Diane couldn't take us back to my apartment, her parents didn't allow us to travel in the middle of the night. Gian and I just spent the night here, we slept in Diane's room and discussed that early tomorrow we will return to my apartment.
It's good that Diane's room is spacious so Gian happily plays alone on the floor, I didn't took him out again last night after I changed his diaper. I was also nervous that he might be obvious that Gian is related to them, especially since he looks so much like Ash.
Maybe their grandfather Diane's mind is already spinning, so we should avoid him first. But there is also a part of me that wants to tell Ash the truth because I saw his expression last night while looking at Gian, I could see the sadness in his eyes. And I can also see the joy in his eyes when Gian is with him. He must have thought of the child in Hannah's womb the last time they met.
Will Ash forgive me when he finds out that I'm also one of those who hid his child? The first incident I know that I can't be forgiven, how about this one?
"You look like you're in a deep thoughts."
I looked at Diane who had just come out of her own bathroom in her room.
"I just thought that Ash might not be able to forgive me."
She sighed before sitting on her bed.
"Don't worry, I'm the one to blame, not you. I just forced you to do this."
"But I also found out right away"
"And I also forced you not to tell anyone."
"Maybe we can tell even just to Ash?"
"Still no"
"Maybe he knows how to keep a secret"
"Babe, grandpa and brother are always together in the company. I can assure you that if grandpa notices something unusual in brother's behavior, he will investigate it."
"Why is your grandfather so strict, especially with Ash"
"The reason is he will inherit grandpa's company"
That explains everything. Their grandfather makes sure that Ash will be perfect in his eyes before passing the name of the company to him. Holding Ash by the neck, I suddenly felt sad for him. It's as if their grandfather is denying him to be happy like he did by rejecting his girlfriend.
I just shook my head from what I thought, I don't want to think about that. Let me focus on Gian first, I don't want their grandfather to find him, his great grandpa.
It's a good thing that aunt and I have agreed that Gian and I will go home to the apartment. It looks like I won't be going back to their house, it's difficult and maybe their grandfather will find out about Gian before us. But, I promised myself that no matter what happens, no one can hurt my baby. They have to go through me first.
"Thanks for the ride, Ero! Thanks, too, Diane. You two be careful on the way."
I said goodbye to them when Gian and I got out of the car. They were going straight to Ero's parents, they also invited me but I chose to decline their offer so Gian could rest first.
"You're welcome, Gill!" Ero answered me and looked out the window of the car.
"Bye, baby Marc! Aunt and uncle will back. I can't take you in anymore, Gill. Go ahead, I'll watch you over till you enter the apartment."
"Alright, be careful! Ero, be careful driving."
I waved to them, including Gian, I grabbed his arm and waved softly to them. When I entered the apartment, I saw that they had just left, so I went straight to the front of the elevator.
When Gian and I entered my unit, I immediately turned on the big electric fan in the living room and brought him down to his play area.
I first got Gian a clothes so I could change him right away, it's a good thing I had already bathed him earlier before we left in Aunt Em's mansion, so I'll have to clean him again only tonight. It's really fun to dress Gian, especially when I put him in shorts because he'll hold onto both of my shoulders to support him standing while he puts his legs through the hole in his shorts. It's just so cute.
"It's done, yehey!"
"Aing~!" His reaction was very happy, accompanied by clapping while stomping his feet on the soft puzzle mat.
"Baby, wait here first. Mama will also change."
"Mama..."
"Yes, mama will change her clothes too."
"Mama.."
I smiled and kissed Gian on both cheeks before I left him in his play area. I didn't even close the door of my room so that I could still see him in his place, it was difficult because what if I got distracted for a moment and something happen. It's just so scary so I really can't take my eyes off of Gian when there's no other adult around him to take care of him.
At night, Gian and I sat quietly on the sofa while we watched spongebob, it seems to be his favorite because when I switches to other cartoons, he will cry. Isn't his behavior obviously spoiled, tsk tsk.
We had already finished dinner so I let Gian watch and maybe it would help make him sleepy. I let him watch once in a while to keep his eyes off of the TV to avoid damaging his eyes.
My cellphone rang and when I looked at the screen, Jake's name was registered on it. I immediately answered that with a smile.
< Hi, Gill. >
"Hi Jake."
< Are you home? Sorry, I didn't answer your call earlier. >
"It's okay and yes we're home."
< That's great news for me. I'll be home soon too. >
"Hmm... Be careful on the way home."
< I will, Love. >
After hearing the word 'love', my smile automatically widened. It's a good thing Diane and Lia aren't here because I'm sure those two will tease me again.
"Love?" I asked and heard him chuckle.
< Yes, love. Do not you like? >
"No, I'm just making sure?" I turned to Gian who was sitting next to me, he was still focused on watching but his eyes were closing.
< Why ask? Hahaha >
"Hahaha I don't know, Jake..." I want to let him know that I would hang up the call first to assist Gian again and let him go so that he could sleep comfortably in our bed. But he didn't answered so I looked at my phone screen to see if the call was disconnected but it wasn't.
"Jake?" I called him again. "Love?"
< Yes, love? >
I laughed a little at how funny he was.
"Hahaha you don't want me to call you by name, you want to be called love."
< Hahaha yes I don't like Jake anymore. >
"Okay, love."
< Hahahaha you have to get used to it, I won't really pay attention to you if you call me by my name again. >
He said as if he become a kid again.
"Hahahaha okay" He also laughed on the other line. "Love---"
< Yes, love? >
I really smiled at what he's doing.
"I'll hang up first, because Gian is sleepy."
< Wait, let's do a video call. >
I blinked when I heard what he said.
"Now?"
< Yes, love. >
"Uh... Okay"
As he said we'll have a video call, the smile that made me fall in love immediately appeared during our video call. I smiled at him, too.
< Hello, love! I just miss you even more after seeing you. >
I felt the strange feeling in my body again, it was really good to make me thrill.
"Just wait, love. I'll carry baby Gian first."
< Okay, love. >
I took the phone stand that was on the side of the sofa and put my cell phone on it and put it on top of the TV, I also adjusted its position so that he could see Gian and I on the screen.
While I was carrying Gian to make him fall asleep, Jake wasn't talking so I looked at the screen of my cellphone but he was just looking and smiling as he watched us. He must have noticed that I peeked at him so he spoke but softly, just enough for me to hear.
< I love you, love. >
My cheeks are almost torn from the width of my smile now, I peeked at him again and mouthed. "I love you too, love."
