The breath of air dashes into the lush leaves and they dance along with the singing birds, chirping, lounging in the trunks. The subtle prom of the pretty blossoms had its grace along with the grasses. Dorothy Scott smiled upon witnessing the refreshing scenery of the hospital's yard. The recent smell of the view that's about to behold opposes the expected scent inside the building. "You like the view, didn't you?" She asked and a gentle laugh pulled out of her mouth. Mace Leo narrowly nodded. She watches the sun rays as they scramble the clouds. "You must have enjoyed this area? I can see that genuine smile of yours," she added, which made the lass shrug off with a shy smile. "I met my older brother here, and this place somewhat created an impact on me. I made three paintings of this garden, do you wanna see it?" She glances at Leo momentarily before unleashing a sheepish smile. "Painting has been my favorite when I was a kid, I used to sketch too, I often shade whenever I am unhappy." She added. "God is so good for entrusting you with such talent in arts, I would love to see your wonderful works, Dorothy." Mace Leo commented. She noticed how the complexion of Scott changes upon hearing what she utters. "I observe that you often mention Him." She leaned closer, browsing Leo's features. "What are you?" She asked with a low tone of voice. Mace kept silent shortly. "... I'm a Christian, well, some find it strange, yet for me, I'm confident about it." "So you know much about Him?" Scott asked, gazing at her, she tucked her hair and leaned back on the seat. She waited for her to respond, the curiousness within her soul arising. "Yes, and I believe in Him..." Leo replied, she pointed her head and shifted into her heart, "Knowing is simply in the mind while believing is in the heart, it could lead to trusting Him, that means faith." "Okay, tell me more about it." Her low voice would make anyone think she's whispering. Mace heavily breathed and gazed onto the beautiful sky, she momentarily locked her eyes and mumbled a prayer. "God, I know you will never put to shame those who long to please your heart. This hour, let her see You in me." The moment Scott parted her lips and spoke, Mace didn't utter anything yet she let her finish her words. "You know what? I'm confused why I'm suffering this kind of pain, you see, I'm injured, I nearly met my death many times yet I failed to do it. Nobody cares after all, yet I was hoping that there would be a person who'll notice and see my misery." "... Dorothy, you might not understand what's happening to you, but I know that one day, you will. Everything happens for a reason, there's a time to be sorrowful yet there's also a time to smile once again." Mace Leo clarified, hoping that Scott would understand. "You mean there's a rainbow after a storm?" She asked with a bitter complexion. "That's right." "It's really embarrassing to share my thoughts and life with you, Mace." Scott retorted, she shrugged her shoulders and frowned. "Why? Do I seem to judge easily?" She disputed, Dorothy stared at her momentarily. "If you think life is too evil because you experienced such distress, well let me tell you this... life isn't bad at all, it's the world which eventually ruins you with problems and pain." "You think so?" A sigh flew from her mouth. "We just met earlier, and sharing my thoughts with you could probably distractive you..." "Not at all, Dorothy. In fact, I really like to hear more, giving advice and comforting someone encourages me." "You're strange," Scott commented while browsing at her countenance. "So, tell me more about your deep thoughts, it's actually a good way to make you feel better. I could sense the burden within you." "To be honest, I was jealous of the thought about your friendship with Astrid. She's lucky because she's got a person to be with whenever she fails." The sadness in her voice made Mace feel guilty. Her hands travel into her shoulder, tapping her. "Can I give you a hug?" She asked which made Dorothy stare at her, those tears in the corner of her eyes were lingering. A bitter smile escaped from her lips as she hurried to dart into her embrace. "Thank you, Mace. We're really not close and I just met you, yet you made me feel I'm never alone, and that I deserve to be loved." Dorothy whispered, incapable of letting go and however sensing the warmth of her hug. "Of course you're loved, maybe not in this world, but by the heavenly Father above. You know what? You might find me strange because I speak about Him, yet I believe that He sent me here for a purpose, and that is, to meet you, Dorothy. He believes that it's never too late for you to live a pleasant life, a new start with Jesus." But then upon hearing her words, she gently releases her grip. She eases her head, looking at the leafy grass that touches her feet. "Do you think He's real and that He really sent you for me?" She mumbled, letting out a sigh before glancing in Mace Leo's direction. "I respect your belief, and it somehow convinces me that there's a God out there. Thanks for your time, Mace." She launched to stand up, taking the chance to walk ahead yet before she could have her steps, she paused upon hearing the voice of Leo. "You must let go of the burdens you have and the hatred within your heart, Dorothy. In that way, you can feel His presence and love. Let Him open your mind and heart, grace and peace to you, be blessed always." Those words which pierced through her heart made her tears fall down her cheeks, making her sob. "You don't quite know what's going on with my life, but thanks for making me feel that He's real. Just... Not now, I don't think it's the right time, I can't completely surrender everything under His feet. It's hard, Mace..." She sighed, proceeding to walk inside the building, her heart feels heavy and her mind felt empty. Mace Leo shrugged her shoulders off and watched Dorothy Scott take her to leave, she bitterly smiled and breathed heavily. "Please touch her heart, God." "I wish I had that kind of heart and mindset like her, perhaps I could understand," Scott whispered, and as she walked down the aisle of the building, she crossed paths with Sullivan, she hastily averted her eyes and ran her way towards her room. "Hey, I was looking for you, Mace. What are you doing here? I encountered Astrid's friend along the way," Kyaellani Sullivan uttered upon arriving at the place. She saw her friend sitting quietly at the cemented seat with her back leaned on while closing her eyes. "Uh, excuse me? Are you praying or just simply sensing the fresh air?" "One of the best things I ever did was to approach a suicidal patient and encourage her, telling how Jesus loves her despite all her wrongs." Mace Leo muttered, Sullivan shrugged off, glancing at her friend's countenance, and seeing her a bit glad makes her smile. "I'm happy seeing you like that, I remembered that's your main goal so yeah, can we go to the mall?" "Maybe we should go," she replied and they went off the place.
