Six months passed after Yui went missing and finally, Gael found her, however, her behavior seems strange.
On top of that, she is defending a magical beast and even saying that it was her friend.
"Magical beasts aren't a friend." Gael looks at her with confused tightened brows.
"But he is and we need to find someone because he said that the seal will collapse anytime now."
Yui replied staring up at the red flame bird which puzzled Gael's mind taking glances between the beast and Yui.
"Is the beast talking to you?"
"It is telling you to put me down," Yui replied with pair of innocent eyes and so Gael obliged gently helping her to stand up.
After settling for a moment, Gael hold Yui's shoulders and fiercely stared into her eyes. "Yui?"
Intensely looking at her, Yui felt heavy pressure from his stares yet she managed to answer him.
"Yes?"
"Do you not know me?"
Again his expression softened and Yui felt an itch in her heart seeing his gentle face and she can't help but feel sorry.
She cannot fathom what happened to her yet and she cannot recognize the person in front of her.
Even though she managed to recognize her mother despite only hearing her voice and not seeing her body, Yui also recalled her name because of that.
But she has no recollection of anything more besides that and so she averted her gaze.
"I'm sorry but-
"She has no memories! she doesn't even have her powers."
The red flame bird majestically turned into a smaller flame bird and rested on Yui's shoulder.
"You mean I lost my powers together with my memories?" Looking above her shoulders, Yui asked flummoxing.
"Of course. One of the sorcerer’s sources of power is their memories aside from nature."
The phoenix explained, yet Gael cannot reckon any of the beast's words but comprehending Yui's loss of memories and powers he asked her.
"Did you say you have to look for someone?"
"Yeah, as he said." Yui pointed at the bird but the phoenix refused to look at Gael.
"And you said the seal will collapse if you were not able to find that person."
The phoenix got angry suddenly and began to scream, "He isn't "That", he is Rauv the great sorcerer."
Calming the phoenix down, Yui opened her mouth, "Great sorcerer?"
Gael squinted his brows and responded, "Did you mean the great sorcerer of history? the one who created the seal. Rauv."
"You know him! Where is he?"
Hopping her feet Yui exclaimed grabbing Gael's hands which made him extremely happy.
"But he is already dead," Gael replied stiffening Yui and losing her delighted face.
"We are looking for his fragment, the memory that keeps the seal intact! Stupid!"
The phoenix hit Yui's head with its beak which also irritated her.
"I'm not stupid! This bird!" she screamed fighting the phoenix when a speed swift arrow suddenly shoot between them.
"kyaaa!"
Gael quickly embraced Yui pulling her to hide behind the bush while the phoenix flew upward.
"What’s that?" Yui asked with an extremely pale face holding Gael tightly.
"Ssshhhh,"
Quietly hiding behind the bushes, footsteps and voices began to come near them.
"Are you sure you saw a bird here?"
"Yes, I saw a large red-colored bird holding a girl."
Two strange men wearing black cloaks with weapons in their hands began to exchange conversation.
"What if that's the sorceress they all have been looking for?"
"How can you be sure you didn't even see her face."
"But I saw her eyes! it's gold."
"Whatever, she has been missing for half a year now do you think she's still alive."
After a while, the voices faded so as did the footsteps and when Gael was about to release Yui, he got flustered to see her weeping.
"Am I the one they are looking for?"
Gael couldn't reply to see a helpless lady in his arms too different from the strong-willed Yui he once knew.
"Am I supposed to be dead? Are you also here to kill me?"
Agitated, Gael wrapped Yui in his arms once again whispering in her ears, "Let's find someplace safe it's getting darker."
Holding a hot drink in her hands, Yui carefully sips them as she finally calms herself down.
Gael covered her shoulders with a warm thick blanket sitting beside her in front of the fireplace.
After traveling all over the boundary seals, Gael found at least a place where he could have himself rest and it was in every small village he could come by.
"Human, we have no time for this." The phoenix began to hit Yui's cut with his beak.
Yui got irritated and answered him, "But I need this time!"
"Hays, if you wished to find answers to what is happening to you, we need to find Rauv." The phoenix said lying on his body on the soft bed.
"I do not know where he could be! and some people are after the two of us," Yui replied exasperated.
Understanding the conversation between them, Gael butted, "I'm sorry."
"Stop saying sorry, it's not even your fault."
Gael explained Yui's situation to her from the reason why she is found in her current situation.
She disappeared after removing Kaizer's soul from her father's body and Yui concluded the reason why she was able to see Kaizer's past.
In the end, Yui is eager to return her memories and her powers, however, she is still confused.
"Why? are you hesitating to find your powers because you discover the fact that it was the reason that the empire almost got destroyed?"
Indeed, after hearing Gael's story of her, she cannot help but feel devastated.
Her current situation is all her fault, rather than the fault of her being born with outstanding powers.
If returning her memories will also return her powers, she is hesitating to do so because it may only cause another Kaizer to appear.
In addition, people are after her life because she was a wandering fugitive regardless of how hard the imperial family cleared her name.
