expression.
"I know every parent must protect their child from harm at all cost, but Derek, I am a father too and I will do anything for my girls..." Mullen leans forward in front of Derek.
"But we have all sworn an oath to serve our country and state and leave no stone unturned when it comes to the law." Derek tells him and Mullen nods to agree.
"You are right Chief! I love my girls but I also love my country and So-Ho is my city and my life. I will give anything for her safety."
"I swore the same oath and I will keep my promise close to my heart." Derek said while still having a straight face.
"Then you should not have any issue with the questions I have for you."
"Like what sir?"
"Have you had any contact with your daughter in any way whatsoever, that is after you learned about what she is accused of?" Captain Mullen ask and there was a pause before Derek answered.
"No, I haven't seen her and she hasn't come home either."
"Chief Tyler, we both know to always abide by the laws of our country and you know what will happen to anyone harboring a criminal or withholding vital information concerning the capture of a criminal?."
"I know that very well Captain Mullen."
"Then please be honest with me chief, I know how long you have worked and dedicated most of your life serving this city, even after Susan passed on you continued serving the city with your life so don't let all your hard work go to waste by breaking the most critical law."
"I never forget my sworn duty Captain and I know where my loyalty lies. Family matters have nothing to do with it." Derek answers.
"Alright, since you claim not to have any idea where your daughter might be then I believe you, but I want to let you know if she is ever caught and we find out you know about this the whole time you will be severely dealt with."
"I understand that sir."
"I have no more questions for you chief, you may leave now." Captain Mullen tells him.
Derek slowly stood up from the chair and made his way outside, keeping a straight unmoving face while back in Sergeant Victory's office Captain Mullen felt Derek was hiding something or better still he could lead them to Susanna directly or indirectly.
"Sergeant Victory!." Captain Mullen called.
"Sir?"
"I want you to keep a close eye on chief Tyler."
"Why sir? Haven't you already investigated him?" Sergeant Victory looked confused.
"It's not enough."
"So, you think he's not telling the truth?"
"That's what you have to find out. I am sure he will lead us to Susanna somehow."
