It was Sunday and I was finally ready to move to my new place. I packed everything I needed the night before and the moving company had taken them all to the new place. I had ordered for kitchen appliances a few weeks back and those have also being delivered to the new place and even though my mum tried to emotionally blackmail me into not leaving,I finally did.
I got a bungalow: a three bedroom bungalow.I didn't want to be extravagant and I also made sure the house was as far from the Lancaster mansion as possible. After the movers finally dropped everything in the new place.I was alone. Derek,Victor,John and Anna would be here soon to help me move,so I started arranging little by little.I wasn't sure if I wanted to see the boys again,John was already enough and I already saw him almost everyday since we worked together but Victor and Derek I hadn't seen in a while,they were a lot to be around,but maybe Anna was right and I was the problem and not them. I heard my doorbell ring and I went to open the door,It was Anna and the boys.I put on the biggest smile I could manage.
"Hi guys" I said and opened the door for them to come in.They entered.
"You don't know how fucking hard it was to find this place" Derek said with a smile and hugged me.
"Just trying to get away from the fam" I replied and they all laughed.
"Totally understand, you're a free man now" Victor said as I hugged him as well.
"He has always being a free man" John imputed and I shook his hand. I don't like john
"Well" They all sat down
" We come bearing gifts" Anna chimed in and opened her bag to bring out three bottles of wine.
"One from each of us..truth is I bought the wine and the boys just took credit" Anna said eyeing them and I laughed and collected the drinks from her.
"Thank you,I appreciate the gift either way.I would offer you something but I don't really have anything to give"
" It's cool bro, we can go out for drinks later in the week" John stated and they all nodded.
"Okay ...you guys want a tour of the apartment?" I asked and they all agreed. I went to drop the wines in the cellar and then took them around the house. I was able to catch up with Victor and derek and I realized that I actually enjoyed their company. After doing absolutely nothing to help and just running around causing more mess and drinking two of the three wines they brought, they all finally left. And I was alone again.
I went back to getting my things together and arranging but now that I was alone. My mind was on one person...Dahlia I missed her. But there was no way to see her,since today was not a work day and since I had already decided that I was going to squash my feelings for her. So I decided to just put the house on my mind but decorating and arranging didn't solve anything,I decided to indulge again. I called her number. It took a while before she answered.
"Hello?" I said
"Michael?" She said and my heart skipped a beat,this was the first time she ever mentioned my name,it sounded nice hearing it from her. Nicer than hearing anyone else say it.
"How did you know it was me?" I asked and there was silence for a few seconds.
"I recognize your voice" She replied and I stupidly smiled.
" Do you need anything? I'm not obliged to work for you today,you know that." She added,it was obvious she was eager to end the call.
"I know.But I just moved into a new place and I need help with arranging,I can't do it alone" I replied hoping she would take the bait. She sighed.
"Would I be paid for working overtime?" She asked and I grinned.
" As much as you want" I replied.
"Send me the address"She answered and hung up.
After that I couldn't do anything,I just placed around the house waiting for her to arrive.
Dahlia.
I was having Sunday movie day with Jen and Jason when Michael called and even though I really didn't want to leave,he had said he would pay extra money and Jessica did say I should do everything he wanted without complain. So I decided to leave,it was difficult finding something to wear since I wasn't sure if I should still dress formal outside of work,then I realized I was literally panicking about dressing to go see Michael and I decided to just throw on something casual so I wore an oversized shirt,a jean short and my face cap. It was a bit difficult to find the place but I finally did and rang the doorbell,he opened the door at the first ring,I sort of swallowed when I saw him. He always looked so formal at work.But right now,with his rough hair and his shirt with one about two buttons lose,he looked Sexy. He also looked me over which made my heart knot, I forgot how attractive he was. He stared at my face cap for a while with something like shock in his expression,I wasn't sure why,but he finally looked at my face then smiled and stepped aside and I entered the house. It was marvelous. I wish I had enough money to get a place like this for myself,Jen would be on top of the world.
" You came" He said smiling brightly.
"Of course I came, you're the boss, what do you need help with? I asked hoping to finish everything and leave as soon as possible, Being alone with him in his house would be awkward.
"Huhm.....maybe help me arrange the kitchen utensils? "He suggested and I nodded
"Let me show you the way" He added and I followed him.
"Let me know if you need anything" He said and left. I heaved a sigh of relief as soon as he left,why was today so awkward? I looked around the kitchen thinking of how to arrange it,I didn't know how he wanted to place his things. So I just sort of recreated our own kitchen from home.Everything he had was new and nice,I loved cooking so just imagining cooking in his kitchen with all his nice appliances made me happy. I didn't know how long it took but I soon finished arranging his kitchen,the only things that remained were the condiments I wanted to put on the top shelf so I took a bottle of mustard and reached for the top shelf,I wasn't reaching so I stretched, but I still couldn't reach,I even got on my toes but nothing,I gave up and got down to my feet,I was about to go get Michael when I felt someone push up against me,I immediately tensed up,then he raised his hand and collected the mustard from me and placed it on the shelf. My heart started beating again. I slowly turned around and faced him. Our faces were only inches apart and I could literally smell him. He was staring at me and I couldn't quite make out the look on his face,he brought his face closer and I froze.
