The air in the club smells thick that I can't help but notice the drastic difference with the air outside.
We are moving into the large place that is filled with so many people. Well, not too many, considering the fact that the club can contain more than two hundred people, but we're just around a quarter of that.
"Do you drink?" Paulina ask me. "No, don't answer that one, you are going to learn how to drink even if you don't drink."
"I drink Soju at home when I use to stay with my brother."
"Not soju. I mean the others, you know," she giggles excitedly. "I'm going to introduce you to what I call the double blast. Come with me to the bar table."
Paulina drags me along while I follow after her, my eyes looking around the faces of so many cute guys. It's because of Paulina that I have the luxury to come to a place like this.
When the music comes on, I recognize the song, Hello by Shannon and I feel the urge to dance to it. But it's uncomfortable, I feel like people are watching me and they're going judge my dance.
Imagine a girl who use to be a library keeper dancing in a club. Some people might even throw their cups at my face.
I feel discouraged.
As I follow her to the table, Paulina pulls up a chair but she freezes, looking at somewhere behind my back.
I turn my head to see what she's looking at, and my eyes narrows down to three foreign guys coming our way. The one in the middle is smirking and looking at Paulina. I don't know what's happening, but they look like gangsters.
"My goodness, Hana we have to leave this place now!" Paulina's hand is trembling as she catch my hand and start pulling me and weaving her way in between so many people.
I don't know why we're running but I just followed because I assume she's running away from the guys.
My suspicions are confirmed when I hear the voice behind us yelling out, "catch her!" probably telling his minions to catch Paulina.
Soon, we're outside the club and Paulina is trying to locate the car, but the driver is no more at the spot where he parked earlier.
"Who are they?" I ask, panting and throwing my eyes around, searching for the car.
"My crazy high school bully. He doesn't want to leave me alone even after graduation." She replies, and all of a sudden, the guys emerge out of the club.
They continue to chase us.
Again, we take to our heels, running into the street and weaving between buildings. Paulina doesn't even have shoes anymore, and I notice that I'm slowing us down because of my high heels.
Paulina suddenly stops and I almost clash into her and fall down if I hadn't use the wall in the corner as my support.
I look ahead of us and behind us, but there's no other way out as the guys have separated and trapped us in the middle.
"Rocco, don't come near me!" Paulina yells at the one standing behind us. "I'll spit on you if you do." She shifts back, shaking with fear.
Is that even a threat?
I shift close to Paulina and take her hand in mine, holding her tight to give her some courage. She's so afraid of them.
"Excuse me, why are you following us?" I ask, and the two guys in front of us start cackling with laughter like crazy junkies. They don't look like the type to be intimidated by a girl.
The one behind us who Paulina called Rocco, has tattoos all over his neck and chin. He looks like the youngest among the three but also seems to be the most dangerous of the three, since by now I'm sure he's their boss.
"Pau, come here, I just want to talk, why are you running away, come on babe." Seeing him stepping closer, I step in front of Paulina and hide her behind my back to face the bully.
"Stop right there!" I yell, giving him my warning.
He throws a nasty look at me. "You fucking bitch. Are you her lover or what?"
Aish! Did he just cuss at me?
"Ya, you want to die?" I take off my high heels and push it aside, ready to attack anyone of them that dare come close to us. They don't take me serious because I look like a weak girl to them.
We switch sides with Paulina and turn on our sides with our backs against each other.
One of the two guys I'm facing, abruptly come forward about to grab me by my hair, but I twist his arm around and he groans loudly. I hit him and try to bite him but he push me off.
The other one attacks me with a blow that catches me off guard. My stomach twist due to the impact of the blow and I find myself vomiting out on the ground. I turn my head and see Rocco holding Paulina down, his knees are pressing against both her legs.
He goes down and kiss Paulina on her lips, she slaps him!
"Ouch! Is that all you can do?" He laughs, "I'm so disappointed babe."
I hold my stomach and I'm about to crawl up to help Paulina but I feel my hair getting pulled behind me as the guys laugh and twist me around. One holds down my legs and the other one is still painfully tugging at my hair.
"Leave me alone!" I spit into his face. "I will kill you!"
"She's such a fierce little one," he laughs at my face, "Rocco, can I have this one for myself? She's cute."
"Do what you want with her."
I hear Paulina breathing hard and cursing at Rocco and I don't know what he's doing to her because I can't see anymore. I myself is trying hard to fight but my energy is gone.
"Where is that brother of yours now, Pau? I guess no one will come to save you today." I hear Rocco saying.
"You're mistaken, asshole!" Someone responds. "Her brother is here. And I'm going to beat all of you to a pulp!"
The guys quickly release me and that's when I see Paulina's brother, Carlo standing not so far away from us. His hands are balled into fists as his eyes narrow down at his sister.
