Chapter 17 Behind The Tales

The King felt troubled upon knowing his fate. He could not move nor utter any single phrase as he let the woman take her exit. He felt astounded at the revelation that Lorelei Belmont uncovered. He values his sons so much for they are the ones who shall continue to rule the kingdom, he cannot afford to lose them, and even if he wants to protest earlier about the vision, he could not speak for it triggers his crooked heart.
"What has gone earlier that your spirit seems to be troubled?" The Queen muttered as she gently tapped his shoulder, comforting him at least.
The King shrugged his shoulders and ignored the presence of his spouse. "Something came up which deeply disturbed my peace, my life is in threat." His phrases caused the Queen to gasped, her heart began to feel numb as she attempted to reflect on herself.
"Who told you such thing, my beloved?" With her fearful countenance, she reached for his face and cupped his cheeks. "Who are these people who dream to steal the life of the King?"
His complexion shifted as if his heart is innocent. He does not want his wife to know his vicious schemes for he is afraid that she might flee from him. "It saddened my heart to comprehend that the vision I saw ahead is our son."
Upon listening to his words, the Queen barely loses her strength. With her shaky knees, she nearly falls on the floor and she began to sobs. "What do you mean? Why would our son take your life?" She questioned and was still unsettled within her mind.
"I haven’t had time to think that through yet."
Their hearts grieve in dread and the ravens became their witness to that day.
Thornsfrost has been known to be a strict territory where individuals are caged in their superiority laws. The kingdom strictly implemented regulations that will eventually overwhelm the townsmen, however, forbid women to cut their hair and they make men downgrade the ladies in the town, abusing them. Folks normalize bloodbath for it is what the law says so—whoever disobeys and fails the rules shall receive their death. They practice robbery and destroy bonds with their fellow folks and their other works caused them to sin endlessly. They are hiding a dark secret that the other kingdoms shall unravel, the kingdom shall destroy the rest of the royalties to keep the secret hidden that shall hinder their nation to prosper. Yet what is that puzzle?
The fables foretold the land of Moresis pertaining to the monarchs who domain the underworld. A battle between good and evil, who caused the country to be overwhelmed with numerous tales. Confused they are of what to believe, as decades come next, their ancestors have forgotten about the good and they permit the evil to dwell among their midst.
Yet it all began years ago when the Caddels ruled over the entire land of Lanslow—the forgotten kingdom.
In the far land of Lanslow, there lived a Royal Family, the Caddel. They ruled the entire land and the people of each different city. They have become a good example, and almost perfect yet a sudden catastrophe occurred, causing the land to have famine and many died.
"What has transpired into our kingdom? Our people are dying, what must we do to revive our territory?" The Queen blurred out as she continued to weep in great despair. It broke her heart upon seeing how dry their land had become.
"We never lose hope, my queen. The heavens shall aid us," the King replied and embraced her into his arms.
Unable to bring back the jolly safe town, the Caddel Family did something to extricate the people. They inclined with the Celestial beings but unfortunately, they erroneously address them and offend the angels so they could not assist the land. The King soon discovered about sorcery, he sold his soul to the ringleader of the Underworld, Hades in exchange for peace in their land.
"What are your desire and I shall consent them," Hades questioned with a smirk on his countenance. The King knelt on the marbled floor as he yearns for a wish that he shouldn't have spoken.
"O Hades hear my petition, my soul shall be yours, only if you bring back the peace and joy in the hearts of my people and restore our land," he confessed, and a dark fume filled the four corners of the chamber.
A gloomy shade of mist enters the King and he screamed from the top of his lungs as he was frightened of the stinging discomfort he felt. Despite all of that, he told nobody.
It came to pass, 5 years of having a peaceful and quiet place. All of a sudden, the love of many grew cold, unity could not be there to be displayed. The people were having a tough duty upon building a huge wall on their territory, the King's order. They gained peaceful and normal lives yet the joy and love and unity upon each and everyone suddenly disappeared. They have been enslaved by greediness, having no compassion for one another, they are tormented by an endless punishment.
The townsmen toiled all day, performing their heavy labor. With their lips seamed and with their ears covered, the magistrates blinded their sight and they are being fenced in with responsibilities in their kingdom.
They are like puppets, being controlled in all they do. The harmony, the righteousness, and the passion to the hearts of many fade away.
"Father, what has sprung up into our kingdom? Why are you being so hard on them?" Haerith their seven years old daughter questioned as she pondered in her heart the disaster that occurred before her sight.
"We must establish our stronghold, my daughter. I could sense that many kingdoms shall rebel against us, I need to protect our people."
The lass gazed at her father with sorrowful eyes. "Father, that is not you. How could you say you want to protect us if you are already putting them to death with hard labor?"
Those phrases he heard from his daughter made him feel guilty. He kept quiet as he began to reflect on all his deeds. "Where is the king who's filled with compassion for his people? This is not me," he mumbled and sighed.
