So Broken

Chapter Forty eight
So Broken
She ran to him and hugged him tightly. Her heart beat strongly in her chest but she knew it wasn’t because she was afraid of him now but it was sweet, she felt good hugging him but she also couldn’t figure out if it was a good sigh. She sobbed quietly but then suddenly pulled back and started hitting him as she shouted,
“How dare you? How dare you? You scare the hell out out of me. Why did you have to scare me like this?”
“Ouch!! That hurt. ” he said frowning.
She stopped immediately and asked worriedly,
“Did I hit the wrong place?”
“No but it still hurts, gosh you are such a strong lady. I know you can beat me now, I think I should be more careful of you now. ” he said smirking.
She smiled unknowingly to her as King watched her spellbound.
 Then Sheila thought of something,
“But then why didn’t I see you from that little distance?” she asked confusedly. Her eyes were getting dimmer but she didn’t know why.
“I’m sorry and I don’t know why you didn’t see me. The room isn’t that shady is it? Should I change the lights in it?” asked King.
“Maybe you should. ” she said looking around.
She looked at him as something popped in her mind, so she asked,
“What are you doing here at this time of the night?”
“And what are you doing here this time awake?” King asked sneering.
She looked at him closely and said,
“That’s not an answer, now answer me. ”
“I … I wasn’t feeling sleepy so I thought I should come and check on you. You weren’t in a good mood before, so I thought to come and check on you. Is everything okay?” he said nervously.
“I should be asking you that, what’s your worry? Why can’t you sleep?” she asked.
“To be frank, I’m worried about you. There are so many things I know you are not telling me. The reason you were crying before and your reaction right now says a lot. Which says, you are afraid of something and you had gone through something terrible. The fact that, you had come home crying says, something went on when you were out there. What happened to you?” he asked his face scrunched up worriedly.
Sheila looked at him dejectedly, then she thought that maybe it was time for her to open up to him. So she said,
“That’s a whole lot you’ve just said but I will tell you things, when I can okay? Please sit down. ”
They sat down a little closer but it didn’t bother her, in fact she wanted to lean on his shoulder as she spoke but she restrained herself. Her heart beat rapidly in hr chest, as she grew nervous every second because of their closeness. She finally started to speak after thinking about it for sometime as King sat there patiently waiting for her to speak.
“What happened was?”
King’s POV
She told me everything she knew and had gone through, I felt like I had being pierced in the heart. I was bleeding in the heart because I thought I was the only one with troubled mind but the one that gave me comfort was also going the same tragic experience even though hers happened a month back. I was happy I met her but the reason I met her, I didn’t know was this wicked. Then I didn’t know if I should be happy anymore or not.
Being raped, I never thought of that to be the reason for her fear of me. But then how that happened didn’t sit well with me, it seemed there was something else behind the crime. Because that woman did all she could to hide the wicked act which even included the killing of someone. With Sheila knowing the criminal’s face and the tragic moments surrounding her life says, the crime was planned and maybe in some way, the criminal knew that Sarah had seen him and knew him.
Now it was my duty to find that wicked man who tried to kill her after raping her. I had to help her get her revenge, both on that woman and the criminal. I knew it was fate that brought us together because, I had forgotten my parents assassinator face but when I saw that face on the police’s record, I knew that person and he was the one I had being looking for. And we would find her father together, as for Ben, I would make him say all that he knew.
I comforted Sheila in every way possible, after telling me all that she knew. I knew it was a big step for her and she was only telling me after knowing the fake identify of someone she knew as her mom. I guessed she would have gone to her grave with the truth if she was really her mom. She was too loyal for her own good.
She stopped crying after a while and asked me to leave because she had to get some sleep. I got up to leave but she held my hand and asked me if we could listen to some music together.
I agreed, so I went for my phone and came back to meet her in the same position I had left her. God, she looked too lifeless but I didn’t know how to make her live again with smiles all over her face and heart.
I clicked on the music looking at her face and unconsciously clicked on JESS GYLNNE’S SONG BROKEN. I wanted to stop the song but she held my hand as she sang along,
“So broken, so broken
Sometimes I fall down low
And I got nowhere else to go
I hide myself don’t let it show
But you find me
Sometimes when the day goes by
I missed it cause all I did was cry
You always know the reason why
You know me
You always got the words that never let me down, let me down
Always me me laugh somehow
You tell don’t worry, when I’ve done wrong
It’s something I will never know how you could love someone
So broken so right cause all I’ve ever wanted was a little paradise,”
