Chapter 8

An hour later...
At Nar's apartment...
Nar's POV...
After about an hour and a half of working out at the gym, I returned to my apartment to get a quick shower, before now getting some rest on my single bed. While resting, I grab my phone from the side of my table. Knowing that it's Saturday, means I got a lot of free time to write on my blog.
"Narowspace is back," I say to myself. On the internet, I prefer to go with my pen name, Narowspace.
As I log in to my blog on my phone, what made me more excited is the fact that I got a tons of stories to share from today. Man, I really didn't expect Linh to approach me all of a sudden and she even asked for my number. Hopefully she didn't know that I was flattered, but I wanted to believe that she actually likes me enough to make the first move. As much as people like to compliment my calm nature, on the internet, I have a sarcastic side in which some people on the internet find it to be annoying. Yet honestly, deep down I am just struggling with my lack of confidence. Haha, but enough about that. Today's story is gonna be a hot topic for today's blog post.
I start typing about today's event, from when I walked inside the gym to when Linh approached me all of a sudden. I add my signature "spicy" touch to my writing which would make the story more interesting. In the middle of the fun I'm having, I suddenly receive a notification from my phone, which shows a new message on the top corner, with the name "Linh" being displayed. Her name appeared just when I thought about that girl.
Meanwhile...
At Linh's apartment...
"I'm back," Linh says as she heads inside the living room to see Hoang and Minh are busy with their phones playing a mobile game.
"Did you text him yet?" Minh asks, with a tone that almost sounds careless and bothering to shift her gaze from her phone.
"I just did," Linh answers as she puts down her gym bag on the floor.
"So you got a date with him tonight?" Minh asks, again with the same tone that almost sounds careless.
"Actually, I'm going out with Xiaoyang. We actually finished gym together and he asked me to meet up for dinner," Linh says.
"Wow, that's fast," Hoang adds.
"I guess. And to add it, OMG, Minh. You do remember that the reason I even approach him in the first place is to get you guys closer, right?" Linh asks as she puts her hands on her hips while staring at Minh, who's vision is glued to the mobile game on her phone.
"Yeah, did you forgot about that?" Hoang asks. His eyes are also focused on the mobile game.
"I remember," Minh says. "But you know, I'm actually starting to feel like this isn't gonna work out."
"What do you mean, Minh?" Linh asks, with curiousity starts running in her head.
"I think he just might have a thing for you," Minh says in rather irritated tone.
Hearing that, Linh slightly widens her eyes. She almost drop her jaws after hearing what her younger sister just said. She didn't thought Minh would actually have that thought after she had told her before that she only wanted to help them get closer. She even gave her his number in advance, and told her to send him a message.
"Woah, girl. I think that's kind of too far. I don't think he even thought of me that way," Linh says. "Besides, I gave you his number. You should drop him a message."
Before Minh could answer her sister's statement, Linh's phone rings a notification of a new message. Linh quickly grabs her phone from her small sling bag that's still attached to her body, only to see that she has a new message from Nar.
"You better reply him first," Minh states, hence making Linh feel a bit awkward that her sister seems a bit annoyed with the situation.
Knowing that her sister just expressed how she thought that Nar might have found her kind of attractive, she honestly feels uncomfortable that her sister would actually have that thought. In any way, trying to win Nar's attention was the last thing she would want to do, knowing that he is her sister's gym crush. She honestly finds it to be impolite as a sister if she would ever ended up develouping feelings for Nar, even if he would eventually find her attractive. Besides, she didn't want to think of it as possible, since she didn't want to believe that Nar would actually find her attractive. Out of all the attractive girls at the gym, she consider herself to be ordinary. Even compare to Minh, Linh always sees her younger sister to be more attractive than herself.
"I'll probably just talk to him for a while before getting ready for tonight," Linh says. "Meanwhile, I think you should consider about dropping him a message."
"I don't know," Minh states.
