Judging Yui's horrible expression, he was able to figure out what Yui has been thinking.
The first time he saw her, showed how much weight she has been carrying all her life without even asking for any help.
Gael took her hand and squeeze them meeting the pair of glistening golden eyes, anxiously staring at him.
"It was not your fault. Nor anyone, as you always told us."
Pieces of memories began to occur inside her head where unfamiliar yet familiar faces flashed before her eyes.
"You are you, whatever you choose. We will accept that." Gael added gently resting her head on his broad shoulders, kissing the top of it.
Yui got flustered removing her head away from Gael's shoulders, "W-what is that?"
"A good night kiss?"
Cheeks turned red instantly, Yui quickly placed the mug down on the table wrapping herself with a blanket.
"A-are we lovers or something?" Puzzled by such gentleness and skinship, Yui asked Gael placing some distance between them.
However, Gael did not reply rather he gave her a cheeky smile which irritated her and she just went to bed.
The sky went dark and so the silence of the night filled the whole village.
"Why didn't you attack those thugs earlier?" Gael stay awake guarding Yui as she fell asleep.
"What's the point of asking me if you cannot understand me human." the phoenix uttered but all Gael could hear is its faint growling.
Grooaaaa
Downhearted, Gael looked outside the windows and mumbled, "I want to understand."
"I want to understand her world." Gently his deep purple eyes shimmers from the moonlight passing the window glass as he turned his eyes back to Yui's sleeping face.
Suddenly a light-yellow glow appeared in Gael's left chest, to where his boundary seal with Yui has been inflicted.
The seal glows stronger and he felt a warm sensation running through his body.
"Only for a short while human." The Phoenix mumbled standing above Yui's body and staring straight at Gael.
"I am the phoenix, one of the highest magical creatures and we need to find Rauv before the seal collapse."
Gael blinked his eyes twice to check if he is hearing him right and he did hear him loud and clear.
Shaking his thoughts away, he asked the phoenix, "How did his fragment leave the seal?"
"It is after she called the beasts to help her fight the ugly experimented creatures that you, humans did."
The phoenix explained flying towards the window sill and staring above the sky.
"After we all left, it seems that Rauv’s fragments were absorbed by this child and with her memories, those fragments were left somewhere."
The same explanation is what Maylene explained with the empress dowager as she and Darrion quickly visited her after meeting Rauv at the ruins.
"Send a letter to Gael-
"Your majesty!"
Karin wasn't able to finish her words when Julian arrived in her office from the windows riding his swirling wind.
"Julian! How could you!"
Infuriated by his childish actions, Maylene slaps the back of the young boy, yet he is smiling.
"My Lady this isn't the time to scold me."
Julian said showing a piece of paper to them with a bright smile painted on his face.
"Did you sneak the letter from the messenger bird again?"
Maylene replied but Julian brushed away his shoulder approaching Karin.
He politely bows his head giving the piece of paper to her and Karin took it with a sinister grin as if telling him about what he just did.
Julian quickly moved to hide behind Darrion while Karin gladly read the paper.
"He found her."
Karin uttered and slowly Maylene and Darrion's eyes met, both were astonished to hear such good news.
"Then let's go!" Julian exclaimed as if he has been waiting to go and meet Yui, however, Karin's face is somehow dejected.
"Indeed we need to hurry. Gael said that the seal is going to collapse while Rauv's fragment is a trap here."
"It seems that the appearance of the magical beasts, in the end, was due to Rauv's help however it seems that Yui wasn't able to get ahold of that overwhelming power and ended up losing it."
Darrion concluded after hearing Rauv's story earlier that night and now the pieces were complete with Yui's appearance.
"Is she all right?"
Out of the excitement, Maylene is much more worried about her best friend's state knowing that she has been missing for almost half a year.
Karin displayed a soft smile on her lips stating, "She is, however."
The pleasing atmosphere did not last long when Karin added that Gael told them about the thugs and assassins that were also looking out for Yui to appear.
"Why! Didn't we already clear her name!"
Full of anguish, Maylene burst her emotions out, clenching her fists and jaw.
Karin apprehended the young lady's grimace as she too feels the same but they cannot do anything about it.
"My Lady, people only believe what they have seen. Although with the help of the Giordon house, we can push the sins to Jaiq that wasn't enough."
Gently Karin took Maylene's hand to calm her down instead Maylene go flustered by the gentleness the empress dowager showed her.
"The appearance of the beasts had become the most questionable of all."
Darrion mumbled, "Then what if Yui showed them that she could control the beasts and that she is Rauv's descendant?"
"Wouldn't she appear much more dangerous?" Julian responded still standing behind Darrion.
"But what if she was able to recreate the boundary seal?"
Bewildered, Gael takes back the phoenix's suggestion as he and the phoenix are discussing the same thing with those in the palace.
"Are you suggesting sacrificing her life?" Perplexed, Gael stood from his seat clenching his fist.
"Human, she won't die. Rather she needs to live inside the seal with us."
Halting his emotions, Gael took a glance over Yui's sleeping face which then soften his hardened face.
He lowered his head and seated back holding his head exasperated.
It was the best choice they could have since Yui isn't safe living with them maybe it is best if she could stay inside of the seal.
But how could he accept that? After looking for her for six months, he has been patient in having her not until she accomplishes her goal.
Now he should let her go, once again and this time it could be forever.
