Chapter 16 The King's Desire
Terra's PoV
The sun has risen and the rays hit my bare skin, I got up from laying down the dirt and glanced at the horizon. I still have much time to at least go back to the place where Thrille and I usually encounter.
I had a chance to tie my messy hair and I momentarily paused upon recalling the cut portion of my front hair. The length is still the same, I wonder when shall it grow longer? It is quite disturbing to know that many individuals have seen it. It will only reveal to them that I disobeyed the law of our kingdom.
As I was thinking vastly of some circumstances that need to arise, I halted in my place when I felt a sharp edge being pointed on my jaw. My eyes widened in sincere alarm the moment I figured out it was owned by a woman. Her brown eyes were raging as she glares at me and I could feel the tension between the two of us. She has short wavy hair which was coated with chocolates. Who is she?
"Ano ang nais mo makuha mula sa akin? Sino ka?" She questioned which causes me to feel awestricken. I felt baffled upon hearing her words, what is she attempting to enunciate?
I couldn't understand any single word she uttered and so I raised my brows at her and speak. "From what territory are you? Are you an intruder? Speak our language, lady." I demanded and stepped aback yet she was alarmed and in just a snap, she wasn't hesitant to bruise me at all.
She raised her arm and whirl the dagger towards me, it sliced my cheek and it bled. It was a light attack yet still it stung, I barely move in my foot as I was trying to relieve myself.
"Now answer me, what do you want from me, woman?" She retorted once more and this time she used vernacular.
"Allow me to ask you a question as well, are you the woman named Celeste?" Her lips parted and she gulped upon my suspicion yet the more she points the dagger at me.
"Shall I steal your life and allow the worms to devour your flesh? What is it with me? You seem to be desperate to pursue me, are you here owing of obeying someone's command? Did the magistrates send you to bring my head to their feet?" Her words were as of a piercing sword, they were sharp.
"I have nothing to do with what you are asserting, I am here as a consequence of the witch's attack." I throw my glares at her and hastily step forward to snatch the blade from her grip. I throw it away and eventually pulled her collar.
"You burnt the forest, didn't you?" I glared at her and so did what she did to me.
"What do you care? Thornsfrost deserves it, what do they get when they chained me?" She let go of a smirk and followed by her attack, she step aback and kicked me off. She hit my chest and so I barely gasp for air.
She run away to get her weapon yet I tried so hard to move and grab my bow, in an instant I release my arrow and it pricked to her leg. "Don't you ever dare to flee from me," I firmly asserted and rush my feet toward her direction. I attempted to grab her shoulder yet she was fast and instantly snatched the blade from the ground. She thrust it into my leg and got the luck to forcefully pluck the arrow from her leg.
"Lumayo ka mula sa akin kung hindi mo gusto maagawan ng buhay," I heard her speak and I feel so numb, I endured the stinging injury and did my very best to stand again.
"I warned you, speak our language!" I blurted out and prepared myself to attack her yet I was interrupted when I heard a voice from behind.
"Enough with that."
I shifted my gaze and turned my back to catch a glimpse of the man who owns such a hoarse voice. "What do you want?" I throw a question and a smirk escaped from his edges.
"She would not tell you what you must do if you are too soon to end her life," he spoke and walks ahead. He went his way to us and enunciate a phrase. "I told you afore that she is not a threat," he firmly muttered.
"She didn't concede the moment I asked for her name." I merely glared at him and withstand the sting on my leg. It is bleeding severely and the same goes for her wound.
"Remove such view away from my sight," I heard the man speak and I rolled my eyes before tearing the hem of my dress. Unbelievable, how could this beast be here?
"You must not display any blood in my sight for whoever's sake, women. Aren't the two of you aware that I am a sucker?" He distanced himself from us as he covers his nose with his palm, averting from the aroma of our injury.
"Nakakainis naman ang lalaking 'to, inaakala niya siguro na ang astig niya." The woman named Celeste muttered, and I simply raised my brows at her. I walk ahead overcoming the injury which stung my leg and I went near the man who was standing before us.
"You can plainly call me Sam, anyhow, if you wish to understand how to defeat your adversaries, you must know the roots of them."
"What?" I was baffled for a moment yet I eventually managed to stay put and gaze at them. I can no longer tell who to trust and where to go. Only if Ezekiel is here, I wouldn't be in so much trouble.
"You know I can read your thoughts, Terra. Do you want to guess what am I?" I froze on my location upon hearing his phrase and I saw how he let go of a smirk on his face.
"Fool me all you want, I shall certainly bury you alive."
Lorelei's PoV
"I must prophesy all the revelations I had seen to the king's fate." I barely chuckled at the thought. Indeed it is somewhat absurd to admit that I must go to his kingdom and warn him of the danger that awaits at the door. It is similar to sacrificing myself to his hand.
As I enter the entrance gate of the territory, a vision flashes inside my head and indeed it is a catastrophe that needs to unravel.
I proceeded to wander my feet until I reached the hall. "Here you are, Lorelei. Aren't you frightened of the thought that you are now throwing yourself to the vultures?" I was stiffed upon hearing his voice. The atmosphere became heavy as I felt him behind, I could imagine his foolish smirks.
"I am here to present myself to foretell your future, O king." And I was right upon beholding his countenance, I want to grin after seeing his complexion. I could sense the fear in him.
"What is it this time?" Bitterness could be heard in every phrase he retorted and I simply smirks at him. I could not visualize how messy this realm is, as I was allowed to come down in this world, I gradually learned how human thinks and I discerned how wicked their hearts could be.
"If the king permits me to speak before him without any threats awaiting at the barriers, then I must confess the truth before his presence."
I saw how he simply raised his hand to signaled me to speak. And so I deliberately dropped my head to bow at him, foolishness it was to be done by an angel like me.
"Thornsfrost, the kingdom governed by the Ambers shall be stricken. Your foes shall cause danger and they will never stop unless they reap your treasures." I paused and gasp for air and was about to utter once more yet I was stopped by his loud footsteps.
"What else must take place? What shall need to be done?" He hastily reached the center of the hall and come over to my direction with his troubled spirit.
I took heavy breathing and speak, "... There is no other way to figure out the remedy, your highness. Your life shall be put to its line and you shall confront death." Upon what he hears, he was stiffed on his location and he could not at least move a single inch. His eyes were wide open as he glared at me. I simply stood straight and gaze at his irises.
"One of your sons shall execute you, and you cannot do anything about it O king. Your soul shall soon dip in the lake of fires with Hades," and I witness how fear devoured his corpse.
I left his presence in the throne room and I could not help myself but let a smirk escape from my edges. This territory is filled with wicked rulers with their crooked ordinances. All of them shall instantly perish.Download Novelah App
