After I applied ointment on Liv’s hand, I bandaged it before we went back to the room to open it.
"Aren’t you gonna rethink your decision before you open the door?" Liv asked
"No babe, like we said we have no choice if the worse comes out of it then we have to just deal with it" Lyon said as he knelt and took a deep breath before placing the key into the keyhole
Liv seems to be more worried especially when Lyon said 'if the worse comes out of it we will deal with it' I turned around and looked at her, she was trying to calm herself down but unfortunately her eyes revealed the whole truth.
"It’s gonna be fine" I whispered as I placed a hand on her shoulder.
She smiled at me but I could sense that she was forcing the smile.
Lyon unlocked the door padlock and gently removed the padlock from the door before he opened the door which made an uncomfortable creaking noise.
Immediately the door opened, and we looked at each other wondering who will step inside first when Lyon walked in, I followed him as Liv walked behind me holding my hand.
"Whose room was this" I thought as I stared at the room pieces of furniture, the room looked old-fashioned and extremely dusty.
The room was covered with brown wallpaper that has white straps on it, a black rug, and a single-person wooden bed on the left side of the room, by the side of the bed is a wooden nightstand topped with an alarm clock and a photo frame. By the window, side is an old white wooden study desk which is a bit rusty.
An old classic tv was kept across the room and a wooden dressing drawer which has a heart-shaped mirror hung beside it.
I walked closer to the photo frame and was about to pick it up
"Vickie don’t touch anything" Liv whispered
"I just wanna see whose picture is on the frame"
"No, you don’t wanna cost anymore trouble right? Just look at it but don’t touch it"
I tried to look at the photo frame but wasn’t able to identify who’s photo was on it
"I have to touch it to take a closer look at the picture in it" I whispered to myself
I was about to take the photo frame when Lyon called my attention. I turned back and went closer to him
"Look at these wall straps," he said as he pointed at it
"What about it? Do you think there is something behind it"
"I’m not sure yet but it looks like we weren’t the first people to have entered this room"
"What do you mean?"
"I’m not sure yet but take a closer look at the wallpaper, I think something is wrong"
I walked closer to the wallpaper and looked at it but didn’t notice a thing
"You just lost me, what are talking about, I don’t seem to understand"
"I think we aren’t the first people to come to this room, if you look closely at the wall strap it looks different compared to the others and if you touch it, it looks like it was removed…."
Lyon didn’t finish talking when we heard a noise coming from the hallway
"Babe, I think we need to leave the room, it’s here" Liv panicked as she held his shirt tightly
The noise abruptly stopped, it sounded like something fell on the ground
"It’s okay babe, I know you’re scared but to be honest we all are, you need to pull yourself together, nothing is gonna happen okay" he said as he used his hands and wiped her tears.
"Yeah Liv, we will get out of this mess together and everything will be fine. Just trust us"
She nodded in agreement as she walked closer to me and stood by my side
"What were you talking about Lyon"
"The wallpaper strap, it looks like it was removed a few……" he placed his hand on the wallpaper as his facial reaction changed
"What happened, why did you stop talking, what happened to the wallpaper strap was it removed?"
"It’s gone, it was just right over here and now it’s gone. How is that possible, the straps were different compared to the others and the wallpaper looked torn…. I saw it, how did it change all the sudden it just doesn’t make any sense"
"That noise we heard earlier was nothing but a distraction"
"But how! It was here before and now it’s gone" he said
"Hey it’s okay beside this isn’t the first impossible thing that happened so just let it go. I saw a photo frame on that wooden nightstand" I said as I grabbed his hand and walked closer to the frame
He took the picture and stared at it for a moment before he handed it over to me
"The face is barely revealing, it could be anyone"
I looked at the photo for a little while before I gave it to Liv
"Yeah you’re right, it could be anyone"
"Not just anyone, I think this is Melody" Liv said
"Melody" we said in unison
"Yes, look at the dress she wore, if I’m not mistaken this is the gown she wore the day she found out Mick was missing"
"Are you sure babe"
"Yes I am" she said
"I was so worried that day. I didn’t have a look at her dress"
"What a minute there is something behind the photo frame" she whispered as she turned the photo frame around
"What is it"
"I think it’s a piece of paper. But I’m unable to take it out"
"Let me see it" Lyon said as he collected the photo frame from Liv
“Oh lord It’s stuck, move aside I’m gonna break it"
"No babe, don’t do it, we will look for something to….."
"Hey guys come over here" I interrupted
"What is it"
"I found this book under the bed," I said as I tried to open it but couldn’t
"Damm it, it needs a key" I whispered
"The key is here," Lyon said as he handed it over to me
"Where did you get the key babe?"
"It was wrapped on the piece of paper"
"Is there something written on the paper"
He turned the paper around before he spoke "Nothing is written on it" he said as he threw the paper on the floor
I grabbed the key and unlocked the book before Liv spoke
"There is something on the paper" she whispered to herself
She held the paper for some seconds as she widen her eyes in shock
"What’s on the paper Liv"
She didn’t utter a word as she turned back and looked at us for a moment
