"Babe, mom is really insisting me."
"Insist where, Diane?"
Diane, Gian and I are here today at Lia's house in Mandaluyong, it's the 54th birthday of uncle Lenard, Lia's dad. They invited us and Diane so here we are in their living room while they are busy in the kitchen.
"Of baby Marc's schooling." She said softly to me.
There are many times aunt Em asked Diane about Gian's schooling, He just turned five years old and we can enroll him to kindergarten now or even in a daycare first just like I said before, I'll start looking for a job again when I enrolled Gian.
Yes, a years has passed and during those year I am very thankful that Gian and I didn't encountered a problem even though Gian were always at Diane's mansion, which I can't help to keep him away from them, Aunt Em and Uncle Phil really wanted us to visit so there is really nothing I could do but agreed to visit them.
Jake and I had a strong relationship which I didn't expect, it was my first relationship. And even though there were problems, we were able to solve them. But there is only one problem that we cannot solve immediately and that is Jake's father's reaction to our relationship.
"Gill, mom wants you to go to Las Piñas to send baby Marc to kindergarten" Diane said again, scratching her head because of Aunt Em.
I really couldn't refuse Aunt Em's request. It's so hard to be soft with people who are important to you.
"Let's just agree to it, Diane. Your grandfather and brother aren't there in the morning, so maybe it's okay if we let Gian and aunt Em go first. Like I told you, when Gian turns five I need to start look for a job." I gave a long explanation to Diane.
"What are you guys talking about?" Lia intervened in our conversation.
"Hahahaha! You're it, baby G." We heard Lucy's loud laughter while talking to Gian, it looked like they were playing hide and seek again.
"The one with mom's nagging." Diane said with a snort.
"Have you decided, Gill?"
Lia already knows the whole truth. Last year, Diane and I told Lia everything about Gian and she sulked a bit because we kept her a secret but her sulking quickly disappeared when she realized it is truly confidential.
"I agree to what aunt Em wants, I think it's safe in the morning since her grandfather and brother are at work."
"As a matter of fact, Gill has a point, Diane."
"But---"
"Don't worry, maybe your secret will be revealed if you worry too much." Lia said cutting off what Diane was about to say.
"Oh! Come on, let's eat." The three of us turned to the kitchen when aunt Luna called us. It's Lia's mother and my mama's sister.
"Come on, girls. Let's not think about that for now, and think about how we're going to consume all of the lumpiang shanghai."
"Yeah! Let's eat first, Diane." She just sighed before getting up and followed Lia to the dining area, I also followed them.
"Oh! Where are your boyfriends and it's a miracle they we're not attached to you now?" Lina immediately asked us when we entered their dining area.
She is now sitting at the dining table and her plate is full of food.
"They have work, sis. How about when are you planning to have a boyfriend?"
"You two are starting again, you're at the dinner table!" Aunt scolded them.
I told you, Lina has this strange behavior even to her sisters. Lina just rolled her eyes and spooned a pasta again even though her plate was still full.
I was about to sit next to Diane when I noticed that someone is missing, I looked around their dining area but I didn't find him.
Where is my son?
"Wait! Baby G said just a moment!" I heard Lucy scream, my attention turned to where her voice was coming from.
We can clearly see how Lucy is squatting while walking, she is behind Gian while they are both holding a big cake.
"Wait!" Gian said with a small but loud voice, I just smiled at his appearance now while his uncle's cake was almost close to his face, which Lucy was also supporting in holding.
"Happy birthday to you...." An opening song by Lucy and Gian who also sings along with.
But they don't really sing at the same time, my baby is late in singing, after he mentions 'birthday' he'll takes a deep breath and then says 'to you'.
"Aww!Our grandson is so cute!" Aunt said a little softly but just enough for me to hear.
"Happy birthday, happy birthday..." We all sang together and clapped along.
"Happy birthday... to you..." In the last part we let Gian sing and we clapped.
"Blow the candle, grandpa" Gian happily said to uncle, Lucy also took the cake and handed it to uncle.
"My hip hurts, ouch!"
"Why are you still squatting, you know you're getting old and not young, duh?" Lina responded to Lucy's complaint.
"If only you brought out the cake, right? But no cause you're only thinking about saving your seat."
"Sshh! Enough! You're both old for that kind of argument." Lia said, scolding her two older sisters.
I felt Diane elbowed me weakly so I looked at her and saw how she was holding back her laughter. Diane still wants to find sympathy for holding back her laughter. I think Diane enjoys it when these three siblings fight, I don't know why she enjoys seeing them fight.
"Help me blow the candle, grandson." Uncle invited Gian who immediately nodded. He looks excited to blow a candle.
"Come, grandson." Aunt said and carried Gian so that he could reach the cake that uncle was holding now.
"Okay, 1.. 2.. 3..." After three, uncle and Gian blew out the candles together. My baby is still smiling and clapping. He also kissed aunt and uncle's cheeks before aunt put him down and ran to me.
"Have you greeted grandpa Nard yet?" I immediately asked Gian when he came close to me and he immediately hugged my waist.
Lia's father's name was Lenard but Gian grew up mentioning Nard so it became grandfather Nard.
He nodded to my question while looking at me but he was still hugging my waist.
"I said, Happy birthday, grandpa Nard."
I smiled at what he said and combed his black hair using my fingers. When Gian was still a baby, he really is handsome, but now that he's growing up, I can see he become even more handsome just like his father, Ash.
The whiteness of his skin is all natural, his nose that even if you don't look from the side you can see it is indeed pointed and sharp, his eyes that are not big and not too narrow and further darkened by having thick eyelashes, as well having a beautiful nice shape of his eyebrows. But what makes my baby Gian even more handsome is his natural red thin lips.
"My baby is really good. Do you want to eat now?"
"Yes, mama." He replied and was accompanied by a nod.
"Chicken, mama." He immediately said while I was taking his food, he was also peeking over the table while he tiptoe.
"Okay, prince Gian."
