After I finished giving Gian a food, he walked while holding his plastic plate and went to the living room, he placed his plastic plate on the table and sat next to Kris, Lucy's son, a 10 years old boy and he and Gian really get along well.
Kris is Lucy's only child and they couldn't follow him a sibling because she and her husband separated, as far as I know it was because of a third party so Lucy asked to get a divorce. Now their son, Kris, will take turns going to their house, that is what they agreed upon as an ex-couple. Complicated, right?
I'm also worried sometimes for Kris that their set-up might later cause a problem with his mental health, right?
"Help yourselves, ladies and eat a lot. Lia you should take care of Diane and Gill." Aunt said, after we finished singing, uncle also came out of their house, they had other guests, his cousins.
"Yes, ma. You should eat, too." Lia said with a smile to Diane and me but she immediately stood up because her cellphone rang.
"Work call, I'll just answer this one. Stuff yourselves with food, okay?" She said and left us to answer her call.
We just covered the food she left behind with a paper plate cause flies might land on it. Diane and I were left here at their table and I couldn't talk, maybe she's used to not talking much when eating at their house, so I didn't insist on talking to her anymore and just focused my own food.
Lucy is in the living room with Kris and Gian while Lina who I don't know where she went. She were just walking around a while ago, maybe she were already with uncle outside with other guests.
"Gill!"
"Aunt!"
Lucy and Kris called me at the same time so I turned my gaze to their place, I could see the worry on Lucy's face and when I saw where she was looking I immediately stood up and hastily run towards them to the living room.
"Oh my, God! Gian?!"
Gian was lying on their carpet and holding his neck while his eyes were wide open and his small mouth was open as if he was struggling to breathe.
"Baby Marc! No! What happened?!" There is a trace of fear and concern in Diane's voice.
I started to panic and couldn't stop crying at the sight of Gian now and of the thing that immediately came to my mind. It's my fault no matter what happens to Gian, I've become complacent that someone else who knows Gian is watching over and with him.
"Please, call an ambulance." I ordered them and I tears fell off my cheek as I approached Gian. "Baby... My baby..." Even though my vision was getting blurry because of the tears forming in my eyes, I still noticed how much my hands were shaking as I slowly tried to reach them to Gian.
"Gi..."
"Hahahahaha got you!" Gian suddenly laugh and surprised us.
He straightened up from lying down earlier and his previous appearance of not being able to breathe is now very energetic.
What happened?
I didn't react right away, just now we saw Gian's look almost passed out because he couldn't breathe and now we see him laughing as if nothing happened.
"Got you, mama!" He repeated what he said earlier and hit my leg softly.
"Shit!" I let out a soft exclamation and covered my face, I couldn't stop myself from all the tears that had accumulated in my eyes kept falling.
"Gian, are you okay?" I heard Kris ask Gian, it was obvious in his voice that he was also worried.
"You crazy kid! Were you just fooling us?" Lucy exclaimed, I heard Gian laugh softly.
"Baby Marc, that's not a good joke. What you did was bad and wrong." I heard Diane's gentle preaching him.
When I calmed myself down, I wiped my eyes and took a deep breath and let it out slowly. I turned to face Gian again and he was just biting his lip while smiling.
"Mama, why are you crying?" He asked immediately when he looked at me, he also came closer and caressed the side of my eye with his small palm.
"You made your mama cry, baby G."
"Baby, what you did earlier was bad. Don't do that again, okay?" I said softly while holding both of his small hands.
He nodded to what I said and his cheerful appearance earlier became a bit sad and even frowned while his eyes were looking down.
"You scared mama as well as your aunt and brother Kris."
"Sorry, mama." He said in a low voice but it's enough to make me heard it.
"My heart is still not calming down. I feel hot too, whoo!" Diane groaned loudly and I heard her walk to the other side of our seat.
"I was also nervous, I thought he had swallowed a bone."
"He's young but he knows how to prank."
I turned to Diane who was now sitting on the single sofa and was gently beating her chest because maybe her heart still hasn't calmed down from the nervousness she felt earlier.
"Who taught him?" I asked Diane, she looked at me and widened her eyes.
"I don't know. I'm innocent, Gill"
"Really? You sure about that?."
"Promise! I don't want to teach him nonsense, I'm afraid of someone if he find out."
