LIS: 11

“DOC DARRYL and I have already met,” Cheska excitedly told Mikha as they chatted on Skype. It was four o'clock in the afternoon in Seoul and she was staying in one of the rooms at Hanok Homestay - owned by Carter’s family.
She should have been resting now because she barely had enough sleep since the other night. Her body and mind were tired. But she still couldn't sleep, she was excited to tell her friend about what’s been happening to her in Seoul.
“Did you mean you already saw Doc Darryl's grave in Jeju Island? That’s good then,” Mikha said with a smile. “By the looks of you have now, it seemed you already did. You are finally at peace and it looks like you are excited to move on with your life.”
Cheska shook her head. “No. He is here in Seoul.”
“W-wait. You’re in Seoul? Do you mean, Doc Darryl’s grave had been moved to Seoul? When were you informed? Did you talk to his cousin Jaimee?”
She and Jaimee haven’t talked for a while now since Jaimee had been sent by her church to a healing church in Bukidnon. She was sick. She did tell her that she was going to South Korea to visit her cousin’s grave but Jaimee did not reply to her message.
“Nope. I did not see the tomb but Doc Darryl himself. He is alive and I am right here in their house,” she told her friend. "I am staying here with them."
Mikha tilted her head. “Hold up a minute. What do you mean by their house? What the heck really happened, Cheska? Start from the beginning. You’re supposed to be in Jeju Island now, visiting Doc Darryl’s grave for your much-needed closure, but you ended up in Seoul, you were with him, and you were at his house? Are you on drugs? Or have you eaten too much spicy food there?”
Cheska took a deep breath. She knew she was not coherent and she was not making any sense. She just blurted out some nonsense because she was too excited to tell her friend about this. "First thing first, I'm not in Jeju Island."
The friend's eyes widened. "What happened?"
She bit the tip of her pointy finger. “I didn’t make it to my flight. I missed getting off the Gimpo Airport from my train.”
“What? Cheska, I told you to be aware of the stations. Why did you miss your own flight? Did you sleep on the train?”
She sighed once again. “My train was approaching Gimpo Airport when I saw him. Doc Darryl.”
"You mean, Doc Darryl's ghost was on the train?"
“Nope. Silly. He was the one who caught me when I was shoved aside by a group of students on the train. He helped me up. He did not leave me. When you see him, you will think that Doc Darryl came back to life. And he is here with me.”
It was Mikha’s turn to sigh. “He wasn’t Doc Darryl? He’s not a ghost?”
“No. He is a living and breathing human flesh.”
Her friend folded her arms over her chest. "And who is he?"
“Carter Meneses. He said he had no Korean blood in him. His mother just married a Korean so he moved here and decided to work here as well. It’s impossible that he and Doc Darryl were siblings but they really look like they were twins. He even helped me rebook my flight. But cheap flights were only available next week so I’m staying in Seoul for a while.” Cheska was smiling from ear to ear. "They let me stay in their house."
"So, you’ll go to Jeju Island next week?”
"It's fine. Doc Darryl will tour me around Seoul. He would take me to all the romantic places here where Korean dramas had a shoot.
"You mean Carter will tour you around."
She ignored her friend’s last comment. “And I am very much welcome here. Eoma and I are already close,” she said in a sing-songed voice, her hands touching her cheeks. “His family had accepted me.”
"You mean you’re not depressed that you were not able to go to Jeju Island to visit Doc Darryl’s grave?” Mikha asked softly.
"For now, I’ll stay here with Doc Darryl of Seoul,” she said happily. “I want to make the most out of it. I’m starting to like it here and I’m happy being here. I’ll be contented even if I don’t leave the house. I’m with him now. I've been dreaming of this for a long time, to be together with him.”
“Ah! Let me clarify, huh? Doc Darryl was never resurrected and became an English tutor there in Seoul. Is that right?”
Cheska was forced to nod. "Y-yes."
"He has a name, the man who looks like Doc Darryl. And his name is Carter Meneses. So stop calling him Doc Darryl already. I'm feeling cringey,” Mikha said, stroking her own hands. “Get in touch with reality. Don’t mix them up. Doc Darryl and Carter. They are two different people.”
“How can I separate them? They are so identical. Can you blame me? My emotion was so overwhelming. You know that feeling when you finally meet in person that someone you only see in pictures and on TV? It feels like Doc Darryl come alive. And when I hugged him, I just cried. Because I've wanted to do that for a long time.”
"To Doc Darryl, you can't do that anymore."
“Yes. So please, I know it is crazy. B-but I can't help what I feel. How I feel. I felt like my heart died when I found out Doc Darryl passed away but it started beating again when I saw him. Do you understand me?"
“Yes. I’m trying to understand you. But you have to live in reality. You can't call him Doc Darryl. That would be too weird. Start by calling the living guy with his name - Carter.”
"Carter," she said in a calm tone. "Carter Oppa." She shook her head. “It felt weird to me. Calling him Doc Darryl is what I’m used to.”
"Does he know that he looks like the person at the grave you were supposed to visit?" her friend asked and tapped a finger on her chin.
