Eros
I was staring at the clear blue sky while sitting at the edge of the roof of the biggest building in the city.
"What a beautiful but a cruel world." I smirked as I shook my head in disbelief.
"They're already looking for you." I was distracted by the voice coming from behind me.
"I'll follow," I said before turning back to the beautiful view below the large building of the city.
I felt him leave so I stood up already as I fluttered my wings before flying back to heaven.
"Eros," my dear father called to me as soon as I entered his throne within his enormous golden kingdom.
Here are the other angels except for my brother who seems to have left the kingdom again without asking father's permission.
"Is my mission to the couple who almost died in the accident over?" I asked.
The father nodded in agreement with what I just said.
"I called you because of a mission that your brother didn't do well," he approached the smoking well before he motioned for me to come closer.
Without hesitation I approached him, at the same time as I was already closed to him, he was pointing to the well that was now shining and then the image of a simple but a very beautiful woman appeared from it.
I don't know but it seems like I feel something else as I look at her gentle face.
And I don't like this kind of feeling.
"She is Ynnah Francine Seung, a sick woman. Not only that, her life is also in danger at the hands of her boyfriend. The family of the two had a misunderstanding, only because of business matters, so they planned to kidnap the girl and make her a bait to get the Seung's wealth. " He explained before turning in my direction. While I could not take my eyes off the simplicity of her beauty. "I want you to be this girl's guardian angel as a replacement, because your brother doesn't seem to have any plans to play his role. So instead of waiting for him, you are the one who will do it."
I took a deep breath before I bowed down my head to the father.
"You can count on it, dear father."
"But don't forget our policy. It's forbidden to love a mortal. Is that clear, Eros?" his words are full of authority, which I nodded in agreement.
"I understand, dear father."
"I have my full trust in you, Eros."
"You can count on it."
After that conversation I immediately flew out of the golden kingdom of the Dear Father to descend again to earth to begin my new mission.
A mission which I wanted to end sooner or later.
The moment I came down to earth, I began to search for the girl whom I would guard and protect from evil. I didn't have a hard time finding her because of the help of other Guardian angels like me who are scattered around the world to guard and protect every person assigned to them.
It is not difficult to guard and protect the maiden assigned to me. She's not that often went out of the house, except when her boyfriend invited her on a date. The boy's parents have not yet taken any action to kidnap and hurt the girl. They seem to think more carefully about their plans in order to carry them out properly.
In the few months I watched the girl, I immediately learned a lot about what kind of woman she was. She is not like other girls I meet who do a lot of things to their bodies to make them look pretty or pleasant. She is too simple compared to others. And even though she was so simple to look at, it was still inevitable that her unique beauty would appear.
And I don't know why every time they go out with her boyfriend to date I have a negative feeling inside of me that I don't usually feel in other mortals I meet.
There seems to be something else in my angelic nature that I can't explain.
"You're in love with her," said Ajal who was by my side while looking down at the huge building where I always laying down during my rest.
Ajal is one of the missionary angels. He is one of the messengers served God's people at different times and had different purposes. They had vastly diverse missions, each corresponding to their very identity and being.
"What are you talking about. No Guardian angel can be in love with his mission especially when he loves a mortal. It's unlikely that thing will happen." I denied that he laughed out loud.
"That thing isn't vague, Eros. I've known an angel before who fell in love with a mortal."
I looked at him as if I had suddenly become anxious to know who and how he had survived the father's trial and punishments. What happened to their love affair with that human.
"I'm sure you're interested in knowing that thing, aren't you?" Ajal said mockingly but become serious after seconds. "Their love didn't win. They don't live happily ever after."
Ajal said sadly. And apparently, there was some regret, frustration and pain I felt at what I found out.
"What happened to them?" I unconsciously asked.
He put his arm around my shoulder before he speak.
"That angel lost his wings. His wings got cut off. He was rejected and thrown into this world as his punishment for disobeying the father. And until now we still have no idea of what happened to him after that painful incident. If he had been mortal. And nope, I really don't know what happened after those heartbreaking scenes. Only the father knows everything. "
I took a deep breath as I remove his arm around my shoulder and lean on the railings as I crossed my both arms at the front of my chest.
"Why is it that we are not allowed to love mortals?" I asked him afterwards.
"We are angles. We, as a holy angels are known to be obedient to the father's commands without question. And falling in love with a human would mean that we are no longer only father's servant and we don't serve only father anymore." He said as he tapped my shoulder before he stood up. "So, as much as possible, don't fall in love with a human."
That was his last words before he flew away.
