Chapter 11. Sick

A middle-aged man lay weakly on a hospital bed. He missed his daughter, really missed him. Someone suddenly came into the room with various kinds of food. That's not what he wanted, he just wanted his beloved daughter to hug him even if only once.
"Dad, Aditya promises to do everything. You don't have to think about things you don't need to think about, okay? Sit down, Dad, you need to eat," said Aditya with a smile.
"Three days ago, you said the same thing. You promised to get Salsa here, in fact he didn't come at all. What's with the real Salsa?" asked the father while being helped sit by Aditya.
"Salsa is said to be good, maybe she is busy with college. I know that my father's favorite son wants to be a doctor," Aditya explained while feeding the chicken porridge he had blown.
"You're right Aditya, but at least take the time to visit dad here. I really miss Salsa," replied the father with a sad face.
"Akh, dad. Don't be like that, Aditya promises that tomorrow Salsa will be here. This is Aditya's promise to Dad," Aditya said with certainty.
The father could only nod. He misses Nia, his ex-wife, remembering when Nia was still a student.
Flash back
Monday. It's been a tiring day, isn't it? The start of the week should be done without the slightest bit of carelessness. Just a moment! Try to underline the word without the slightest carelessness, I don't know.
Thirty minutes had passed. I have arrived at the campus of Gunadarma University, which is useful and has thousands of dharma foundations. I stepped into the classroom, more specifically the room. Studying medicine is not an easy thing for me personally. Luckily I got a scholarship and earned the nickname "top 10 student." It is not easy to compete from thousands of students/students to get the title.
"Kania, you were called by that handsome new lecturer, he said he wanted to ask about your grades," said Siska, a classmate.
I nodded and started towards the new lecturer's room. "Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, assalamualaikum, sir."
There was an answer.
"Waalaikumsalam, Kania Putri Ramadhani? Come in."
How did he know? Why should I ignore it? He's a lecturer, must be great and cool.
Slowly open the door. It looks like a lecturer is busy with his laptop. Slowly the lecturer turned around, surprised of course. He's the men I bumped into yesterday. Astagfirullah, how could I be careless at that time.
"You? Ah sloppy bastard." Those were the words of the two after answering the greeting and letting me in.
"I'm not careless, sir, it's just that I often don't focus," I said, not accepting being called careless.
"Not focused? That's how you want to meet your girlfriend huh?"
What?! Boyfriend? Farhan? I rolled my eyes.
"Who do you mean? Farhan? He's my best friend, sir, just a friend," I said with a little extra high pitch, oops.
"Whatever, I don't care, you're the son of Mr. Akbar, right?"
I turned to the strange professor. How else did he know my father's name, when he just moved to this campus?
"How do you know about my father's name?"
I also don't want to lose to that strange lecturer, if only he can be formal by using the word "I" when speaking, so can I.
He was a little surprised, slightly raised his eyebrows and then went back to playing his laptop. Oh that sucks. What did he really want to talk about? I'm tired of just standing there staring at his every move.
"Please, sit." That's the word I've been waiting for. Why only now? After ten minutes I stood up, not to mention that since thirty minutes of walking until now I haven't rested my waist yet.
The strange lecturer was surprised because I immediately sat down. As if he knew, he fetched water for me.
"Drink, I know you've been walking for about thirty minutes llamany."
I looked back at his flat face, handsome from where? It's annoying and weird to be there. I had time to istighfar in my heart. How can I vilify the lecturer in this heart, it's not good.
"No sir, I'm not thirsty."
"I said drink, I mean drink!"
What? It turns out that apart from being annoying and weird, he is also a pushy lecturer! Ah, I want to scream in front of him. I immediately followed his orders. Especially? Yes drink.
"Sir, fifteen minutes have passed. Actually, what do you want to ask about?" I reminded the lecturer who was flat so I was reluctant to smile even for a second.
"You Kania Putri Ramadhani, the son of Mr. Akbar and Mrs. Naila, have a twin sister named Rania Ratu Ramadhani. But unfortunately, eight years ago, your father and twin sister died in the lake. Right?"
I nodded, confirming what he said.
"And until now your mother still thinks Kania is the one who died instead of Rania, right?"
I nodded again. Wait, how did he know about all this? Who knows.
"And in one month your twentieth birthday. Right?"
Wait! It's enough! How can this weird, obnoxious and flat-out lecturer know everything? Is he a fortune teller?
"Sir, what do you really want to say? I hope you understand, soon the lecturer will enter my room, sir."
"Okay, you can go back to the room. I'll be home tonight. Wear beautiful clothes, no need to dress up you are already beautiful like this."
"What?!"
"Don't act like you're surprised. You should be grateful for having dinner with me at my house."
I can only stare at the lecturer with a flat gaze, then leave without saying hello. Ah, I'm already too angry with him.
"Waalaikumsalam."
I still had time to hear his greeting even though I didn't say hello. I told you no, he's a weird and annoying lecturer.
****
I entered the room. Surprised, the lecturer who taught today was him? What?! Why did he get there first? Wasn't I the first to come here?
"Assalamualaikum, Kania." The lecturer greeted him with a smile. What?! Smiling, I know he's on a mission to make other students like him. Oh what's wrong with me?
"Waalaikumsalam, sir."
I answered his greeting with a slight smile, just a little.
"Please come in, or you can just leave."
Ah, it's true he was just pretending to be good then now? He turned a hundred and eighty degrees.
I immediately entered, then sat on a chair, began to prepare books and other stationery.
The fierce lecturer began to explain about medical science, while I continued to listen and pay close attention. Every now and then my hands start to jot down important things. I don't know why and why my mind crossed about Farhan. Thinking of how to apologize to him. Then remember the beautiful memories of me and Farhan when we were little.
"Kania Putri Ramadhani Akbar! I've said your name three times! But you're still busy with your thoughts?! I know you're thinking about your boyfriend, right?! Huh?! Get out of here! Go!"
I was surprised, very surprised in fact. I was so scared that I couldn't even look at him.
"I said get out!"
"But, sir."
Flashback off!
"Father? Why? Why are you smiling?" asked Aditya then.
"It is nothing."
