I couldn't decide on what to do anymore.
Cami's revelation had thrown me off balance while Anubis' had left me unable to make my judgement.
The human girl was still under the Pendulum. I tried my possible best to avoid her sight to prevent any distractions from Kodiac.
Cami sat down a little distance away from a weeping Anubis.
" She speaks the truth." Cami said simply.
I found it really hard to believe that Cami would ever make a statement as simple as that.
My heart sank realizing that my brother had died a rogue.
Why didn't he speak to anyone about what he was experiencing? The Shaman would have found some kind of cure for him or anything to put him under control.
I had been punishing the wrong person the whole time. Kodiac would have never forgiven me if anything had happened to the human girl. My pack would have seen me as an unjust leader.
I didn't even know what to do anymore.
I couldn't let Anubis be treated like any wolf, she was my brother's mate and that makes her royalty too.
Even if Amigo died a rogue, his good deeds would remain in the hearts of everyone. The least I could do was to protect his mate from any form of pain.
All the same, that doesn't exempt her from punishment. A soul almost lost it's life because of her mistake and maybe if she had told anyone about anything, Amigo would have never died.
At the same time, I can't let the human girl go. Letting her go would be a really costly mistake. She was probably going to tell the rest of her people and then, the territory that we have guarded against the humans for a long time would finally be exposed to the danger of the knowledge of man.
We would become nothing but lab rats in their hands. Even if she would never do such, I still couldn't let her go. Amigo didn't just die because he was a rogue, he died because she killed him. Even if he attacked her first, it doesn't change the fact that she was still his murderer.
Even if she wasn't guilty, Kodiac didn't seem like he was ready to let her go.
" You have indeed committed a sin too great to be overlooked Anubis." I said, still thinking of the right punishment for my brother's mate.
" The human shall still be retained to await trial but she shall be released from the prison ground. That doesn't change her status. She remains a slave. And you Anubis, you shall be punished without remorse." I declared, only for her to fall unconscious.
Khloe
I couldn't believe my ears when the alpha said I was going to be released. It still saddens my heart that I would not go back to my family though, I would be free from such pains.
The other two guys that dragged me here, dragged me back to the room where I was being chained.
" Frost would carry out the alpha's instructions. I can't bare to see a human naked. Let's go Aaron." One of the guys say to another, putting on a disgusting face.
' Who is Frost?' I almost asked before remembering that I was still a slave.
I was still reflecting on my life when a cold looking she wolf walked into the room.
She began taking off my chains without saying anything.
" You may come in." She said after taking off the heavy iron collar on my neck.
A short but beautiful she wolf walked into the room with a big bag on her right shoulder.
I couldn't get a proper look at her face as her weirdly long bangs protected her face from identification, exposing only her slightly crooked nose and her orange lips.
The muscular werewolf that unchained me stood up from the ground where she had crouched to my level while the short female took her place there.
" It's fine. I'm a Shaman, I'm simply here to treat you." She assured before going on with her duties.
She began by cleaning the wounds inflicted by the chains. After that, she treated the sours and cuts on my face.
It took her quite a while to do so. After that, she ran my bath in a washroom that I was just noticing. The soap used on my body was bitter smelling but I had no other choice; a slave has no choice whatsoever before his master.
She let me wear the faded colored clothes she brought along with her.
After that, she applied a certain ointment to my skin.
" You should rest. Soon enough, you should eat. By then, I'd be back to administer your medicines to you." And with that being said, she exited the room.
I was still standing thinking of what next to do.
I didn't want to be rude to Frost by sitting on the bare ground but at the same time, I couldn't stand for so long as I knew my already weak legs would only grow weaker.
" You can sit." She said without looking at me.
I was too dazed to do anything.
' Did she really talk to me?' I kept on asking myself in my head.
" I said you can sit." She said again but this time, staring at me. Now I see why she's called Frost.
She looked exactly like the other wolf that had come to treat me.
Her eye balls were almost like the color of frosts, only creamy, her lips were pale white but with an orange linen around it. Her nose was also a bit crooked but with her hair packed up, she looked like an angel, a cold angel.
Were all werewolves made to be more beautiful than humans?
I gently took my sit on the cold bare floor, still admiring Frost.

" I don't know Derrick but I think you should just let her go." Jamal said to me, noticing my state of unrest.
" It's not so easy Jamal, she killed my brother." I replied.
" Are you still keeping her because she killed your brother or you're just not ready to let her go?" Jamal asked and for some reason, I felt like he was telling the truth.
" What do you mean?" I asked him.
" I know what you're going through. Even your father went through it. You feel like she is your mate simply because Kodiac reacts to her presence. But mating goes beyond a simple reaction. A lot of mates out there never feel anything for themselves initially until a later time in their relationship. Don't rush things Derrick, I know you're scared but slowly, everything would fall in place." Jamal said, patting my back like my father always did.
" Don't overthink okay? Eat as much, you would need it." Jamal said before exiting my Chambers.
