Chapter 108: The Aliens

"Don't make it sound like you don't kill like this, Alicia. I really wanted to cut him into pieces, but no thanks, I don't want to cover my hands with blood," I said.
"Is your arm okay?" She asked in a worried tone of voice.
"Yeah, there's nothing to be worried about. I can still fight even with one arm," I said sarcastically.
"It seems like you won't be able to use that for a while," she replied.
"Can't you use healing magic?" I asked.
"No, I can't. There's no way to heal a bone unless you're an expert healer," she said.
"That's not fair. You have almost killed me many times, yet you could easily heal my wounds. Why not now?" I asked.
"A flesh is different from a bone, Kaila. I'm not an expert bone-healer like you think."
"Okay, fine. But don't force me to fight strong enemies. You didn't even help me," I said.
"You don't have to be disgruntled. I just want to see how much you've grown." She opened the small bottle and added the man's soul to her collection.
"Are you done?" I asked.
"Yeah, but don't worry. We're not in a hurry. You have to take some time to heal that broken arm of yours," she said.
"Are you sure you want to slow down? Aren't our enemies strong? We should kill them first before they kill us."
"What's more important here is your health, Kaila. You can't fight them with your broken bones. This is for the best. Don't you want it? You can have a rest."
"And just wait? We're not in the same position, Alicia. I want to be free as soon as possible," I said.
"Don't say that. We're in the same boat here. I have to gather 100 souls quick, and you want to be free. But I'm telling you, sometimes stepping back is the right choice."
"Okay, fine," I said, frustrated. I don't know why I and Alicia always have different views and beliefs. I tried to understand her. People don't always agree with each other, and misunderstandings can occur anytime.
And so, we left the scene. Alicia brought me back to his little cottage in the mountain to relax. The air was fresh, unlike in the city. Just by looking at the trees and listening to the chirping ofs, I calmed down.
"Want to have some coffee?" Alicia asked.
"Yeah," I said.
Alicia disappeared into the kitchen. I stayed there on the porch, watching a golden sunset. It reminded me that sometimes endings could be beautiful too.
"Here's your coffee, ma'am." Alicia handed me a mug of black coffee. "Do you know where coffee came from?"
"What kind of question is that?" I chuckled. "Are you running out of things to talk about now?"
"Not really. I just want to know. You came from a wealthy family and were treated like a princess; your parents mustn't have exposed you to such things," she said.
"Maybe you're right, at some point, but I understand that what they were doing was for me. They worked hard every day to give me a good life, a life that I didn't even want."
"You know what? There will always be things in this world that we can't get no matter how hard we work, no matter how many mountains we climb, things that aren't meant to be ours."
"Yeah, and that makes it unfair. Some people can get whatever they want without working, while others work so hard but don't even get anything. I guess the lesson here isn't just that; it's about being grateful for whatever you have. Don't compare yourself and your journey with someone else because everyone has their own path to take," I said.
"Now that's a deep philosophy." Alicia smiled. "Look, what is that thing?" She pointed at the flying thing in the sky.
"That's not an airplane. It couldn't be..."
"It couldn't be what?" She asked.
"Unidentified flying objects (UFOs). This couldn't be happening. Aliens couldn't be real!"
Suddenly, the thing flew towards us and shot a laser-like thing. I dodged, but my coffee was spilled, and Alicia's beloved cottage was destroyed. It was no time to worry about my coffee. Those aliens were attacking us.
"Alicia, can you help me?" I asked.
"With what?" she replied.
"I want to get inside that thing. I want to see if aliens really exist," I said.
"Are you out of your mind?" She asked. "Your arm isn't even fully healed yet."
"Just do it," I insisted.
"Okay, but promise me you'll come back alive."
"You know, I can't promise you that."
Alicia used her teleportation magic and brought us inside the UFO. It was unbelievably large, though it looked like a tiny thing from a distance.
"Can you make me invisible?" I asked.
"Thirty minutes. We'll have to go within that time, or something really bad will happen," she said.
I slowly walked around. There were green creatures, the typical aliens found in books and movies. I didn't expect them to be real. They were talking in a language I couldn't understand. There was advanced equipment and robots too. I'm still wondering why they were here. Were they planning to invade Earth?
I have read stories about alien invasion before. How those green creatures attacked Earth, enslaved the humans, made fun of them, impregnated the women, and even fucked men. They destroyed all the buildings to form new, more advanced ones. Their arrival led to the distinction of the human species.
Suddenly, a security alert rang. Their system must have detected an intruder, and that intruder was me. They started firing in my direction. I didn't expect that Alicia's concealment skills weren't effective at all.
"Let's get out of here." I broke through the window and jumped. It was so high. I felt like falling from the skies. The wind against my face as I screamed. "I'm falling!"
Fortunately, Alicia came to my rescue. She used teleportation magic to land me safely. The aliens had stopped attacking, and their aircraft also disappeared. They must be shocked to find an intruder and wonder what kind of machine I used to become invisible.
"I hope it was enough to keep them away for now. I don't want our world to be invaded," I said.
"You've just saved the world, but not my poor little cottage," Alicia replied.
"I think that's a sign for you to find a new place to stay, and I suggest you choose a conducive one."
"Seems like your arm is fine now. Let's go?"
"Um!" I responded.
