James didn't expect that trying to talk to Japanese people can be action-packed. They are already using guns while they only have swords. As much as he wants to act courageous and all, he just can't let them get him. He has to think about Chloe and his mom.
What will happen if he dies while on Joseon? Aside from Chloe's threat to kill him again, how can they go back to their timeline? He has to get out of this mess before he meets his impending doom. James hides from the bushes and accidentally bumps at someone.
Wait a minute, he's one of the Japanese people! But why is he hiding in the bushes in the middle of the fight as well? James didn't know if he would draw his sword or just run. He can't let this guy kill him just like that. But he looks more harmless than the others.
"Your Highness, I'm sorry for this mess! My people just like to fight before talking." He apologized to him for what's happening.
"How can we stop them? I don't want my soldiers to die before even talking peace to you!' James asks the guy who looks the same age as him.
All we can do is wait for them to stop fighting. Don't worry, my people will not kill any of your soldiers. We only do intimidation first before talking." He informed him.
"That sounds good enough for me. I'm Yung Ho by the way!" James introduces himself as the king and offers his hand to him.
"My name is Noya Yoshi! It's a pleasure to meet the new king of Hanyang!" He said and shook his hand.
James immediately noticed his resemblance to his band member, Nagasaki Yoko. It looks like his life at Hanyang is getting more and more interesting. Although he looks slightly different because of the military outfit. But he is definitely Yoko's ancestor because of his looks.
It seems like a lot of people he knows from where he came from seem to have counterparts in this universe. Thankfully, he saw a familiar face while in the middle of this battle. He didn't know what would happen to him if Yoshi didn't show up.
"I'm the future of the emperor of Japan. I guess we have the same position in our countries." Yoshi informed him.
"You're Korean is good! How did you learn our language?" James asks.
"I like your language and I was planning to visit here in a more peaceful manner. But my father decided to invade it." He replied.
"That's a bad idea! I'm afraid we can't let you do that. We have to protect our country." James told him.
"I know, but I just have to convince my father not to include this place. It's not going to look good afterward." Yoshi responded.
"Well, I guess we have to talk to the emperor then!" James concluded.
"My father is very close-minded. He will not listen to anyone. But when I become the emperor, I can skip this place." Yoshi said.
"When are you becoming emperor?" He asks, wondering if he can wait until then.
"Once my father steps foot in Joseon, he will pass the throne to me. Until then, you have to bear with us." Yoshi informed him.
"Let's just hope that Joseon will not be a wasteland before that happens." He replied.
"You speak oddly but somehow, I can still understand you," Yoshi told him.
James almost forgot that he is still in Joseon. It's Yoshi's fault because he looks the same as his friend Yoko. But he decided to just go back to his acting. He doesn't want people around here to think that he is not the real king. That might cost him his life if they find out.
"I think that's enough for now. I'm going to gather my soldiers now. Meet me here after a week. That will be the day my father will be here." Yoshi told him.
"Alright, I will do that, new friend." James hopes that he will keep his word.
Yoshi smiled widely at him and went into the middle of the battle. He's not afraid to get hurt from where we are standing now. He gathered his soldiers and they left the Hanyang soldiers. Most of them are hurt but nothing serious.
It looks like he's telling the truth. They were just intimidating his people earlier. That means that there is hope that he will also keep his word. James hoped that Yoshi would be the emperor soon like his father promised. That way, Joseon will be safe again.
"Your Highness, thank God! You're alright! Forgive me, I wasn't able to stay by your side." One of the soldiers found him.
"I'm alright, just inform the other soldiers that we're staying in our camp nearby. I have to face their emperor in seven days." James told the soldier.
They can just go back to Hanyang without any good news yet. Although he already misses Chloe, he had a role to play around here. Maybe it's one of the reasons why they ended up around here. He needs to be the king while he's here. His queen is safe in Hanyang.
James rides his horse and leads his army to their camp. He thought before that the king had his horsemen. But now that he's back in the era, he realized that the king's role is much more dangerous. He needs to lead his army and fight with them.
Now he misses practicing dance moves and songs like he used to do. He wondered if the real king replaced him in Seoul. Maybe he's now in rehearsals while he is in the middle of a war. But it's not easy to go back yet because that would mean that he cannot be with Chloe anymore.
Even if he finds a way for them to go back now, he would keep it from her. He doesn't know when it started but he seems to like his queen very much. Everything will change once they go back to Seoul. She might not like the idea of him being with a rockstar in the present time.
