Linh's POV... I stood frozen in confusion as the tension between Nar, Daniel, and I became more awkward, without Daniel even knowing about it. Well, I don't think I have anything to do tonight, and the fact that I thought maybe going out could get rid of both my creative block, and maybe help me reduce my anxiety at home. Don't get me wrong, I'm more of a home-person but sometimes staying home a bit too-long while fearing about my mom's mood-swings could really get me anxious. "Umm...no, I guess," I say. Daniel smiles, "Then how about you join me for dinner at the Mall?" I stood nervously. Again, my eyes shift over to Nar, who's gaze still looks like a quiet tiger yet hiding a deadly temper inside. I have a feeling that if I probably accept Daniel's invitation, well chances are he's probably gonna get mad. Don't know, it's just a feeling. But hey, we're not even dating and I'm bored listening to my mom's constant nagging at home. So well, a dinner with a so-called new friend won't right? Yeah, hopefully he won't bite. "Umm...ok," I answer. "Cool. So let's meet up at the lobby, I would say," Daniel says. Again, his lips forms a cheeky smile. I smile awkwardly at the scene, meanwhile my eyes continue to shift to Nar in every like 3 seconds. I noticed that his face changed when he heard that I actually agreed to have dinner with this man I just met. Meanwhile... "Bro, did you saw that?" Minh asks Hoang who is in the middle of doing his second set of lat pull down. "What?" Hoang asks, his voice sounds like he is struggling to hold on to the heavy weight, almost struggling with his breath. "Nar looks totally annoyed as hell. Like, I swear he face screams "I'm ready to kill someone" seriously," Minh states, her eyes still continues to stare at the annoyed looking Nar, the awkward Linh, and the so-called, so-cheesy Daniel. "Really?" Hoang asks as he shifts his head to see the trio. "Yeah, it's so obvious," Minh adds. "Man, that's crazy," Hoang adds. The two teenagers continue to stare at Nar, who is in the middle of placing a 20kg plate right on the top part of the smith machine, which to them, was quite a silly movement since he could have just put it back on the bottom part. With an annoyed look, Nar grabs his gym bag and walks away, not before throwing a deadly smirk at Linh, which of course, made her feel both confuse and uncomfortable at the same time. Well, he surely looked mad. Linh thought. A few hours later... 6:55 PM... At Saigon Lane Mall... Linh's POV... I walk pass some stores at the Mall as I head over to the lobby. Remembering that I have a dinner date with Daniel tonight, I wouldn't say that I'm excited or anything, just the fact that I'm hoping to get better inspirations for my contents. Who knows? Maybe after talking to him my brain would actually get a new idea? Not gonna lie, but despite being an introvert at times, I can be a very social person when I want to. "Hi," I say as I walk over to him who is busy with his phone as he stood in the middle of the lobby. "Hey, you're here. Let's go," Daniel says, signaling that we should go to the restaurant. Well, earlier he told me on the phone that he was in the mood for some Japanese food, which I didn't mind at all. At Tokyo Gazebo Japanese Restaurant... Just at the corner of the Mall, we enter a hidden Japanese restaurant. Though it's location might not be the most noticeable, a lot of the neighbours here consider this as one of the hidden gems restaurant at Saigon Lane Mall, in which they are most famous for their oyakodon. "Welcome. So what would you like to order?" the waiter asks us. "I'll have the curry udon and a bottle of beer," Daniel says. "One curry udon and one bottle of beer. And what about you, Miss?" the waiter asks me. "I'll have the oyakodon and a cup of hot ocha," I say. "One oyakodon and one cup of hot ocha," the waiter says. "Anything else?" "Uhh no, I'm good," Daniel states. "What about you?" "No, I'm good," I say. "Ok, thank you & please wait for your order to arrive as we proceed," the waiter says. "Ok, thanks," Daniel says. As we watch the waiter walks away with the menu and the note of our orders in hand, Daniel starts to move to sit next to me. Well, we are sitting on a round shaped couch, I honestly felt a bit weird when he suddenly decided to sit closer to me. "You look nice," Daniel says as his eyes begin to study my face, which deep down, only make me feel more uncomfortable. "Oh, thanks," I answer awkwardly. It's the first time I heard that coming from a guy in the most aggressive manner, which honestly creeps me out. For a second, I'm starting to regret my decision to go out with this man. Damn it. Minutes passed yet it felt like hours as we wait for the waiter to return with our orders. Yet, I think the main reason why I'm literally bored as hell is because this guy turned out to be pretty damn boring, and not to mention, he is so full of himself. My eyes start to wonder around the restaurant, literally trying to ignore Daniel’s rambling about his “impressive” job in finance, and not mention he also describe himself as an "expert" in relationship. And just when my eyes are wondering, my eyes widen at the sight of what I didn't expect to see. Nar, and he is with....a girl? He walks in through the enterance, while holding hands with a girl with golden brown hair. Tonight, there's something different about his look that caught my attention. Instead of wearing his usual t-shirt, he is wearing a long sleeve shirt. He takes a seat and his eyes starts scanning the restaurant, just like how he usually scans the gym. Out of accident, our eyes meet. In a blink of an eye, it felt like time stopped. I even start to lose my attention to Daniel's voice. All I can hear now is the quiet roar in my ears and the rush of blood to my cheeks. Honestly, the sight of them somehow really irritates me, which at the same time I also found to be quite odd. I knew well before that he has a girlfriend and that we're just friends to begin with. Why do I have to feel bother just because he's having dinner with his girlfriend? Not wanting to caught anymore attention, I quickly look down, pretending to adjust my purse beside me. I don't want him to see me. I don’t want to look like I care, when in reality, I really do. But also, I had enough of this sight for tonight. "Linh? You okay?" Daniel's voice finally breaks through the fog in my head. I snap my gaze back to him, startled. "Umm, yeah," I say quickly, forcing a weak smile. "Oh, you seem kinda distracted," he states, immediately leaning in, interested in a way that feels more like nosiness. "Nah, I'm fine," I say, again with my heart deep down screaming about how much I really wish this date would end faster. To be continue...