Time runs fast and it was midnight. A cry of a child filled the entire room as midwives assisted the Queen upon giving labor into a beautiful baby. It was the moment when Caddel's youngest was born, Harlow Caddel.
As she grows up, she was told to do the same thing as what their people do, that is to sin. The Caddel convinced her to believe the devil. But she's stubborn, she desires a huge change upon seeing her people being isolated, imprisoned, and enslaved by sins. She begs her Father to set them free and start building a new rule that will help the townsmen to have their freedom. Yet, no one dared to listen to her.
"Father, please do hear out my petition. Can't you see how they mourned for freedom? Punish me instead," Harlow took her courage to face the king, and the servants witnessed how she attempted to fight for them. Yet sadly, King Thaddeus ignored her. His heart is hardened and they can't do anything about it.
Harlow grew up with love and she was prohibited to come out of their kingdom considering that she receives many love letters from her suitors. Numerous kingdoms attempted to pay a visit just to behold her astonishing beauty yet none of them caught her attention, none of them made her heartbeats to their finest.
Not until she met her father's friend, the King of the underworld, Hades. He likes her so much, he lusted for her and he badly wants her to be his. He often observed her around, and he admire every tip of her yet he soon found out that he has a rival.
Hades wants to own Harlow, he did all he could just to have their closure yet she despises her upon knowing his plans for the world. Harlow seek for council, she read hundreds of books and locked herself inside their library. The fact that she receives various love letters from different princes from different kingdoms— she's out of focus and once more she rejected all her suitors. After almost a month of seeking, she finally found the right book, and inside of it was a map towards the place of celestial beings—the Truest Crest.
A book that uncovers the mysteries of both the heavens and hell. "The map," she whispered and kept the book to herself. She knows that the King will surely scold her the moment they found out about it.
Harlow attempted to read what was inside of it yet unfortunately she failed to comprehend every phrase. She could not understand every single letter from it. On that very day, a prince from the far east ask for the king and queen to visit the youngest daughter, Harlow was forced to meet the prince who wished to behold her.
Yet as she traipsed her feet on the aisle, the moment their eyes met, she's fallen.
"His irises were as of the brightest star which twinkles its spark and flutters my heart," she mumbled and with excitement in her heart, she accepted his hand.
She admire how charming and attractive he was, the prince has the same feelings for her and so he planned to propose yet the Queen and King disagreed. They strictly follow a rule, the oldest sister must be married first before the youngest and so the whole kingdom was occupied seeking for a worthy Prince to marry Princess Haerith. But there's no one found worthy, and so Prince Sebastian Williams married Haerith and they bore children.
"Who are her children? They are the Williams. Alcott, Sam and Sage, and their family were cursed," said the man as he brushes his hair and gazes at the two ladies who are listening to his story.
"No... What went on? Why is your family cursed?" Her question was not answered for he proceeded to finish the untold story of their clan.
Hurt and depressed upon what occurred, Harlow rebelled. She continued to seek somebody who can interpret the map, scared to approach the sorcerer's home because they will end up reporting everything to the King, She decided to do it on her own. She read hundreds of books and get knowledge about the map, she explored and research the possible stuff to cop up with the unknown language and she often sees herself coming back to the archive.
Not too soon, there she met Yeshua, who happened to be the King of the Truest, disguising himself as one of the farmers who live at the cliff. He is a good friend and he always counsels her. One time he told her the truth, and her eyes were opened. Yet still, she is naive to forgive those who put pain in her heart. Impulsive of her decision, she loathed her sister and part of her rebellion was to escape from the Castle.
She went out of the borders and run towards the dark woods, which were known to be a tricky wilderness. People who enter the woods disappear and are found no more. Upon evading the territory, the guards caught her, yet she was chased by a black unicorn. The guards perceived that she was killed and was no more there in the woods. They mourned for her death, and Sebastian felt shattered, unable to love his own family.
"Please don't tell me she died back there?"
"I am still baffled by how this works, I am still figuring out the possible connection to end this turmoil."
Harlow found herself amid the forest, bleeding. She tried to get away yet there's no door, or open way, she waited there, alone and in cold. Until suddenly, a light flashes in front of her and the wind blow as strong as the coming storms. She saw feathers falling from above and as she lifted her face, she saw an angel.
She was brought to the Truest and surprised by what she saw, she stayed there and thought that she's dreaming. Upon staying there, she met Yeshua once more and they talked a lot of things. Her stay was great until she met Zachary, a prince and a warrior from the Truest Heights.
"Zachary? I think I heard such name,"
As they proceeded to think vastly, Celeste couldn't help herself but to open up of the thoughts that's bothering her mind. "I heard that Hades has two other brothers, I have come to realize that Thrille is one of them."
"What?" Terra barely gasp for air as she tries to process the words she heard.
"You are somewhat right," said the man named Sam.
