The day of the hearing...
"December twentieth, we hold the case of kidnapping, attempted murder, blackmail, compromise, possession of illegal arms, and tampering with private property, charged in the name of Miss Susanna Tyler. Please may the accused stand on the witness stand."
A clerk reads her file as proposed by the court then sits back on her chair.
"The hearing had been done and all the witness testimonies have been recorded... Miss Tyler..." The judge began.
"Yes?" Susanna responds with a stiff attitude.
"Do you agree with all that have been said in this court against you?" The judge asks.
"I do know I am innocent and one day I will prove it!" She spoke defiantly.
"Well, Miss Tyler, all the evidences points to you as the main suspect for all the crimes, and there are several witnesses to back up the evidences. Are you saying all these is a hoax to frame you?" The judge asked but Susanna refuses to answer. "For the last time Miss Tyler, do you plead innocent to all the accusation?"
Susanna remained quiet but her evil eyes didn't stop glaring at Cherry sitting in the crowd. Based on her previous and present attitude towards everyone in the court, the judge has made a conclusion and presented Susanna's sentencing.
"In front of the court, and based on several evidences presented before the court... Susanna Tyler, you are hereby found guilty of the following crimes. Murder, kidnapping, attempted kidnapping, conspiracy, damage of private and government property, resisting arrest, assault of a law enforcement officer, illegal possession of dangerous arms, bribery, tampering with evidence, larceny, aggravated assault and highjack... girl, your charges are way longer than the life left in you. But... you are hereby sentenced to seventy-five years in jail without an appeal, and in addition... nine months of probation and two years of hard labor. This court is dismissed."
"Arise!"
Everybody present stood up and waited until the judge exits the courtroom. Susanna was then cuffed and escorted ou of the court but she resisted to yell at Cherry.
"Let go!" She growled at one of the officer. "Hey! This isn't over you hear!" She yells to Cherry when she was about leaving with Rex and her babies.
"Yes! It is! Susanna, and I hope prison corrects your sick brain!" Rex defends Cherry. He sensed her features going stiff and shaky from Susanna's words.
"You can't protect her forever Rex!" Susanna continued.
"Shut up! Officers, please take this sick fellow away." Rex requested and they politely warn Susanna to move or she will be forced out.
"I will return! I will be back!-" She promised once more before shoved out of the court room.
Rex sighs but noticed Cherry was a little sloppy which is dangerous while carrying a baby.
"Cherry... are you alright?" He takes the baby from her hand.
"Rex-" Maria calls in front.
"We will be with you in a sec." He tells her and she walks away with the other baby. "Cherry, don't take her words to heart. Susanna is only speaking from hate." He comforts her as they walk out of the courtroom to their car parked some feet from them.
"I don't know if that is bothering me but I think she meant it." Cherry voiced her concerns.
"I promised you before... and I will keep on saying it until you believe it. I WILL NEVER LET ANY HARM COME TO YOU AGAIN." He swore vehemently.
"Rex, I do want to believe you, I really do! But you can't always be with me at every place-"
"Then I will die before any harm comes to you."
"What about our daughters? What will happen to them if we are both dead?" Cherry reaches out and caress her daughter hair. Rex also look down at the baby in his arms and reasons with Cherry.
"Then we shouldn't think about either of us dying." He tells her strongly and engulfs her in a comforting hug.
"I hope so Rex..."
"Come on, we better get to the car on time before we get swarmed by massive reporters." He remarks and Cherry laughs.
At the car, Maria was seated and waiting with the massive escort Rex arranged for their outing. When she hears a knock on the window she unlocks the door so Cherry can get inside with the baby. Once Cherry was inside, Rex closed the door and gets to the driver's seat.
"What's wrong Rex?" Maria ask when didn't start the car.
"Nothing Mia, I am just excited we can all start our lives all over again, and not worry about someone trying to ruin it..." Rex confessed.
"You have no idea how happy I am brother..." Maria says and smiles at Cherry. "FINALLY! FREE!"
"Hush Mia, the babies are sleeping." Cherry hushes her playfully.
"Oh!- stupid me! Sorry, sorry babies. Your aunt is just crazily happy. So brother, what do we do now?"
Rex sits back for a second, as if thinking about what to do, then a smile comes on his lips.
"We do the things we couldn't." He responds with a happy smirk then starts the car almost immediately.
