Chapter 12 Countless Stars

I let my feet rush out of the village and I no longer know where I must go. I saw the folks' bodies lying on the ground, deeply asleep yet their souls cries out the more and I alone have heard of it.
'What's going on?'
I felt the fear within me yet I continued to run without having any plan when to stop. I felt how I barely breathe air and my knees began to tremble, I let my body fall soft on the dirt and I stumbled myself along the grassy field. I flinched in pain when deep scratches covered my skin, I let out of a sigh as I proceeded to compose myself.
I cannot let my tears fall down my cheeks, it only reveals how weak and hurt I am right now.
"I miss my father," I mumbled and closes my eyelids as if I was about to reminisce the lovely moments I had with him.
I am always close to his heart since before, he has been the first man who made me realize that I need to be brave as well. He thought me how to protect myself because as time goes by, he knew he won't belong on my side. He is not here with me, and I feel so lonely and afraid.
I opened my sight and I gaze at the stars, there are some of them and I could not count their numbers. "The night sky would always appear beautiful in my sight," I whispered and breathe heavily.
I raise my hands assuming I could touch them yet a drop of mist gradually falls down the earth. "Would it rain?" I asked myself upon realizing the tiny drops of water from above.
"...Will you forever lie awake?" I halted from overthinking and my stares automatically laid on the man who spoke, he walks near me and I saw his face smirking. "I apologize for following you, I was thinking of keeping myself away from you," he uttered and leaned closer to me, bending his knees to reach for my cheeks.
"And I guess you failed to restrain from me?" I asked and lightly pulled myself up to sit on the ground. I find it uncomfortable to have him around me, he is literally scaring my soul and I have a feeling of being in danger.
I glance at his countenance and there I recalled something, "Are you the prince from the underworld?" I questioned and that made him step back.
"What made you think of that?" and I heard him stutter. I smirked upon seeing him shifting his gazes.
"I heard you earlier, you told me you shall destroy this world."
"... I did," he was piercing his stares at me and I just sat at the grassy ground whilst glancing at him. "But you seem to be fragile to me, you do not appear scary at all," I uttered and I saw how his lips parted and wonder.
"Is that what you are destined to?" I asked once more.
He kept silent and I only waited for him to speak once again, "Why do you seem to be unable to speak?"
"Do you want to know the truth?" he questioned and he leaned even closer to my direction.
"I wish to," I whispered and lowered my head as I began to take a peek at the withered blooms on the grassy ground. I bit my lower lip as I glance at him and I saw his stares being darted towards mine.
"... I was made to ruin the world, to confuse mankind and to steal their souls," he began to speak and every word that come out from his mouth made me feel the sudden shivering cold.
I took the courage to gaze at him and throw a question, "What for?" I heard his breathing and he let go of a sigh as he gently sat beside me.
"Do you see the stars?" he ask and I simply nodded my head and lifted my eyes to behold the beauty of the countless stars.
"I was once one of them, and I shine differently, I was deceived and thought that perhaps it is a consequence of how prideful I have become." He proceeded to speak and I only hear him out, allowing him to open up about the truth.
"What went on?" I raised a question and simply took a glimpse of his countenance, I saw how he tug his edges and glance at me.
"The King already knew about it, he was discerning every movement I brought. And eventually, it causes me of my sudden fall." Upon hearing his utterance, I felt how my heart thuds shortly, and behold, I find myself sensing sympathy towards him.
I gave attention to how his voice became deeper, I do not want to guess what I have been recently feeling yet why does it appear like something which causes my tears to tumble?
"He thrown me into the underworld and there I met my brothers, they are isolated in the deepest chamber and they shall soon wake up," his phrases made my heart keep throbbing within my chest, every detail he mentioned seemed to be unfit as I tried to process them inside my mind.
"... Thrille, Do you really have to ruin the world?" I asked which made him glance at me, his complexion shifted and he look puzzled.
I shifted my gaze and looked at him in his eyes. His deep dusky irises were gleaming and I only let go of a sigh before I took the courage to speak. "You see, there is something more that you can do, you do not need to fulfill what is written in your fate. Not all the time you need to do wrong if it causes for everybody's ruin, you can always choose the right thing."
It comes off that he didn't get what I mean, he consciously tilted toward me, and his face is so close that I scarcely gasp for air. "Do you mean rewriting what is fated to arise?" he questioned and I gradually nodded. He did not sit back straight but instead, he stares intensely at me. "How am I able to do that? I crave for demise and catastrophe," he whispered with his eyes bulging at me.
