I was up all night, I couldn't really sleep last night. When Diane woke up around five o'clock from her loud alarm clock, I pretended that I also woke up from the sound of her alarm too.
It was obvious to her that she was too lazy to get up, she buried her face in the soft pillow and she sulked while stomping her feet which caused the blanket we used to rise but she was still forced to stand up and start preparing herself for work. I laughed at Diane's behavior, she was like a child who was woken up but still wanted to sleep and stay longer in bed. I was left alone in their guest room and remained lying dumbfounded looking on the ceiling.
I finally got up from bed when I heard a series of knocks on the door and heard a small voice calling me.
"Mama..."
When I opened the door, Gian and Uncle Phil were there. Seeing Gian immediately made me smile. When I saw him, the worries I had last night suddenly disappeared.
"Good morning, baby."
I bent down to carry him and he quickly gave me a morning kiss on my cheek. Ash came out of his own room on time and he is dressed in his corporate business attire, maybe he'll go to work early.
"Oh! Have some breakfast first before you leave, Ashton." Uncle Phil immediately said when he saw Ash and turned back to Gian and me. "You too, Gillianna. Let's go have some breakfast before you guys leave."
Uncle Phil invited us authoritatively. I followed uncle Phil first and I think Ash also followed, he were just behind of us and it looked like they were playing because Gian was constantly giggling and hiding around my neck.
Diane was also in the dining area with aunt Em with their grandfather. I sat down at the dining chair and took some Gian's food. We were all eating quietly, only the sound of cutlery could be heard in their dining area and there was nothing new there.
Their grandfather left the mansion first, even though he was old, he said he doesn't want to waste his energy to other things and that he want to spend it managing his company than staying in their mansion. He also said that as long as he can still manage to stand on his own he'll continue to go to his company to work his ass off. The next one to leave was Ash, I simply took Gian with him so that Gian could escort his papa to his own car without being noticed by Aunt Em and Diane. Before leaving, he also reminded me that I should go to their company later. Minutes passed after Ash left, and Diane was the next to leave their mansion to go to her work, she even pissed me off that maybe the next thing aunt would order her to do is take all of my things from my unit .
I just pinched her side, she screamed and laughed before she got into her own car. That woman is really crazy, her jokes are so weird.
It didn't take long, aunt Em, Gian and I were the next to leave their mansion, uncle Phil was left but he also had a plan later and said he had something to meet with someone that I didn't bother asking him.
I already dressed on my office attire because after registering Gian to his school I need to go straight to Hayashi's company. I am wearing a simple dark brown pencil skirt that I partnered up with an inner cream loose blouse plus the black blazer coat that Diane gave me and since I don't like wearing shoes with high heels, I used my only 2 inches black shoes that I used in my last job. The good thing about this shoes I bought is it's not damaged even though I didn't use it all the time.
And the only jewelry I'm wearing is the bracelet that Jake gave me on our 1st year anniversary and as for my makeup I put a light face powder and satin lipstick just so I don't look pale. Cosmetology is the course that I've been planning to take for a long time at TESDA, but because I wasn't lucky enough to study then I didn't really know how to use a make up, and I also admit that I was excited working as Ash's temporary secretary, their company is a well known in cosmetic industry. And maybe, just maybe I can also learn a lot about cosmetology while I work as a temporary secretary in their company.
"You look gorgeous, Gill darling. Your office attire suits you, you should put some make up, too." Aunt Em praised me.
We are currently in the back seat of one of their cars, she has her own driver who is now driving us to the school that Gian will attend.
"Thank you, aunt." I thanked her and smiled.
Gian is in the middle of us and he is sitting in his own seat which is a child's seat while also wearing a seatbelt so that he is sure safe during the entire ride.
"Have you and Ashton talked?"
The first thing that came to my mind that aunt Em was referring to was about Gian, I was suddenly nervous again, I don't always drink coffee but I get easily nervous nowadays and it seemed that I'll get heart disease because of their family, they always gave me a mini heart attacked.
When I was able to properly process my thoughts, I realized that Aunt Em was referring to the job that I obtained from their company. I cleared my throat before answering Aunt Em's question.
"Ash said we'll talk about the contract later in his office."
She turned to me with a smile. Maybe when Diane gets older she'll look more like aunt Em. Maybe when I get older, I will also look more like my mama.
"Hmm.. Okay, we'll take you to the company later. So that you don't have to worry about commuting, there's sure to be traffic when we're done at Gian's future school."
I just nodded and took my cellphone out of my bag when I felt it vibrate. When I looked at the screen, Jake's name was registered so I immediately answered it and couldn't help but smile when I heard his voice.
< Hi, love! >
We didn't see each other for a few days but I felt liked I haven't heard his voice for a month which makes me missed him.
"Hi! Are you at work yet?" I asked him and turned my attention to Gian who was now talking to aunt Em, I leaned on the car seat and looked out the window to observe the buildings we were passing.
< Yes, I just arrived. I miss you, love! >
I bit my lower lip to hide my wide smile when I heard him say it softly.
"I miss you too, love."
< You're still in Salvador's residence? >
"No, we're on our way now to Gian's school."
< Ahh... And after that you're going home? >
I still haven't telling him that I already have a job, I would like to tell him that in person so I can see his reaction, but it seems I won't be able to see that.
"Not yet, I got a job and I'll go straight there after I'm done in Gian's school. But maybe in the evening we can go home or it would be just me."
With the last words I said, I looked at Gian who was very happy while he and his grandmother were tickling each other.
< Do you want me to pick you up? >
"Is it okay?" I asked him hesitantly.
< Of course! I'll pick you up later just send me their address >
"Okay. I will!"
"We're here, darling." Aunt Em said and the car stopped. I peeked out the window and could see that the school's huge, its school grounds were wide.
"We're here. I'll call you later, love."
< Okay. I love you! >
The door on auntie Em's side opened and she went down first, I also opened the door on my side and went down with my cellphone still on my other ear.
"I love you, too!"
I laughed when he made a three kiss sounds before he completely hung up. I immediately put the cellphone back in my bag and removed Gian from his child's seat and helped him get out of the car.
He was wearing a jumper jeans with an orange stripe on his inside top and a cute white rubber shoes, his hair was neatly combed by Aunt Em. He was supposed to be wearing a hat, but because Gian took it off, Aunt Em didn't let him wear it again. He really doesn't like wearing a hat, maybe because he feels hot on it.
And I don't want to say this, but I'm laughing at my thought of looking at Gian again because he looks like Chucky. They had the same dress style.
"Hahahaha forgive mama for what I thought, baby Gian."
After I finished adjusting my skirt that lift a little, I grabbed Gian's hand to approach Aunt Em.
"Let's go, darling"
