I couldn't stop smiling after she left,we had basically spent half the day together,Dahlia made me feel so many emotions,emotions that I didn't even know I could feel,and it's crazier since I literally just met her,when she turns around I want to hug her,when I see her hand,I want to hold it,but I cannot because I don't deserve it. After careful thinking,I decided that I was going to serve her and her sister, and make sure they get every single thing they desire,so much that she will smile when she's talking about me the same way she smiles when she talks about Jason all while trying to squash my rapidly growing feelings. The next day after work,I got to work before Dahlia and used my spare key to open the door and when she came back I just told her that I had some work to do earlier that day,I was lying I was just trying to avoid her, when I finished the day's work,I have her a quick smile and then went into my car and just sat there for a long time thinking. I pondered for hours in my car until an idea struck me. I drove to jenny's highschool and waited in front of it until she came out,she started walking away from the entrance of the school and I walked towards her and stopped right by her,then I rolled down my car window.
" Jenny?" I called and she raised her eyebrows at me confused,then she reached for something in her bag, brought out a bottle and aimed it at me.
"You have 5 minutes to say something reasonable or I will pepper spray your ass"
" You don't remember me?" I asked
" You're that nosy guy that came with Lia the other day,what do you want?" She replied uninterested.
" I just wanted to say hi" I said giving her a warm smile
" Without telling Lia in advance? I literally don't know you." She replied eyeing me. I sighed.
" I got you some gifts" I replied pointing to the back seat. She trailed her eyes to where I was pointing and examined,her eyes widened.
" Is that the new iPhone?" She asked a bit excited.
" Huhm....yeah, it's for you,along with everything else"
" Why would you give me all these stuff? You literally don't know me and my weird sister only started working for you like a month ago or something" She asked eyebrows raised in suspicion.
" Wait...do you have a thing for Dahlia? Are you trying to bribe me so I'll put in a good word for you?" I mean she wasn't completely wrong.
" Huhm... yeah, that's exactly why"
" Well if that's why you brought me all these things then you're way off track..Lia doesn't like charity,so she will probably just not like you if you just buy her stuff like a weirdo"
"But I'm not buying her stuff...I'm buying you stuff"
" Same thing"
"What can I do that would make you happy then? Something I don't have to spend money to do?" I asked and she rolled her eyes
"Why are you trying so hard? You're rich right? You can get literally anyone else,what do you want with my sister" she asked glaring at me
" I think your sister is the most incredible woman on the planet" I replied immediately maintaining eye contact,there was about a minute of silence and then she looked away.
"Fucking simp." She muttered under her breath and I chuckled a bit
"Your sister allows you to curse?"I say jokingly and she eyed me.
"I'm not 12... I know what you can do, first, promise you're not a kidnapper?"
"Why would I need to kidnap kids?"I asked and she tilted her head in approval
"True" she replied and entered the car.
"Did you say something to Tasha's parents?" She asked immediately she sat down,I tried to act as confused as possible
"Who's Tasha?"
"The girl I pushed" She replied
"I didn't...why do you ask?"
"She's being acting weirdly nice,she apologized for all the mean things she and all her friends had being saying as well, it's crazy, maybe the fall set her brain up or something" She said and looked away. I smiled to myself. I did talk to Tasha's parents,After I found out that she was being bullied,I investigated Tasha's family and realized that we were actually doing business with them.All I did was threaten to not do business with them any longer and they promised to ask their daughter to be on her best behavior.I turned back to Jenny.
" So...what do you want me to do for you?" I asked feeling a lot more better.At least I was doing things that made Jenny's life better.
" It's simple,I have this assignment that I have to do but it's really hard to type it out since I don't have a laptop and going to the cafe is really just a pain, so...do you have a laptop?" She asked and I nodded and then picked up my bag from the back seat,opened it,took out the laptop and gave it to Jenny.
" And that's all?" I asked hoping she would ask for something else,this just didn't feel like enough. She nodded.
" Hmmn hmmn" She replied, I helped unlock the laptop and she got to work. We were there for almost two hours,she seemed like a really hardworking girl,Dahlia did a great job raising her. I smiled thinking about Dahlia. Every now and then Jenny would ask me to hand her sweets from the backseat. It was really refreshing.I finally felt good,when she was done,she sent the file to her own phone and then gave me back my laptop.
" Really? That's it?" I asked making sure she didn't want anything. She nodded with a smile.
"Yup,I'm pretty impressed that you stayed till I was done actually,you must really like Dahlia" she said and I smiled.
" You're a nerd aren't you?" I asked jokingly and she glared at me causing me to chuckle.
"I'm going to leave now,this was fun" She said and opened the car door.
" Do you want me to drive you home?" I asked and she shook her head in dissaproval.
" Nah,I'm good,thanks for your help,I'll put in really good word for you with Dahlia" She said finally and started walking away I looked back at the backseat full of gifts and smiled, I noticed the open box of chocolates and I took it,then ran after her and handed it to her,she squinted her eyes at me.
"So it doesn't go to waste" I said and she collected it.
"Thanks,who are you going to give the rest of the gifts to?" She asked.
"I'll figure it out" I replied with a smile and she nodded,then left.
I returned to my car and drove away.