"Getaway," I hissed and rarely drives him off. He simply scowled and went back to his previous stance in settling beside me.
"I have no idea why I'm talking to you, I still have to scheme for the forthcoming war yet here I am, gazing at the stars and bitterly attending to your voice."
"How clever, you appear to be so serious about it. You don't know how overwhelming it is for me, Thrille. Shall I bow before you, imploring you to discontinue all this nonsense?" I let my voice sound sarcastic, I could no longer think of any idea how to stop him from his evil.
"You look desperate, I must say. Go beyond the borders and let yourself decide, it is either you shall lower your pride and invade the other kingdoms to ask for their comfort or just simply let yourself lose and watch how the territories wreck."
"I despise your presence!" I blurted out and glared at him. To my surprise, he arose from squatting on the dirt, and he let his feet travel from a distance. I take a hold of my tears yet I could not grasp them any longer. They flowed like a stream of water and I felt the ache within my chest. "Thrille, you can save the world," I muttered yet he only gaze at me.
"Please, I know you will..."
"I could if I wanted to."
"... But I can see that you won't, why?" I felt defeated and lost. All I thought was I could persuade him to change his mind. I did hope, but why do I feel failure?
"Convince me..." I heard him and so I lifted my face once again to see his complexion yet he only shows those cold stares.
"I must go, let the countless stars be our witness to this night, you shall be mine, Terra." In a blink of an eye, he vanished in the thin air and I alone have left.
I once more lifted my face to behold the twinkling lights from above, it is so captivating. "I wish to unfold the mysteries in our land, and I wish to see what the destiny has brought for me."
I felt so frightened, I could not think of anything to assist myself from breaking down. Why am I in this situation? Why is fate playing with me?
Who really am I?
"Lorelei reveals to Terra where the book was hidden, yet Sage heard them and she doesn't want her to get the book. She killed the old man at the town's library."
Meanwhile, as I observed how the sky had its transition, I jumps out of my place when I heard a voice of a woman. I suddenly felt a shivering cold down my spine and as I turned my back to see her countenance, her stares were all on me.
"Lorelei?" I mentioned her name and she began to walk nearby. I only followed her movements, and as she arrived at my whereabouts she lifted her eyes towards the sky.
"You need to get back to the village, Terra. There is something that you must know before you depart from this place," she stated.
"... What is it?"
Suddenly, the breeze of the air shifted, and behold, the raindrops began to fall heavily. "About the hidden book, it reveals the map towards the gates of Ethereal," she stated.
"Bring me there," I pleaded yet she only waves her hands above and a spark began to commence and form a pattern.
"You must search for it, find this place and there shall be a man who will assist you." She reveals a vision and I felt astounded as I lifted my eyes to see it.
"Bring the book with you before anyone could steal it,"
Her final words keep on playing inside my head and my lips parted upon thinking where I must go to seek the place she revealed to me. I flee from the field and I run back to the village yet as I arrived at the wilderness, a hairy creature growl at me.
A werewolf was about to devour me yet my hands are quicker than his attack, I hasten to tug my bow and select my arrow. My heart beats rapidly as I recklessly pointed the arrowhead at the beast yet before I could let go of the bowstring, the werewolf raised his claw and attempted to scratch me. He merely bruised my arm and before he could have another raid, a spear flee before my sight and hit the werewolf right on its skull.
"What?" I felt surprised, I instantly followed the direction to where it comes from. And I saw a figure of a man wearing a hood from a distance, he hurries to run away the moment I glance at his location.
I heard the beast growl even stronger and I let my feet run flat on the ground, thinking of chasing after the man who helped me.
"Wait! hold on!" I attempted to grab his attention yet he only run even faster.
I raced to the forest and I felt scared upon seeing myself encircled by the enormous hedges. "Damn!" I hissed in annoyance and halted from running. I could no longer see his silhouette yet one thing caught my attention.
"What is this?" I mumbled upon seeing a piece of the page on the ground. I crouched on the dirt to see it clearly and my eyes rounded in surprise the moment I figured it is from a book.
"Someone might tear this page?" I muttered and took the piece, I put it inside my satchel, and I headed my way towards the exit.
"I need to go back to the village in some way, I find it uneasy to see how beasts greeted my sight along the path."
