Because of Kent's three-pointer shot, their school's score went up again, and in the end, their basketball team won the Basketball Competition. It was almost like a sure win...
She can't really explain why, but she just couldn't take her eyes of Kent Cervantes. They sometimes attend same classes and she doesn't really care about him. 
Michaela considers Kent as her rival, especially when it comes to their school's academic rankings.
Kent is a scholar, and an athlete and at the same time, he is on the top rank.
The two of them consistently tries to take over each other when it comes to academics. Kent is not just the usual golden boy with good looks and athletic skills but he got amazing brains as well.
Michaela is being challenged by him, and that's why she's studying extra hard. She doesn't want to be easily taken over by others, most especially by Kent. 
She can't let her guard down, and she needs to beat him! 
Going back to Kent Cervantes, she is also fully aware that almost all the female population at their school has a huge crush on him.
Well, it's hard for her to admit it directly, but Kent is a real looker. He's tall, dark, and handsome. In addition to that, he's really smart and extremely athletic, that's why lots of girls are attracted to him...
But she's very lucky because she is not affected by Kent's charm. That's why she can live a peaceful and stress-free life.
Her train of thoughts stops in a halt when she heard everyone shouting Kent's name. Michaela saw many people going towards Kent to congratulate him. And all of the girls are looking at him with so much admiration in their eyes...
Michaela wanted to cry because of too much annoyance.
Her classmates didn’t even congratulate her for winning the History Olympiad Quiz! She sacrificed her sleeping time for the passed few weeks because she really wanted to win.
Why does everyone like Kent? Why does he always takes the spotlight? Why does he always gets all the recognition?
"This is so unfair!" Michaela whispered to herself, while giving Kent an evil look.
Afterwards, she decided to walk out from the gymnasium.
She can't really help herself but to feel sad because of her situation right now...

Meanwhile, Kent's eyes secretly followed Michaela's every move. He saw her staring at him as if she's casting a spell on him or something...
And it only means one thing. It was obvious that she hated him to the bones...
And he perfectly knows the reason why. Michaela might be thinking that he stole her spotlight away from her again.
It was just pure coincidence that the Basketball Match and the History Olympiad Quiz Bee all happened at the same day. He didn't want this to happen.
But he also feels sorry for her. Michaela always tries her hardest to become a better student, and she makes an extra effort to bring honor to their section, but it's sometimes too much.
Michaela is starting to act like a robot. She's too stiff, serious, and she's always "by the book."
He's also very much aware that Michaela has been competing with him since their Freshmen year.
He's been challenged by Michaela as well.
He also studied like crazy, completed his homework, participated in extra-curricular activities just to get higher grades.
He believes that dedicating your time to study is not that bad, but Michaela should let her hair down once in a while...
Kent snaps out from her reverie when he heard the Vice Captain of their basketball team.
"I hope you didn't forget what you promised us, Captain. You promised that once we win this game, you will treat the whole team to a pizza!" Andrew smilingly reminded him.
"Of course, I can still remember it! Let me just change my clothes and then we'll go straight to Pizzeria House." Kent smilingly responded.
All of the team members cheered in return when they heard what Kent said.
They all went to the Boy's Locker Room to get dressed and go to their favorite pizza house.

"I don't understand why many girls are going gaga over Kent Cervantes! I mean, is there something special about him?" Delphine said, as she talks on the phone with her bestfriend, Sally. 
Her best friend didn’t go to the History Olympiad Quiz Bee because she had measles, and of course, the doctor didn’t allow her to go to school as she might get the other students infected by her...
"Whether we like it or not, Kent has this natural charm. He got brains, and he is athletic. So, he's a complete and total package for girls." Sally answered from the other line.
"Hmp! Don't tell me that you're attracted to him, too?" Michaela interrogated her best friend.
"Of course not! You know who I really like, right?" Sally responded.
"Yeah, yeah. It's none other than Kent's sidekick, Andrew Soriano." Michaela responded, while rolling her eyes heavenward.
"Yes, that's right. He might not be hugely popular to other girls, but he's cute as well." Sally dreamily stated.
"Anyway, let's forget about them. Now I have to make an extra effort and study hard so that I'll be on the top rank!" Michaela stated, while looking determined. 
"But what if Kent becomes gets the top rank instead? What are you going to do?" Sally curiously asks.
"That's never going to happen. I'll make sure of that." Michaela clearly stated.
"Don't get your hopes up, Michaela. We don't know what's going on with Kent. We don't even know what he's thinking right at this very moment." Sally gives her a piece of advice.
"Don't worry, I am already 8 steps ahead of him. I'll still have the last laugh." Michaela confidently answered.
"Well, see about that. Anyway, I'd like to talk to you more but my Mom is here telling me to drink my medicine. I'll talk to you again tomorrow, okay?" Sally finally said.
