He just kept walking down the driveway and down the sidewalk. He didn't know where he was going. He didn't have a plan. He could go back to Uni, his tuition and everything was already paid for and it was non-refundable so Eden and Dean wouldn't get the money back anyway, but the thought of going back there felt wrong. It felt like he wasn't really leaving and he needed to. He needed to leave and be done with it or it would end up hurting everyone even more. He just knew he couldn't stay there. He had fucked up royally and now he was paying for it. So for now, he would just walk around until he knew what to do. He didn't know how long that would be but he was thankful that the weather wasn't being a cliché right now with pouring rain and thunder. No, it was actually a nice night, a slight breeze that would have given him a slight chill if it weren't for the jumper he had grabbed. The sky was clear, the stars twinkling in the dark sky and it was kind of calming. It helped clear his head of the storm it was currently in. In a matter of few seconds, his life changed drastically. Because of a few seconds, he had lost his family- the one thing he's ever wanted and actually had for a while- was gone, and it was all his fault. He couldn't even bring himself to blame Asher even a little bit because it was all on him. It wasn't Asher's fault that Cailen couldn't control himself. It wasn't Asher's fault that Cailen was attracted to guys. It was Cailen's. He had no one to blame but himself. He wasn't sure how long he had been walking but soon, he heard his phone chime saying he had a message. Cailen wiped at his face again, digging into his jean pocket and pulled out his phone. It was a message from William and as he read the first message, another came through. Wil : Im drunk im home and I needd watre : Warte** : Waterr** : Ah, fuck it. Plz brinng me taht clear liquid stuff thing Message after message came through, horribly misspelled, making Cailen's heart ache because William had no idea. He had no idea yet and would probably be crushed when he found out. Not necessarily crushed that he left, but crushed that Cailen was who he was because that's not the brother he grew up with and grew to love. About a minute later, another stream of messages came through. Wil : Where r u??? : Y is Ash in ur bed? : Caiiiiiiiii I need watre : The stairs r 2 hard 2 go down Cailen kept walking as he watched message after message come through, begging him to get William some water. Tears were coming to his eyes again as he read the messages. He was going to miss William. He was going to miss him so much. William was his best friend, his brother. He had made Cailen feel wanted when he felt like there wasn't a person in the world who wanted him. And he would never see him again. Matt : Go get ur bro water. Im not going back there. Another message came through, making him stop in his tracks, his hand shaking with the new flood of tears. Wil : I think I woke up mom mm : I tripped on teh h stairs and hit the wall : Im sorry yee Then another set. Noah : Tell Wil to stop texting me, I'm trying to sleep! : Is Ash okay? : Cai, are you okay? Then another from his brother. Wil : I got ym water no thx 2 u Cailen turned his phone off, unable to handle it anymore. They were all clueless as to where he was, where he was going and what was going on. He wondered if they would be sad or just pissed off when they found out but decided it wouldn't help to think about that. Instead, he pocketed his phone and took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. When he looked up, he saw that he was standing in front of a twenty four hour corner shop, the bright light blurring in his vision. Cailen dug into his jumper pocket, grabbing his wallet and checking to see if he had any cash on him. He didn't, unfortunately, and he wasn't going to use his credit card to buy a bottle of water. Instead, he shoved it back in his pocket and was about to keep walking when he noticed a piece of paper on the ground. He bent down to pick it up, unfolding the paper with shaky fingers. He recognized the two names immediately and the address of his biological mother and remembered he had shoved it in his jumper before the party. It must have fallen out when he took out his wallet. Cailen crumpled the paper in his hand, shoving his hand in his pocket and kept walking. He still had no idea where he was going or what to do when he got there but he couldn't stay still. He had to keep moving, but as he was walking, he gripped the piece of paper in his hand tighter and tighter, trying to ignore the urge to bring it back out and read it over. The paper was like holding onto a hot coal, burning his hand until he gave in and brought it out and read it. Hamdover- she was supposedly in Hamdover right now. Cailen didn't know if he was going mad, out his mind, freaking the hell out or if he was just feeling lonely and hoping that somehow, something will change with this. He doesn’t know if this will fix everything that had gone wrong in his life until now. But the next thing he knew, he was turning down a street that he knew would eventually lead him to a bus station.
