I hadn't known that Father made such a promise to Hana's Father; a promise to keep his daughter safe if anything happens to him. If I had known that Father would be willing to help and protect Hana, I would've told him who she is as soon as I found out. Maybe we would not have been in the Alfonso's prison for two days.
I'm glad that everything turned out well anyway. I don't care that Father is ignoring me, I'm just grateful that he has no intentions to hurt my girl or to make me stay away from her. I have a feeling he came to rescue us only because he found out who's daughter Hana is.
Actually before I left home for the rescue mission, I gave the secret code to Chang so that Tae Ho will not find it in my room. Chang gave the flash to Father and together, they looked up the files and content. Because Kai and Hana's information are also on the flash, Father must've read about them and realized who they are.
Hana is sitting right beside me on the couch in the Alfonso's living room. Father, Marco and Sergio are having a discussion about signing a peace treaty. That Consigliere, Haru seems to be in support of the treaty which will bring an end to the long term conflict and sour relationship between our families.
Father is willing to give them what they want; the secret code. But I know our father. He must have erased all of his records and Marco's records from the flash drive. He must've made a secret copy of the Alfonso's crime records as well as that of all those not in harmony with him just to make sure he will have the upper hand in the future.
"There's one more thing I'd like to request from you president Matteo Dante." Sergio says to my father as he shows him a picture from his phone. "This is Alessandro Federico. I heard your men have captured him yesterday. Send him to me. I need to punish him for betraying me and for causing me a lot of trouble."
"I cannot send him to you yet." It's Marco who replies. "He was about to fled the country when I captured him so he can't be part of our deal."
"Why not?" Sergio inquires.
"Because stole Father's gold." Marco says, looking upset. "I must recover what we lost and punish him before I send his remains back to you."
I don't see what's funny but Sergio, the shit head burst out into a fit of laughter, while Marco is clenching his fist at such disrespectful behavior. I know he's struggling to contain his anger and not punch Sergio in the face.
What surprises me is that Father doesn't even seem bothered by Sergio's rudeness. He's too busy scribbling his signatures on the papers.
"President Matteo, one of your sons conspired with Alessandro to steal your gold." Haru breaks his silence from where he's been sitting and eying Hana.
Father's attention immediately shifts to him with a frown. "What are you talking about, Consigliere?"
"I'm letting you know that Alessandro planned the heist together with your son Tae Ho."
"That is impossible. Tae Ho will never betray me."
"I also know that Jin is aware of his brother's betrayal but he kept it to himself. Why don't you ask him?" Haru points an accusing finger at me, pushing Father and Marco's attention on me.
"Jin, is that true?"
I nod. "Yes Father."
"And why did you concealed such important information from me?"
"Would you have believed me?" I seethe inwardly, clenching my fist.
Hana's hand falls on mine, as if she's telling me to calm down.
Father glares at me in silence.
I sigh. "Let's just go home Father. The sooner we return the better chances we have at finding where Luca is keeping the gold. We must hurry before Luca tries anything stupid again."
Father seems really disappointed and angry as he seal the peace deal with Sergio. After he's done, they shake hands and he stands up to leave.
"I hope you understand that Hana and Kai are now part of my family. None of your men shall try to harm them." Father says as a final warning as Sergio nods in understanding.
We left the house. We're about to get into our car when I notice Haru and Paulina following us outside. Hana notices them too so she stops. Paulina and Hana hug, while Haru tries to maintain his distance. Better for him. I don't mind punching his face if he tries hugging my girl.
"Hana ya, I know you love him but if he doesn't treat you right or if you ever change your mind about choosing him, you know where to find me." Haru winks at Hana and I throw him a glare. Hana sees my reaction, nods at Haru respectfully and then continues to chat with Paulina.
After they said goodbye, I snake my arm around Hana's back, pulling her close to my body. Haru watch with a frown on his face as I guide my girl to the car and open the door for her.
"Get in. Don't look at that stalker." I whisper, and Hana obeys me. She refuses to look at Haru as she enters the car.
Father and Marco are in the second car. They brought a convoy of seven cars to the Alfonso's mansion. Thankfully, Kai will also be riding in another car so no one else is in our car, only the driver who's focusing on doing his job.
"Will you go out with me for dinner tonight?" I ask Hana who's glancing out the window in silence.
"Yes I will go to dinner with you but not today Master." She smiles for a second, then frowns at me. "Actually no. I won't go to dinner with you until you punish Peter and Doctor Han for what they did to Mira. And I want you to save Areum."
"Areum is safe. Marco already saved her."
"Oh. Really? Are you sure?"
"Of course he did, Marco wouldn't lie about that. I'll also let you punish Peter and Doctor Han by yourself. I'll give you a gun and you'll practice how to kill. Starting with them."
"What?" Her eyes are wide open. "But I don't want anyone dead. I didn't say I want to kill them."
"You can shoot their balls then. You don't have to kill them."
She chuckles and shakes her head. "You are teasing me, Master Jin."
"I'm not. I'm serious." I smile and rest my head on her lap. "Wake me up when we reach home."
I hear her mumbles okay. Then her hands moves into my hair, gently gliding over my scalp like she's giving me a massage. I can't wait to get home and start cuddling with her.
