As would be, school was a daily routine, taking every bit of her time serious and ensuring that nothing important is neglected until a day came she could not go for her lessons. She was sick, feeling feverish, weak and light pains. Though she wasn't utterly shattered but it was not something she could take to the school. She won't concentrate and it would be a waste of time. "Why should I suffer fever? I fumigate my room often and I keep everything in place" Roselyn pondered as she returned from the restroom. That was the second time she was throwing up. She was scared, her thoughts were going wild and pessimistic simultaneously. "He didn't use protection that day. oh my God! could it be what I'm thinking? could it be that I'm preg... No, but this is how it starts at early stage. feverish and nauseous. No, mine is not. it's not fever, I believe it's not fever. I can't be pregnant. What do I tell my family?.. " She was restless. mixed and confused, she kept admitting, doubting and comforting herself. "I know she will be in the house she doesn't go anywhere" This was Susan's voice. Roselyn almost fainted when she heard her. she felt the end has caught up with her.. why now? Was she sent for a revenge? She was the last person she needed to hear her name at the moment let alone visiting her. She wish her door was already locked so she could pretend not to be around but as her thoughts were still in process the door was thrown open. "Rosy, kilode? what happened? I didn't see you in school. I went to your hall and you were not there" "You haven't seen me for a week now. Why are you so concerned today?" Roselyn replied with menace wholly engulfing her tone. "It doesn't matter if it was a year or a day. you're asking, have you cared to check on me either?" "Check on someone I irritate?" "This how you store it in your mind? I don't always get it Rosy, why do you always think I have something against you? because of the fight at the beach? should that cause an end to what has stood for a couple of years? we were friends before this, even before meeting in this school so how do you think it can be easily blown away like a puff of smoke?" "You sound very reassuring but i don't feel it as said. Anyway, you also have to know that i have nothing against you. Even though you opt me out in most of your schedules" "Rosy, you know all these. Despite the fact we are friends we are not same. you won't agree with most things we do so the best thing is to keep you out" "That's what I'm saying. Even though we are not same I still don't despise you. I see you guys as one" Here and now Susan was short of words, she just stared at Roselyn as she could not let their eyes contact. She's never started has an argument with Roselyn and won, even when she knows she's losing she still refuse to give in, Susan often compromise. "Okay. it's settled. The scale is balanced. You keep a lot from us too. Even your boyfriend's travel was hidden from us" "It wasn't hidden. you didn't care to ask, did you?" "Well, no. But, i must not ask for everything. Now you are sick, do I need to ask to be told how you feel? This one is very obvious anyone can figure it out. look at the color of your eyes, unusual. You are weak and... you know what I mean. what's happening to you? do you throw up?" This question hit Roselyn so hard that she felt awaken. That's exactly what she was scared of. Susan was going to confirm it was what she was scared of. Now she needed just a simple YES to tell her that she was pregnant. "No I don't" "You don't? how do you feel? feverish I guess" "Susan, it's fever" "Oh the same fever you said I have?" "What is that? have you come here to mock me?" "How does that sound like mockery? I'm only trying to know exactly what it is. I could be of help" "As my doctor, parents, clergy or what? see, Susan I don't have strength for that. You really come at the wrong time. I need to rest. my head is pounding" "If you take this serious remember you were in my position some time ago" "Obviously you came for a revenge because you couldn't get it off your mind. That's comprehensible, you have succeeded. mission accomplished. Now you can go" Susan knew it was clear dismissal. She could not try to make her understand anything more. Roselyn was already fuming and would not listen. As a matter of fact she saw no use in trying to explain further or apologize, because she sees no offense in what she said. Besides Roselyn said that to her too, so if it's indeed something to apologize for she will go first. She bade her farewell and made her way out. As she left Roselyn got a call from her mother asking her what's going on with her for recently she haven't been calling. Susan's visits and her mother's call increased her nervousness. Everything because suspicious around her. She stayed away from Amanda too because she alone knew she had sex with Richard and telling her about how she feels would be a mistake. she will have nothing else to say than strongly convince her it was pregnancy. She was restless as she conducted another mixed thoughts in her head and finally decided to face her fears, whatever it is she would face it. If at all it's pregnancy she will keep it, however she will stay out of school for a year and when the child is half a year she can leave it with Richard's mother. she will definitely be happy to have her son's duplicate at home as her son was away. She chose to be strong but she must go for a test to confirm it to be sure of what to expect and to also know how to make her plans for it rather than ignorantly and nervously inflicting herself with pain. On getting to the the lab she began to feel reluctant. Whether to continue with the check up or not. "I will be wasting money on this. I already know what it is. Didn't i have sex a week ago? Unprotected one for that matter. What am I expecting, a miracle?" As she was still contemplating a nurse came to call for her turn. She was caught up, it was late to leave. She had to follow the nurse, there she gave her complaints and samples. Then she was asked to go home and return for the result another day. Now, coming back for the result was the biggest trauma. It felt like judgement day when you know that your chances of making hell fire is greater than making heaven.
