Chapter 106: Rauv

"You are here again"
The soft sounds of tingling leaves caused by the night's cold breeze carefully touch each branch.
"You're high-
"Darrion! didn't we agree to call each other name if we are alone."
Darrion dotingly replied, taking his slow steps to approach Maylene who is standing still in the middle of the ruined temple.
The wind got stronger swaying Maylene's half-tied hair to fly over her face which Darrion carefully help to tuck behind her ears.
Maylene felt as if time went slow as she watches the pair of golden eyes gaze gently meeting her pair of hazel eyes.
Both reflected the light from the full moon hanging in the dark purple sky.
"Ha," Darrion left a heavy sigh from his soft red lips averting his gaze away from Maylene.
"If you look at me like that, how could I control myself."
His utterance immediately turned both their cheeks red, but Maylene burst a giggle from her lips.
"Should I be grateful for that?"
Darrion changed his gaze, pulling Maylene's waist to shorten the distance between them.
"You should be."
His hot breath almost touches the lady's face their eyes exchange gazes at each other affectionately.
Gradually Maylene placed one of her palms on his cheeks which he gladly took and kissed.
"Seriously" A loud soft voice suddenly overheard at the site bewildering the couple.
Sounds of flapping wings tweets echoed the night sky startling the two that quickly Darrion covered Maylene in his embrace.
"What's that?" Darrion asked crumpling his brows while roaming his head around to see if there is any attack.
"Did you hear it too?" Maylene said following Darrion's gaze.
"Come on, why are you doing this in my place."
The voice heard again, and the ground began to shake, and the columns started to grow higher.
Darrion tightly holds Maylene in his arms while drawing his sword releasing his aura within the blade where a flashing gold light appears.
Slowly, both of them take steps turning their bodies around while the ruined temple majestically transforms back to its original glass form.
"H-how?" Astounded, both Darrion and Maylene exchange glances gradually letting go of each other's embrace.
"Finally,"
Startled, the couple almost jump from where they stood as a silver light in a human figure appeared in the middle of them.
"Maylene!"
Quick on his feet, Darrion attempted to reach Maylene's hand but failed when the light magically turned into a human and caught Maylene's hands instead.
His long silver-white hair gently fell behind his beautifully sculptured pale face that is almost inches away from the lady's astonished face.
Maylene met the pair of glimmering ruby eyes blinking in front of her that gradually lowered its gaze on her hands, kissing the back of it.
Swish- Darrion drew out his sword pointing his blade from behind the neck of the mysterious man.
"Let her go!" A firm sharp tone pierced the tense atmosphere between the two men.
"You're quite nasty and that didn't change after so long."
The man uttered in a soft and calm voice gently helping Maylene to stand properly on her own.
He then touched the tip of the blade, but Darrion quickly released his aura nullifying the mysterious man's mana.
The man's eyes slowly move to back to look over his shoulders, "Not bad."
He smiled and a stronger mana was released holding Darrion's feet refraining him from moving.
"Darrion!" Maylene screamed, rushing towards him but the mysterious man halts her movement.
"Why are the two of you afraid of me, I am just a remaining fragment of myself." The man said, running his fingers on his chin.
Darrion gritted his teeth forcing his body to move but there is no reaction. He even try to release his aura but nothing changed.
Worried for his lover, Maylene's eyes moved from Darrion back to the mysterious man.
"Who are you?"
Tilting his head, the pair of ruby eyes stare down at Maylene sending chills all over her small frame.
"Does reincarnating into different bodies affect your memories that much?"
Squinting her eyes Maylene twitched her brows observing the man's appearance once again.
Ruby eyes, Long Silver hair a tall body build wearing a Mage Uniform, and her eyes fell into the crest shining on his left shoulder.
"Are you, Rauv?"
The laughed faintly, flicking his fingertips that finally released Darrion from his magic.
Thud!
Maylene runs towards Darrion helping him from falling to the ground due to the sudden release of mana holding his body.
"Took you so long," Rauv mumbled shrugging his shoulders.
"Where is Yui? Where did you bring her?" Maylene asked one after another in one breath.
"That's what I wanted to ask you." Tilting his head, Rauv taps his fingers in the air.
"As I said I am only a fragment of myself which I left here inside the temple before I completely disappear and after hundreds of years a child born with my mana appeared activating this place."
A swirl of wind gathered in front of him showing blurry yet recognizable events along the air.
"I do not know exactly what happened, but I need to find that child to find out if my theory is correct, it seems that the child's power was trapped here."
The couple watched the familiar scenes unfold before their eyes as they slowly spread from the swirl of wind down the glass floor towards the frozen walls and up to the ceiling.
"Does it mean, Yui's body is somewhere else, but her powers are in here?" Darrion said watching the events being played randomly.
"But aren't these her memories?" Maylene speaks carefully recalling the details she is seeing within the walls of the temple.
"Perhaps you could track her whereabouts?" Maylene asked but Rauv shook his head.
"Unfortunately, not my lady. As I said her powers and memories are trapped here so am I so I cannot have any means to track her."
The two fell into silence expressing their great distress as they do not know what to do at that moment.
"But I do not think there is much time for this place, you need to bring her body back, or else she will lose everything trapped in here."
And the temple disappeared once again going back to its ruined form. It seems that Yui's powers and memories were the only ones that keep the temple intact but in due time it may also disappear.
Thus, the two did not waste any more time as they doubled the force to look for Yui's body.