It's good if that's the case and she knows that she will be the one to be blamed if she teaches her nephew a nonsensical things. But, if she didn't taught him, who to blame?
"Baby, who taught you that?"
I asked Gian who was now leaning on me while I was sitting on Lia's carpeted floor. I also noticed at the table that the food I gave Gian earlier hadn't been consumed, it seems that he really preferred to prank the elders before consuming the food I gave him.
"Uncle Ero" When I heard the name that Gian mentioned, without hesitation I turned my gaze to Diane and glared at her.
"What?!" Even Diane was surprised by what Gian said. "Wait, Gill. Don't look at me like that, you heard that it's not my name but my boyfriend's." Diane said as she grimaced.
"Mom, who is Ero?"
"Your aunt Diane's boyfriend, son."
"Tell Ero, Diane! I will really beat him."
"Okay! It's actually good for him if you only beat him, but not to me." She said with a snort and feel her pants pocket searching for something, when she found what she was looking for, she immediately tapped the screen of her cellphone.
"Baby, don't do it again? Listen to mama, what you did earlier was bad." I preach to Gian again.
"Is uncle Ero bad, mama?"
"Hmm... Bad uncle Ero." I told him. "Promise mama that you won't do it again."
"Promise, mama." He answered in a serious tone, I know he already understood the word 'promise', so I'm sure he will never repeat this kind of prank.
Gian and I did the 'I love you' gesture again, I ran my point finger over his nose and tapped the tip of it.
When I saw Gian looking like that earlier, I couldn't help but think that I'll lose him. The trembling I felt was different from the look he showed us earlier, all of my memories of Gian suddenly flashed from when Diane brought him to my unit, when I carried him for the first time. That's why I was really scared, anyone would be really scared and you wouldn't think that he was just joking and he's too young to think like that, what does he know about joking, right?
I was also really scared, what if Gian was taken from me? His real parents haven't taken him from me yet, but Lord will take him from me first. That's insane! All the pain I felt when Lord took mom and dad from me suddenly rushed came back to me, I don't want that to happen again. I don't want to lose someone anymore.
"Don't call me love, we're not in good terms now, Ero!"
I was brought back to reality when I heard Diane's loud voice. She was talking to someone on her cellphone, maybe she sent a message to her boyfriend, we found out that he taught it at Gian.
"Don't even try to see me and I'll make sure to razor all of your hair!"
"I didn't know Diane's a dragon, you didn't told me that, Gill." Lucy laughed and commented as she looked directly at Diane who was standing while her right hand were on her waist.
"What's up, guys? What's up with D?" Lia asked when she came back from her room.
I signaled her to come closer, she followed my hand and sat next to me on their carpeted floor.
"What is it? Hello, baby Gian." She kissed Gian on the cheek and hair and even pinched Gian's right cheek. "You're really adorable, you're so cute."
"Gian did something stupid that totally took out our soul from our body due to the fear we felt and it turns out it was Ero who taught him that so that's why Diane's angry now." I briefly explained to her.
"I only disappeared for a moment, and you did something silly already, cutie pie?"
"A stupid silly prank."
"So what did he do?"
"He pretended he couldn't breathe and even told us 'got you'!"
I even imitated what Gian said to us he also laughed at what I did. He have a gut to laugh at what he did, he's really still a kid.
"You did that? Are you a prankster?"
"Tsk. I asked him who taught him that and he said it was Ero."
"Tsk! Baby Gian, you should stay close with uncle Dustin from now on, okay?" Lia smiled silly while baby-talking Gian.
"Hahahahaha" Gian laughed loudly when Lia started tickling him on the most delicate part of his body, Gian's neck.
"Who has a tickle on the back of the neck?"
"Hahahahaha I can't ta-- hahahahaha mama"
"Stop it, Li. He can't take more tickles"
"Do you want me to stop?"
"Hahahahaha yes hahahahaha mama help hahahahaha"
Because he is so tickled that he swallowed his own saliva while laughing so hard.
"I don't want to! Don't think about showing your face to me. Take care of your own life for now! Bye, love you!" I heard Diane say and hung up her cell phone. She was already angry towards her boyfriend but she still said 'love you', really?
"Oh why is there 'love you' at the end? You're a dragon now, aren't you, dragons don't say 'love you', D."
"Well there is one now" She replied and stick her tongue out to Lia.
