Chloe suddenly collapses on the ground. She was just about to go back to her chamber. James immediately ran to her but noticed a bright light engulfing them both. He also loses his consciousness and decides to just let it take him.
When Chloe woke up, she felt confused. She's still wearing the hanbok she chose earlier this morning. But it's about to get dark soon. Then she saw James was still unconscious beside her. What happened to both of them?
She remembers feeling dizzy before she passes out. But why is James also unconscious beside her? She noticed that they are not in the garden anymore. That's when she saw a man running towards her with a worried look on his face.
"Miss, are you alright? I'm sorry, I didn't see you! You just suddenly crossed the road." The man explained and that's when James wakes up.
"What happened?" James asked.
The driver repeated his explanation to him. That's when they both notice that the man is wearing modern clothes. There's a truck nearby that was supposed to hit them. It means that they are back to the present time! They look at each other when they both realize what's going on.
"How are you wearing hanbok now? Nah, I guess I was just seeing things earlier. Are you sure you're both okay?' The driver asked in a confused tone.
"Yes, sir! We're fine. Thank you!" Chloe told him.
The man looked confused but decided to go back to his truck. He almost killed them but the woman is still thanking him! That's weird but he decided to just forget about it. When the man is gone, Chloe turns to James who looks deep in thought.
"We're back!" Chloe has to say it.
"Yes, it seems like it. What are you planning to do now?" James asked.
"I think we have to go home first!" She replied and touched her face.
"You're still beautiful!" James told her.
"I'm back to being 40!" She sighs.
"Let me walk you home. I have to go back to my apartment after." He suggested.
They started walking in silence. Chloe didn't know what to say. While James seems to be thinking about a lot of things. During the Joseon dynasty, they were married. But they're strangers during the present day. She's not expecting him to continue their marriage now that they're back.
Chloe thinks that the princess ended up in a truck accident. That's the reason they are back in their time. At least everything will go back to normal. She will live her lonely life as usual. A woman without a family she can call her own. She used to be fine with it until she ended up with James.
"This is it! I guess we should live our lives separately now. Thank you for everything, James!" Chloe told him when they reached her home.
"Is that what you want? We're married, you know." James reminded her.
"Sure, we're married back in Hanyang but not in Seoul. You should get going, your friends may be waiting for you." She replied.
"Fine. But I'll be back to visit you. We still have unfinished business." He smiles at her before leaving the place.
Chloe stays to see James go until she can no longer see him. That moment, tears flowed into her eyes all of a sudden. Why does she feel sad? He promised to go back for her. But she knows what she must do. She has to leave Korea now and go back to the Philippines.
They are never meant to be from the start. She was happy that they were able to spend some time together. Even when it was from another time. At least she knows how it feels to be loved. But it's all over now and their marriage is not valid at present. She has to let him go!
"Chloe! Why are you wearing hanbok? You're weird!" Jenny called to her.
"Hi, Jenny! I have to go up and have some rest now. I'm very tired!" Chloe informed her and smiled at her.
She was not lying when she told Jenny she's tired. Maybe it's the aftermath of staying in the past. Or maybe because she's old again. She's only 40 but maybe everything she did from Joseon piled up. That's why she lay down to bed the moment she entered her place.
It was unexpected and they were not ready to be here. But she thought that it's about time they go back. After all, she almost falls for Prince Moon as well. James brought her back to reality and she realized that she can't be with him either. But at least she experienced young love.
That's when she decided to go back to the Philippines. It's been years since she went to Korea. She should handle the business of her boss there as planned. It will just be torturous to stay here. She can't see James anymore and let him live his life.
He's still young and he can forget what happened to them before. James can still make his dreams come true. She's not planning to ruin him. He's a rockstar while she's an ordinary woman. Not to mention, she's too old for him. There's no way they can proceed with their relationship.
But why did she feel so sad just thinking about it? This is not her first heartbreak but it still feels bad. She has to stay strong for James. If she loses it, things might go out of hand. That's why she has to leave the country. If she doesn't, James will find her easily and she will fall for him further.
Chloe drifted off to sleep without changing into her regular clothes. She can just sleep with the hanbok for the last time. When tomorrow comes, she has to forget everything that happened in Hanyang. She will go back to her country and live alone forever. It will be better for her to do that as soon as possible.