"You have to at least try, Minh," Linh says in a serious tone. She honestly didn't want her sister to think of her and Nar the wrong way when her intentions are clear enough that she hoped the two can get closer. Besides, she doesn't think her sister should even worry about her and Nar getting close, when she knew before that her gym crush is Xiaoyang.
"I'm starting to lose interest in that," Minh says.
"Come on, Minh. You have to at least try," Linh says.
Minh became silent for a moment while starting to consider her sister's words. She realized she was being sulk just now with her denials of actually wanting to know more about Nar. She could describe herself as someone with a temper, or as someone who oftens gets irritated at a few things which could lead her to lose interest. Yet, deep down she still has interest towards Nar, who she still sees as her gym crush.
"I'll try to consider it," Minh says. "Maybe."
Linh smiles. "That's the spirit."
A few hours later...
6:15 PM...
At Saigon Lane Mall...
Linh's POV...
I walk through the mall with my eyes focus on my phone as I continue to reply to Nar's text. We've been texting for a while in the afternoon, and I told him that I'll be having dinner soon outside with a friend, in which he said he'll also be having dinner with some of his co-workers. Despite having a peaceful yet cold vibe most of the times, Nar is actually a chill guy with a fun sense of humour. His easygoing nature actually surprised me, since the conversations we had already makes me feel as if we've known each other for ages.
"I'll go out to have dinner now. You also don't be late for dinner :)." - Linh.
"Haha, Ok, Linh. Enjoy your dinner." - Nar.
I smile at my phone one last time before putting it inside my bag. I stop with my steps as I realize I already arrive at "Seasonal Spice", the Chinese restaurant where Xiaoyang had asked me to meet him. The restaurant looks quite crowded inside.
"Good evening, Miss," one of the staff approach me with a warm smile. "Do you have a reservation before?"
"Yes. I'm looking for Mr Xiaoyang," I say.
"Oh, right this way, Miss," the staff says, in which I start to follow her as I enter the crowded restaurant.
As I walk through the crowded restaurant, I start to feel a bit nervous inside at the thought going to meet Xiaoyang tonight. It's been a while since I last went out with a guy, and let's say that my last relationship didn't turned out well.
"Here you are, Miss," the staff says as she stops in front of a table, where Xiaoyang is already waiting. His vision shifts from his phone to me, in which he forms a smile at me.
"Ok, thank you," I say to the staff while smiling back at Xiaoyang as I pull the chair to sit across him.
"Hello," I say in a rather shy tone as my eyes meet his.
"Hi, good to see you here," Xiaoyang says as he grabs one of the menu and hands it to me. I gently grab the menu from his hand.
"Nice to see you too," I say before opening the menu to search for what to order.
My eyes got fascinated by the choices of various Chinese cuisines. With all the many choices looking so temptating, it's gonna be quite a challenge. Not to mention, I am quite a fan of Chinese cuisines, yet I still have a hard time choosing just one favorite, or two, or three.
"So what would you like to order?" Xiaoyang asks, while still having his vision still on the menu.
"I'm still choosing," I say, with my lips forming a small smile. I don't know why yet my lips just suddenly forms a smile when I hear his voice, almost like his voice is enchanting.
After a few minutes, both Xiaoyang and I eventually decided on what we would like to order. We actually chose some various dishes such as stir-fried beef, fish soup, dimsums, fried prawns, and not forgetting some stir-fried vegetables as well. While waiting for our orders to come out, Xiaoyang and I talk about various topics, such as work life, food, and of course, working out. He told me he is working at a Chinese phone company, and had been staying in Ho Chi Minh for a year. Other than that, he told me he had been working out for 13 years, which almost surprised me since I also found out that he's 34 years old. Well, he surely look younger than his age, and no wonder he has such a perfect figure. He surely had been working out a lot.
"Oh, so you're 23 years old?" he asks me. Though his lips forms a small smile which almost look as if he's chill with the situation, I see his eyes are filled with a surprised look.
To be continue...
